  5. true, but its not that bad for a white guy! yeah its not exactly Maurice Green times, but he will add speed to our secondary for sure!
  6. ok, he has been hurt almost all year and has not been doing spectacular this year..... BUT B-100 10.24 Charles, Hugh, 2004, Keller TX 4/17/2004, District 5A Reg 1 TX, # 1 B-100 10.28 p +0.8 Dix, Walter, 2004, Coral Springs FL 3/27/2004, Fla Relays 3A-4A FL, # 1 B-100 10.29 Carter, Xavier, 2004, Palm Bay Melb FL 4/17/2004, Florida Elite Inv FL, # 1 he runs to his competition, in the meet he ran 10.29 second place was in the 10.5 range and that was OJ Murdock, prob the fastest sprinter in the tampa area if not the west coast... and if you really want to get technical the 10.28 by Dix was wind aided so XC's time is technically quicker than Dix's...
  7. it is always fun when some of the football players make it over after practices or whatever, especially since you are sitting literally feet away from the action the players really hear EVERYTHING you say! the USM basketball game in the Corrall was a good example!
  8. ugh... we are becoming UF-Tampa in vollyball :-X I guess if you are going to form a coaching staff from one school it's a good idea to take them from one of the best vball school's in the nation :
  9. ok... well being a half second being Xman is not really that bad, HE IS THE NUMBER 1 SPRINTER IN THE NATION!!! He has been running in BASKETBALL SHOES, due to a toe injury, and still winning all his events.
  10. interesting, i followed the link directly off of benmaller.com earlier and it worked fine.... oh well here is the pertinenet info.... Packers add free agents Two linebackers, guard, tackle sign By BOB McGINN bmcginn@journalsentinel.com Posted: April 26, 2004 Green Bay - Linebacker Maurice Jones, a three-year starter at South Florida, and three players who were never full-time starters at Division I-A schools have been signed as free agents by the Green Bay Packers. South Florida linebacker Maurice Jones was signed to play the weak side in Green Bay. Jones is joined by guard Atlas Herrion of Alabama, tackle Jason Hilliard of Louisville and linebacker Kevin Jackson of Hawaii. Previously, it was reported that the Packers signed tight end Keith Willis of Virginia Tech and quarterback Scott McBrien of Maryland. Jones, 6 feet 0 1/2 and 242 pounds, was signed to play the weak side in Green Bay. He started on the strong side in 2001 and '02 for South Florida before moving to the middle in '03, when he led the Bulls in tackles with 116. He had 12 1/2 sacks in all. "Plays hard," San Francisco 49ers scout John Brunner said. "Not real instinctive. He's a slow reactor. Big kid. Not bad speed." At the combine, Jones ran 40 yards in 4.68 seconds, had a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump and put up 225 pounds on the bench press 26 times.
  11. article about MoJo signing.. http://www.jsonline.com/packer/news/apr04/225169.asp
  12. the only thing guaranteed in the NFL is the signing bonus no matter who you are, from signing as a FA to Peyton Manning. They all prob signed for league minimum, which I wanna say is in the 300k range, and then recieved a small signing bonus 50-100k. not sure about the signing bonus range, that's just a guess.
  13. not even close... there is absolutely no reason for a BCS AD to step down from his position to take this. Yeah there is a lot of potential, but why step down from a guarantee and take on a risky project for less pay?? as for the "one time gimmicks" most were set up to set attendance records, not just for one time efforts. He is also the one that was trying to have a bball game on an aircraft carrier if i remember correctly. Attendance is not a problem at all for MSU, check out their 2003 attendance, every game is in the 72k range which i assume is a sellout. They drew 72k for La tech and Rutgers!! http://msuspartans.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/msu-m-footbl-CumulativeStats.html Basketball almost every game is listed at 14759, assuming thats a sellout... http://msuspartans.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/teamcume.html heck they were even drawing several thousand a night for WOMENS bball http://msuspartans.collegesports.com/sports/w-baskbl/stats/2003-2004/teamcume.html
  14. it is interesting that the Air Force guy snuck in there... I can see the reasoning with the UV and MSU guys, but the Air Force candidate kinda seem out of place....
  15. the knuckler is extremely difficult to control and even harder to "make it dance"... I used to pitch quite often and always messed around with the knuckle in warmups and practice, but could never get it consistent enough to use in a game. on a side note, one of thepitchers we faced from Miami (second night) had a nasty knucklecurve that made our lineup look stupid...
  16. the other 1-2 people would be the orange bowl chairman and the associate AD at UCONN. Throughout the whole process those two have essentially been offered the job if they chose to apply and neither have applied, so far. and isnt all marketing gimmicky?? maybe that's just me...
  17. **** Howie, did you scan all the teams transactions??? EXCELLENT FIND!
  18. they will feel wanted when several teams call them for FA offers
  19. both will be signed as free agents... so it is better to not get drafted late. Now at least they have choices about where they go
  20. http://isis.fastmail.usf.edu/usfpers/vacancy/a_and_p.htm#Director so here is the official opening posted on the USF site so now there is nothing holding you back from applying...
  21. anybody know anything about baseball today??
  22. thats a joke if they have JR as the #20 safety and then Verpeale at #30... I have seen JR ranked as high as like the 6-7th best Safety in the draft!
