  1. The 1500 tickets you saw were and have only been available as full season tickets or 3 game packages with a choice of two thoer games that didn't include USF, as a choice. Many people were waiting for single tickets to go on sale, but UCF hasn't released them, because UCF still had $89 season tickets remaining for the rest of the season (only had 1 home game so far). Today, those $89 season tickets have been sold and the next season ticket seats are $125. The 3 game packages that started at $60 are now $135 as the cheapest available and going. So it's not like fans could just log in and buy USC tickets and be done with it. UCF never released single game tickets for anyone for the USC game. Since the demand is still high, why do so now? We heard tonight that there are less than 500 left, so it will sellout. And regarding BHNS, yes, it will be hot. Very hot. But so would any game at noon in September in Florida. Last I checked, Ray Jay doesn't have air conditioning, either. I've been to noon games in September at UCF and 1pm Bucs games and the sun was still just as hot in one as the other.
  2. South Carolina @ UCF just got announced for Noon on one of those 3 networks, as well. Ok St @ WVU is also slated for the same time on one of the 3.
  3. The 2008 game was early in the season and an overflow sellout crowd. UCF's 2nd year on campus, to boot with usf fans on our campus for the first time, in a major setting. This game won't be nearly as nuts and the tailgating has tamed down considerably. Not to mention it'll be a Black Friday game and possibly at noon. Most students will be home for the holidays. So I don't think the experience will be anywhere near as nuts. Unless by some crazy way both of our teams are actually playing for the conference title. Then there may be some hype. If both teams suck or UCF sucks, it'll be dead.
  4. The loss of the return game in Orlando sucks, but UCF will be getting like $2 million for this game and a national TV game. It's better than nothing. I personally think it's pretty cool. Most fans are cool with it. Many schools are playing neutral site games these days, anyhow.
  5. Golden, I'd say it's probably because you're...um...and I hate to say it...a UCF fan. There's that whole distrust thing, ya know, ulterior motives of a non-USF fan on our site. Well, that and the apparent fact that our little family squabbles over here have us ultra-suspicious and looking for an outlet. Thanks for that! And for the record, even Goldie doesn't want a trophy .... Unless there actually is a trophy given, of course. Too add to the other post, if you look at my posts, I never take jabs at USF. I may give my perspective from a UCF standpoint and defend UCF, but apparently justifying any UCF is as good as a jab, here. ... I feel pretty confident in saying, in lieu of your almost 4K posts here, without even looking, that is a load of crap ... Alright, so a few, give or take 100-200 or so. But that's merely a drop in the bucket within almost 4k, though.

  7. The game in 2008 @ UCF played on our campus was a sellout. 2006 was played at the Citrus Bowl in our last season there drew 46k. The USF/UCF game was labelled a sellout in Tampa in 2007, as well. However there were few thousand no-shows in the upper decks. If that makes you feel better about a 64-12 beatdown, more power to ya, chief. Yeah, there were a lot of empty seats by the second half... Why do y'all automatically think my post was a jab of some sort? It wasn't.
  8. Whatever makes you sleep better, Goldie .. . Facts are, that as a fledgling program, USF went to UCF to schedule games and were turned down. Only when you assclowns saw that USF was on the verge of passing you by did you feel the need to try and slow it down by getting a chance to beat us on the field. CJL would have none of that. Nice try on the revisionist history. When USF was 1-AA, yes. UCF was independent at that time and only a couple of years old as a 1-A member. We were playing like 4 home games a year, then and only had so many slots. Sloan pretty much had UCF on the road playing SEC, Big 10 and ACC schools for paychecks. USF hadn't even started to do anything yet, when UCF tried to schedule USF. But whatever, Triple. You'll believe what you want then ask for a link from 13 years ago to prove it.
  9. Comments like this make me want to avoid any connection whatsoever. Been reading those for years. They long ago accepted their lot in life as a peon, and now they're holding the door open for us to stupidly walk in and join them. They even joined the MAC for Football. Surrendered themselves to oblivion. Why would we want to be rivals, brothers, partners or friends with a program so comfortable just being a second or third tier program behind UF, FSU and Miami? Defeat comes easy to that program and their fans. I don't want to be identified as anything related to them at all. I'll continue to think we have higher aspirations and there is a path to the upper tier in the state and country that DOES NOT run through UCF. I don't agree that UCF accepted their lot in life. UCF didn't build their athletics village, practice facilities, a new on-campus stadium and arena with the idea of remaining mid-tier. It wasn't like we were like FIU and FAU. UCF started in Div. III and moved up to 1-A with aspirations as high as USF. Those aspirations have always been there. We just knew we had a long ways to go to be able to rival the state's big 3, back when USF was moving up into 1-A. We saw the rivalry as an opportunity to get fans excited for a local matchup that could build into something bigger as time went on to possibly steal the thunder away locally from the already established big 3 in-state rivalries. It wasn't until USF snubbed UCF before USF was even in CUSA that got it heated on our end. UCF was hoping to join a BCS conference back in 2003. UCF just didn't have the facilities and sufficient arena for bball and played in a dumpy ancient citrus bowl at the time. UCF didn't have the outlook from our AD, back before Orsini took over and never thought USF would be a threat that fast. Once UCF realized that USF played their cards right, UCF finally put the funds into athletics and facilities to put itself in a better position, for further expansion. We kind always knew it was coming, eventually. Meanwhile, we needed to take care of what we could control, and that was winning CUSA. It wasn't glamorous, but better than never doing so. If you ask any UCF fan, they'd much rather have rivalries with UF, FSU and Miami, as well. We'd rather be in one of their conferences than the AAC, too. The fact of the matter is that all of that is out of our control. USF has played Miami home and home for 6 years, yet only USF wants it to be a rivalry and it still isn't. So now, UCF and USF is in the same conference and no fan from either side would decline the idea of both moving up together into a P5 or whatever it ends up being, if that's what it had to take. Might as well make the most of this game now and hopefully both teams can be good enough to make it turn some heads towards our schools, instead of the other big 3. It isn't like FIU and FAU where they only draw 12k for their games. We already have shown large crowds for the games vs each other, so that proves there's great interest. UCF was invited to the big east prior to WVU, Rutgers, ND, Louisville and the catholic schools were invited elsewhere. It was a goal of UCF to move up even way back. It took longer for UCF than UCF, but it eventually happened, even though the big east fell apart, later.

  11. Honestly, I don't want a trophy for this game. Beating y'all is good enough. I don't even think UCF will sellout our game in Orlando. Black Friday will be a true test on how much anyone at UCF seems to care, anymore. There was a lot of passion about this game from UCF fans that stemmed well before USF was even in CUSA. We wanted a rivalry game that we didn't have. The big 3 wants nothing to do with either. It made sense. But now, some of that passion is gone. It's not a game anyone really talks about. None of the students that attended UCF in 08 during our last meeting are even there, anymore. I wish the game was earlier in the season though.
  12. They had to take an early flight back because they start camp. While somewhat understandable, it just doesn't look good for your new conference. They should've known ahead of time and made arrangements to be on "theamerican.org". IMO it shows no respect for your conference and your fellow conference mates.Totally inexcusable. Either start camp later tonight or tomorrow or let the assistants start the first day. Two kids and the HC missing for a couple of hours on the first day won't have any impact on the season. What a moron.Way to be supportive of the coference.Do you all even follow this stuff prior to what you read on here or even football in general? The conference and media were well aware of UCF's schedule. UCF starts the season on a Thursday this year, thus allowing them to push camp back earlier than most others. Camp is far more important for the head coach and actual players to attend, than the friggin' AAC media day. But UCF was still there in R.I. for it and GOL was interviewed this morning, along with QB Blake Bortles. UCF and GOL were the first session so they could get to the airport for their flight back. Nobody was snubbed. Jeez, some of y'all are so quick to jump to conclusions, before even reading ahead. Did you actually think UCF was going to snub this thing? B.S. I personally witnessed 2 interviewers with theamerican.org on the backdrop, specifically say that the ucf contingent did not speak with them. All of the other coaches did, and many players. Jeez, I saw it with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. No need for me to read ahead.UCF's session was in the morning, dude. Your own Greg Auman was there and posted updates from it in his blog today. Get with it and pay attention to what's going on. From his blog..."NEWPORT, R.I. -- Commissioner Mike Aresco has touted the renewed USF-UCF rivalry as one of the great new things to come with the American Athletic Conference, and as the league hosted its annual football media day, the two head coaches traded barbs in what will only build as the Bulls and Knights prepare for their meeting in Orlando on Nov. 29." Are you seriously trying to say that I didn't see and hear two interviewers talking about not getting a chance to talk to the gol? It wasn't the podium session; it was the 2 guys that spoke to the coaches/players after the podium session. Were you watching the proceedings? If not then you shouldn't speak with such certainty. You are dead wrong. Look at the picture of the 2 guys interviewing the SMU QB. They are the people that discussed gol not talking to them. Facts are facts, you can try to spin them as much as you want, but they are what they are. http://theamerican.org/sports/2013/7/11/FB_0711135801.aspx?id=10 American Football @American_FB Unfortunately, UCF had to leave early to catch a flight (team reports to camp today) & will not appear on our live show #AmericanKickoff Done and dusted son! Now that I've dusted myself off, I never said that GOL didn't have to leave early to catch a flight. His interview session was earlier than the one you watched and GOL was in R.I. getting interviewed on the webcast, as well. Just earlier. Like I said, GOL's interview was posted by your own Greg Auman who was there, as well in his TBO blog. And yes, the AAC was well aware of UCF's early departure, thus why GOL was first up early. Man, you all just want to hate and create such a dark cloud over UCF still, it's funny. And SEC coaches like Saban wouldn't ever leave their conferences early. Y'all are right about that. That's because they schedule theirs 2 weeks prior to their practices begin. So taste that dust or whatever dust you mean, who knows.
  13. Although we won't get that home game, most of our fans are actually pretty excited about this. At least those who can afford it. Once in a lifetime type of thing for UCF.
  14. You make a great point, I don't think that factors in for a school to be invited to a P5, because that would automatically be pre-considered. But say if the top AAC 6 and top MWC 6 form a 12 conference, that's gotta be considered. But whose to say that merger conference would get a TV deal to suffice, as well?
  15. If all go to 16, that will also leave 4 spots in the PAC, 2 in the SEC, B1G and ACC. Who would fill those slots? I think if they did require a certain amount, it should be 14 min and 16 max.

Nobody was snubbed. Jeez, some of y'all are so quick to jump to conclusions, before even reading ahead. Did you actually think UCF was going to snub this thing? That is a B.S. reason. This is the first media day for a conference that is gasping for attention right from the start. Like him or not, O'leary is a recognizable, senior Head Coach in the league. Not being available for a broadcast podium session is a stupid move. You can't tell me the league couldn't have worked with him to put him on early and he could have been on a couple of hours later. This conference is trying to step up to the next level. Imagine if Saban or Meyer or Spurrier or any other big name coach missed a media session like this. Sorry, when you sre trying to create as much publicity for the league I think missing a chance to show his face is inexcusable. O'Leary was at the podium and was broadcast on ESPN3. The session was earlier today. He also had his QB, Bortles there. They were up there the past few days. He'll, UCF's AD played golf with writer Pete Thamel and Cincinatti coach, Tommy Tuberville, yesterday. UCF represented up until they had to leave this morning. What more do you want? Taggert and O'Leary even traded funny barbs. From Auman's blog today.... "UCF coach George O'Leary, asked about how he's gotten to know USF coach Willie Taggart, started the fun by challenging USF's ambitious recruiting goals, which include keeping a presence in his backyard. "I was laughing. He got there and he said he's going to own the I-4 corridor," O'Leary said. "I said to him 'Obviously, you've got to go back and look at your geography.'" Taggart, smiling later in response, said he knew what he was saying when he said it, and his goal hasn't changed. "We're doing a pretty good job at it, too," said Taggart, who has six of his 12 commitments for 2014 from Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. "We're doing what we said we were going to do when we came here. I'm a football coach. I'm not into geography and all that. I think it's good for the state when you have something like that, good for both universities, to go out and compete against someone you don't like too well," he said. "It's always good to compete and have rivalries. I think that's what college football is all about."

  20. Unless Fox S1 is willing to shell over big cash and actually wants us that bad, I think we're gonna be on the AAC for a while together, boys and girls.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up for them Triple. I was referring to Orlando, since the prior post I quoted said UCF didn't get any ratings in Orlando. We did struggle playing Utep, Rice and Tulane, etc on Brighthouse or CBS College while in CUSA, though.
  22. And no big conference cares about past games. It's about how many eyeballs a school will bring to TV in the long run. tinmen university really don't get the eyeballs in central Florida. Trust me, I lived there for many years. Dr. Phillips high school get more eyeballs then ucf. Really? Did you come up with actual figures and go into houses or are you going by how many people were at the Ale House paying attention to a UCF game? While in CUSA, who was primarily on CBS College sports (certain games) and FOX regional for others or none, sure our TV viewers weren't as large as UF and other ESPN games. But UCF had one of the highest rated college football games all of last year in Orlando vs Ohio State. Sure it was Ohio State, but as USF fans know, conference affiliation and level if competition usually dictate that.
  23. I have to see how the holes on Defense get filled in before making a predition on wins but UCF's QB Bortles is the most talented QB GOL has had at UCF. If he continues to develop he will be the best QB after Bridgewater in the conference this season. No.
  24. Y'all talk talent separation and lopsided victories. The 2007 game was a beat down, no doubt, but the last time we played in 2008, went into OT with USF's Grothe at the helm and UCF finished 4-8 that year. But that's the past, we'll have to see what happens this year. Honestly, I think the AAC is Louisville's to lose, followed by Rutgers. With the rest being old CUSA and Temple, I see UCF at 7-8 wins. Hope one of them is vs USF to get that monkey off our backs. Marshall was 3-0 vs UCF while we were in the MAC, but has gone 0-8 vs UCF since we both joined CUSA. Things change. But it's all in good fun. See ya in November.
