    gransberry may follow in those footsteps soon other positives, a well run program ncaa not sniffing around there is talent on this team so new coach is not starting from ground zero i do not expect anyone on this team to bolt when the new coach comes in a puts his program in place. i do wish mac the best, and hope he lands in a better situation. he has left the program in better shape than he found it, there is a solid foundation to build on. if the next coach cannot get traction in three years he should be gone, b/c he has few of the disadvantages that mac had to start with, IMO.

    what is USF going to invest in the Bball program will help to attract the best possible coach. we have a lot more going for us than when Mac was hired. 1. the BE best conf in the country 2. BE talent on the court(gransberry), needs depth 3. sundome upgrades on the way 4. exposure from the football program we still have lots of the negatives including tradition, fan support, multi-sport town ect. hope we land a gem of a coach in the leavitt/prado/fenandez mold

    my post got deleted? the 7 game losing streak to end the year was the straw that broke the camel's back, IMO. hope we get a name coach, and we commit the resources needed to make Bball better. the new coach at lease does not start with an empty cupboard.

    Football is the vision of CJL DW has been smart not monkey with it when DW showed up we were in the BE and had the strenght to be at the table, DW closed the deals and should get credit, but i doubt he would hang his hat as the football guy.

    that is the $64K question, that the darksiders seem to avoid (how did we get here?) also will giving mac another year that he is under contract for hurt this program more than we are now?

    And then when every single one of those goals is unmet, we'll be here in March of 2008 doing this all over again. no! we would be sitting here with more BE $$ (maybe some BCS football money ;D), less to pay mac, and more of the total ath infraturcture in place or on the way. and usf would have the REP of giving coaches a fair chance (3 years in BE) to prove themselves. DW would be able to step away from mac and justify putting serious $$ out in facilties and salaries to bring in a new coach.

    we had a minor "thug U" ala cinci snas the stellar record. with all the negative talk about CRM and all the misfortunes, this team for next year IS the best of his tenure. the team and record has improved in the toughest conference. the question: Is the growth fast enough? make no mistake if CRM leaves, this program would be in better shape than he found it...IMHO
