  1. from greg's blog "He knows and I'm going to push him," said Jackson, who attended two years of community college before landing at USF two years ago. "Mike knows he's got to go what he has to do. He's seen the other side of things, same way as me. You don't get the grades, he's seen that side. "This should be smooth sailing. He's been going to class. He needs to get the work done. We know what he brings to the table on the field. Those running backs we have, they've got grades, and coach (Carl) Franks is going to play the guys who are doing it on and off the field. He's either going to do it, or he's not. But I'm going to be on him." if Ford fails it will be his own fault...thanks Amarri for keeping him straight.
  2. USF also reportedly sought permission to speak with Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer, a former West Virginia assistant, but he was not interested. EKU AD Mark Sandy would not comment on "personal matters :-? :-? :-?
  3. we need to show up for a very tough road game...only our best effort in all phases will give us a chance.
  4. "...There are a lot of guys back there who don't want to sit on the bench." gotta love CJL!

  6. great letter hard but factual. orlando's paper is crap, such poor crap it is not even good enough to wipe $hit
  7. hire the best man for the job..quickly please
  8. LRS was not AD by choice he was pushed into that spot by an administration that was scared shitless, for his background and experience the man preformed above and beyond all expectations. most importantly he did not drop the ball when it came to getting us into the BE. next to that ALL other transgressions can and should be forgiven and long forgotten, IMO.
  9. Griffin was good, but what I find funny about your fondness for him is the "mediocrity" that engrained itself at USF during Griffin's tenure.  Who did he fire for performance related issues?  Not to be a JoeBulls, but where were our higher expectations then? Griffin was good at what he did, but Herman would have noted that the man had no personality.  To be clear, Griffin accomplished a lot at USF while not posessing a cup of personality and allowing mediocre sports success.  I'm thankful for what he did, but I will not make him larger than life to overshadow other ADs, past and present. We got in the BE because of LRS and his team of people that worked tirelessly promoting USF to the Big East.  We'll be successful in the BE because of people like DW and his team. what is left out of your marginalization of a great...GREAT AD (griffin) is usf moved steadily up in conf. competeition during his entire tenure. not to put words in your mouth but are you saying given a chance of mediocrity in the BE we should have stayed in cusa or sunbelt or metro? griffin kept his focus on the prize of advancing usf athletics to better and better conf affiliation despite very poor resources and that rates the man an A+ in my book, mediocre coaches not withstanding.
  10. this is the kind of left field coach find that will bring more value per buck than more established prospects. IMO. why so long for him to find a HC job (11 yrs)?
  11. does ponton has issues? had great promise...what happened?
  12. i am no Bball purists...why can't the team practice in the place they play the sundome?
  13. 1. must be a builder in all facets 2. BE? :-? 3-3 in the dance? unimpressive 3. RMC fired. prematurely? impatience? 4. hot, traffic, no college atmosphere, apathetic fans or gator fans 5. they have not stepped up yet, they did not for seth or mac so i am not holding my breath...where will the $$$ come from? the way i see it DW will have to "buy" this hire personally and he will own it, he had a pass as long as RMC was here. i really hope he makes a great decision and it pans out well for USF...and him. IMO, from an AD (CYA) stand point, i don't know if firing RMC this year was ideal, though i have no problem with the decision.
  14. for a novice or a "pro" AD LRS did a heck of a job! he built on the foundation griffin put in place.
  15. he would be good for usf! if we had that talent here he recruited at UM i dare say we would be in the post season now!
  16. we miss you man, come on home. i miss your insight, i trolled this board for three years before posting, and always enjoyed his viewpoints. hope your come on back! usf football is about to have one heck of a year and the bball hire is the most excitement in 4 years.
  17. i disagree with that statement we have 4-5 BE talented guys. we have no depth and few big bodies.
