  1. The subject of this post, Just Wait Till Next Year, should be our battle cry! It would be bigger than War Eagle!
  2. Hootie on October 23, 2001. The oldest picture I have of the famed owl from the venerable Hit Hootieâ„¢ promotion
  3. It's painful to watch that guy. I do give him credit though for trying to act excited while drowning in a sea of hopelessness. Unfortunately, he can't pull it off.
  4. This is a great thread. I think that Hit Hootieâ„¢ is perhaps the oldest tradition that USF football has. I seem to remember him being around even in the first season. During his first few years of going to USF games Hit Hootieâ„¢ was my son's favorite part of the experience. (He is 18 now).
  5. DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with stickershoppe.com whatsoever. FYI, today is free shipping and there are a number of nice USF decals available. http://www.stickershoppe.com/CTGY/university-of-south-florida.html
  6. My kids both go to Auburn and they are frequently reminded about the game where the Bulls "taught the Tigers a thing or two about how to play football". I keep the video of the winning play on my phone for anytime viewing and/or sharing.
  7. Even better if you b Prime http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_theme_browse-bin_17?rh=n%3A3375251%2Cp_83%3AP1NANI6TNFD7HWWZP%2Cp_6%3AATVPDKIKX0DER%2Cn%3A%213375301%2Cn%3A3386071%2Cp_n_theme_browse-bin%3A374337011%2Cp_n_theme_browse-bin%3A375491011%2Cp_n_theme_browse-bin%3A375510011&bbn=3386071&ie=UTF8&qid=1406298349&rnid=375491011
  8. For your listening enjoyment I have created an MP3 of the Groethe to Hester pass that defeated the Auburn Tigers in 2007 and have posted it here: http://sessums.net/defeat_au/ Right click on the file "bulls defeat auburn.mp3" and save it to your PC, iPad, tablet or phone. Put it on your smart phone and you can use it as a quick "pick me up" when you are feeling down! Enjoy!
  9. Downloading it now. In the meantime I have created a MP3 of the clip and have posted it here: http://sessums.net/defeat_au/ Rightt click on the file bulls defeat auburn.mp3 and save it to your PC, iPad, tablet or phone. Enjoy!
  10. Thanks gobulls83 for the suggestion. Here is a link to the youtube video that I speak of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6jd8hLGbGA
  11. It would probably be best to convert the VOB file to MPEG-2 first and then worry about editing... or just copy the entire disk and snail mail it to me (I'll pay your expenses). Thanks, I tried it. But since it's screen capture (and the sound is from the mic recording the speakers), the quality is probably far worse than what's already on Youtube. What I need is something that can open a VOB file, edit and splice it, then save it as an MPG file.
  12. Note: There is a video of this on youtube, but it is very low quality....probably was considered good quality at the time. I am looking to find video of this particular play (which is my favorite ever single USF play) which is of better quality than the youtube one. If you know of or have access to any good quality video of this can you please message me so that I can view it on my phone/iPad. My kids go to Auburn and I like to occasionally "remind" them with video of the time "the bulls taught the tigers a thing or two about how to play football" Thank you so much. Rich
  13. Why would they burn his red shirt? The shirt costs money and can be used for another player rather than destroying it.
  14. Maybe the "full stadium" look would help recruiting if we rotated our home games among the various high school stadiums in the area!
  15. I love myself, but I'd still put my money on Mike Tyson vs. me.
  16. Now we can say as we recall our season "..but they ARE ranked FOURTH in the FCS." http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings/_/poll/10
  17. Of all teams, Miami has the lowest percentage of fans who have actually gone to (any) college.
  18. The annual US News & World Report college and university rankings are out. Thus is, arguably, the most extensive, exhaustive and best evaluation used to rank our nation's colleges and universities. We're number 170 on the list, and, coincidentally, we TIED for that spot with UCF. Interesting. http://tbo.com/news/education/usf-holds-at-no-170-on-magazines-best-list-20130910/
  19. The late Rep. Sam Gibbons was responsible for the creation of the university without which we'd have no teams.
  20. I also seem to have some thought that they might have played a few games in Lakeland. Probably at the LCC, the place where those of us over 40 had to drive all the way to for concerts.
  21. Anybody remember venues that we played in long, long ago? As a kid I remember seeing USF at the old Curtis "Drew" Hixon hall downtown and I THINK I even remember a game or two over at HCC that my dad dragged me to. I also remember going to games when I was REAL young at the old Howell Gymnasium at Cass St. and Boulevard, but that might have been a UT game and my memory fails me. Anyone remember if we actually did play at Howell? Oh, and how about the Sportatorium at Kennedy Blvd and Albany St. Oh, wait, that was NWA professional wresting. My bad. Any other venue memories out there? (No wise arse away game answers either!! ;D)
  22. What happened to Ryan "Private" Benjamin who was the long hiker (sic) for the Bunks during our Super Bowl year?
