They are way more positive than they were then, the better we do the more positive I am back then in my opinion you really had to go out of your way to manufacture positives. Now there are quite a few things people can genuinely point to that show a positive even if I’m ready to keep moving past them, I don’t think people are completely making them up.

I can’t even pretend to be mad. People thought we were the 9th best aac team and now the coaches think we are the 29th best in the country. That’s not so bad.

FSU and Auburn aren’t among your favorite memories? Miami? ND? Clemson? WVU and Louisville are definitely among my favorites but I don’t see any of those hanging around here.

Win the tournament; get in the ncaa; celebrate. That most people are predicting only the automatic bid out of the tournament gets into the ncaa out of the aac shows exactly how much the aac is worth in a vacuum.

I think it’s just nice to see a number by your name and also attention breeds attention, it certainly can’t hurt impact when your scores are shown by default when looking up scores of the day, that your scores are scrolling at the bottom of broadcast and when people go through highlights yours are covered. People have mostly forgotten about usf and it’s nice to get to remind them that we are still here.

Is there any leagues anywhere where there usually isn’t a perennial top, middle and bottom? Being at the top every year shouldn’t signal that things are balanced it’s that you are punching below your weight. Being in the sec means every week you have an opportunity to shock the world and do something exciting while being in the aac means that most weeks you get an opportunity for people to say that’s nice I only follow D1 college though.

We can just make up trophies or compete in local tournaments and add those, people would recognize them and weigh them about equally in terms of importance.

I’d rather still be in the BEAST too! That’s a move I can get behind, they may feel that way enough to move to what’s left of the aac with some old Big East pals but that’s not exactly what we are left with here now. The only team in the conference that doesn’t make me throw up in my mouth when I see they are in our conference is Memphis which simply causes me to gag. There is no way your family would rather be winning in the aac vs their current setup.

Beating Florida and talking trash to their fans about how we beat them is worth more than any number of wins that can take place against an aac team of which I will never encounter a fan. More importantly not one UCF fan wishes they went back from the b12 to the aac and not a single Vandy fan has ever called for moving down. I’d rather be the biggest loser is only a fairytale people tell themselves to feel better about being in lower leagues anyone that actually likes competing at lower levels isn’t a competitor

Can anyone from memory describe to me what the regular season aac championship trophy looks like (assuming there is one)? Who it was in various years? My guess is not and the reason is because while it’s nice to pretend that it matters it matters to next to no one even engaged fans of teams with the misfortune of being in the league. People know fau because they made ncaa noise, people know UCF because they made national noise, aac success without the next steps is nothing.

I’m perfectly fine with losing more against competition of consequence and renown; being the best minor leaguer is never once in life better than making it to the bigs.

Winning the tournament and getting into the ncaa is of far greater importance. The ncaa tournament is the only college basketball season anyone is aware of and if you aren’t in it you don’t exist

I think for a lot of people (like me) beating FAU in a vacuum isn’t particularly enjoyable. The ride is only fun because you get to hope you are actually going somewhere and not because you are driving aimlessly through an aac wasteland.

When do basketball rankings even come out? Can’t remember the last time I’ve ever thought it mattered to look, that I even have an opportunity to be disappointed or happy feels like a win.
