  1. Then you should fully appreciate that board approval sounds like a better endorsement than it typically is (from a good idea perspective).
  2. And outside of the absurd UCF spin that is helpful to a conference how exactly?
  3. Explain to me how anyone would possibly mistake the stadium as an upgrade? It is in every conceivable way a downgrade and if conferences are using stadiums as a criteria this is not breaking us towards the positive.
  4. I like that we fired failure and made hires that seem to be having early success, that is a step in the right direction. There are a lot of things that can be done to improve things in the conference failure department, this stadium is not one of them. How does not wanting to pretend that building a ****** stadium somehow lead to UCF being successful and us not building one somehow leading to the failures that followed translate to needing to join UCF? This is their revisionist history that only exists because we made fun of their POS that they felt forced to build. We weren't forced use the money more judiciously on impactful things that are not at ridiculous highs for all parts of the process. It is dumb and people need to be fired.
  5. There is absolutely no logical reason to believe that, it’s a downgrade that makes zero dollars for the conferences that already have teams playing off campus. It’s as simple as UCF had success with something and they built a stadium, let’s pretend that’s the only way and focus on the stadium part (ignoring everything else) because it’s easier.
  6. I fully get that and I am sure others do too, what you are missing is that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to build the stadium at the new price for the same garbage people made fun of for years.
  7. The issue wasn’t that we were on the cover of si and #2 for a week. It was that some people were big mad that we were only able to get to #2 for a week so they decided to get rid of the person that accomplished that as it was way better to make us stay #2 for a decade and a half.
  8. The rules say that you only step out on that ledge to get more P5 teams in, it’s the first rule
  9. Those are ways to settle games that have been tied through regulation and overtime, that’s not the same thing as being unable to win the game you are playing and unilaterally deciding to change to a different game.
  10. Maybe the penalty scheme is more appealing to the Beijing market
  11. Nomenclature between the ncaa and nba, the ncaa uses intentional foul. The strategy is to foul, which to your point sounds an awful lot like intent but most importantly it’s boring. Its over used and should have active steps take to limit it. Down five and in the final minute, I think most people could tolerate that but it’s several minutes and double digits which is absurd.
  12. Even our SMU second half felt that way and it’s not even close to the most flagrant example, i am usually multitasking during the games and it doesn’t bother me as much. However when everyone else I try to make watch asks how can I watch this **** and says they don’t care who even wins they just want it over, I have to take notice. It’s a bad ending, the consumers aren’t wrong and it’s okay to change for the better.
  13. Who was worried about slumming it in the nit before today?
  14. I don’t recall teams starting as early and against as big of leads. There have been games this season where it seemed like teams down almost 20 spent half the second half employing fouling as a strategy. If your strategy is fouling, what can be more flagrant than that? Make it a flagrant foul.
  15. People liked the other crappy stadiums because they had no better options, this is an unforced error and most people aren’t going to like it because it’s measurably worse in every way to the reasonable alternative (with the added bonus of being far too expensive as it was built (for not explainable reason) at the absolute worst time to be building and financing something).
  16. I just like to hear other people say it, people like when someone pretends to be humble even when they obviously know they are great.
  17. It’s getting worse and that’s not the way you deal with problems, anyone watching should be able to tell that it’s in need of improvement. College football routinely makes improvements to things that impact the game, basketball can do it too. Making things better is good, not bad and you don’t have to be afraid.
  18. As an amateur aspiring expert on complaining I’d say those are pretty good reasons to complain
  19. The end is pretty unbearable and lacks the pace necessary for excitement, which is an injustice to the rest of the game which is rather exciting. What is played at the end of the game only barely resembles the rest of the game and that doesn’t make sense. People thought baseball would never change and even they took steps to improve because people don’t enjoy watching tedious time wasting and attention spans are only getting shorter. The end of the game would not make a good TikTok (for the six more months it will be legal) so the end of the game sucks.
  20. I mean every us major sport ultimately decides their champions the same way, so deciding who goes to a tournament being decided the same way isn’t that odd. I think the issue is that one and done in football makes more sense than it does in basketball and buy games aren’t super valuable in single elimination basketball either. Make a compromise and give the champion a true advantage, they require double elimination reseeding every round round to help accomplish this (they may have to play an extra game if they lose early to help accomplish it) or make it even more op and every other team plays in a tournament to have the tournament champion take on the conference champion (in ideally a best of three).
  21. Triple bonus comes to mind, or to modify bowman’s idea if you commit a foul you get a shortened shot clock to go with your free throw or if you commit x unreciprocated fouls it’s a technical foul and Will continue to be until you are fouled.
  22. Better yet let’s show the aau we belong! Hear me out- we build a Time Machine and then use that Time Machine to forever change the course of history by never joining this unfortunate conference to begin with. Sometimes divorce is the best answer and you shouldn’t try to stay together out of fear you may be alone forever. These have always been one game stand kind of teams and they aren’t made out of marriage material, play them one offs anytime you are desperate for a game but if they need commitment you are better off just going home and scrimmaging.
