Spring practice has always been fun for me as a hs coach. I get to meet alot of the college guys and have great conversations with them. We have been fortunate the last couple of years to have DI players so we get to see a bunch. this year we have a great one. I know that ND and Mich will be down to look at him plus all the Florida schools. I keep whispering USF in his ear - we'll see.

Right you are Smazza. How we do against Pitt will show us the rest of the season. There will be sloppy play on both sides because its the 1st game. As I said earlier, we will not be sneaking up on Pitt this time. If we play well win or lose we will be fine. If we play poorly, then it could be a long season.

Don't necessarily agree that winnng will attract. These guys are paid to find the best and if that means looking at DIII they will find them. Something is obviously missing from these two. Hopefully they will show their skills.

If we can't go into big places and win (Alabama) we will never get there. We need to beat Pitt and USC, we need to win the conference championship. We need to continue recruiting and we need to get some of the boys that UofF, FSU and Miami are getting.

Attendance stunk, offense stunk, need I say anymore. Great to meet some of the bullbackers (only good thing). Granted when you break up the offense you will have some problems- no cohesiveness. Running game could not get going for either side. Passing game was stopped by all the dropped passes. Play calling (again) was terrible. On 3rd and 15 we ran a quick out. Sarosi was out and didn't play, looks like Herron broke his collar bone. People - we need something done on offense. Maybe it is the players, maybe it is the coaching, however it is something and if Leavitt expects to win he needs to fix it. What I saw today looks like a 6 and 6 team. Hate to be so pessimistic however defense can't win games they can only prevent the other team from winning. If you can't score points you will lose. I hope that I am wrong and just venting, however I think I bought more beers then both teams had 1st downs.

What is the story on tickets for todays game? Is it free? Someone said that there would be a ticket in the St. Pete times. However I didn't see anything in the sports pages. I was already to run around my neighborhood stealing the morning paper from everyones driveway. My party has ballooned from 8 to 13 bulls fans so I need more.
