  1. I hope we see the same article in February and one for Franks as well.
  2. Well, you should plan on sitting at the back of the Mac Bus then. I think they are going to terrorize us inside. We've been far less than aggressive rebounding the ball so far this season. Jones hasn't met a legit center yet. This game has some interesting matchups and should provide a real test on the road. One which I don't expect us to pass with a win.
  3. This will be Solomon Jones' first test of the season. It will be interesting to see how he matches up against a legit center.
  4. SCBullsfan - I'm sure those who prejudged Coach Mac will find a way to put a negative spin on it.
  5. Cann still 20 lbs overweight. It may take him a few more weeks to get into playing shape.
  6. Let's face it.....we live in Tampa. Tampa only supports winners. The Bucs were empty for years before they won. The Bolts have had a difficult time with attendance until they made the Stanley Cup run. The Devil Rays don't have a chance in hell. The Bulls will draw big when they are national contenders and not until then. It's going to be interesting to see what happens if the Bucs have another horrid season. That BS inflated waiting list will disappear overnight.
  7. Moore had a lousy high snap on the 3rd missed FG. I was the only person in the resturant cheering on that play. I loved it. The Bucs shouldn't have let Benjamin go.
  8. Pitt and Cuse won't be hiring new coaches. No way Pitt fires Harris after he turned the season around. I think Coach P bought himself a year by upsetting BC but it will really depend on when the new AD is hired.
  9. You could've at least waited until April 1 to pull an April Fool's joke.
  10. Basketbull....you have to remember Coach Mac is very quiet regarding recruiting. You will have a hard time finding players we are involved with. Diarra stars can probably be attributed to a certain coach hyping him. Mattis hasn't been rated this year yet so he has no stars but I wouldn't concern yourself with the star system. Cann was a top 30 national prospect before the knee injury and Howard was a top 50 prospect before prep school. I can tell you we are talking to a few top 150 guys from the Northeast and one from the southwest. Kids who are juniors right now....we are talking to 5 or 6 top 50 kids.
  11. Brahman - you are correct the whole secondary has been horrible. I gave up on calling out Gipbson a long time ago. The best thing about this season is that it is his last. Williams, as I said at the beginning of the season has no business on defense, he would be playing offense. Jenkins really puzzles me. He had some great coverage early in the year and then disappeared. I think he'd make a better safety than a CB.
  12. We racked up over 400 yards again. Some very suspect calls throughout the game from Hobbie though. Defense was the reason this season was so bad!
  13. Those teams are dressing all of their walk on's. We've got 3 walk on's that we don't dress, plus a 2 transfers and 2 injured players. If we dressed all of them we would have 17 dressed.
  14. Waters' previously had a hip flexor injury and re-injured it yesterday in practice.
  15. Everyone makes such a big deal about the classic and rightfully so. However, look at their home attendance. It SUCKS!!!! FAMU is a one trick pony. They have a big crowd for the Classic and that's it. If FAMU had such a strong following they'd be putting more butts in the seats for thier home games. FAMU home attendance this year: Oct 02, 2004 VIRGINIA UNION 11,098 Oct 09, 2004 NICHOLLS STATE 8,196 Oct 23, 2004 SAVANNAH STATE 24,163 Oct 30,2004 FLORIDA ATLANTIC 13,436 That is an average of just over 14,000, including a large turnout for Savannah State which is another historically black school. Let's face it. The game between USF and FAMU will not be replacing the classic. If FAMU had such a great following their fans would be traveling to Tally to see them at home games. No, the Classic is what draws the FAMU and BCC fans. Fans of that game will spend money on weekend trips, events and the game but they won't spend money to see FAMU at home. I just don't see them opening their wallets to see them play USF.
  16. Howie - I just don't think you can compare a game with us to the Florida Classic. I look at this situation similar to buying a car. Assume you've made an offer on a car at Dealer A. You still want to consider buying from Dealer B so you stop by and take a look. You certainly aren't going to immediately say, "Hey I've offered Dealer A X amount for the car because that's what I can afford." Dealr B would love you. You just showed your cards and now he knows exactly how to work you. Guess what. We just told everyone what we could afford to pay a I-AA team to come to Tampa if we sell less than 31,000 seats. We don't have any negotiating power now. Other schools know the base we can afford and they will force negotiations to begin at that dollar or higher.
  17. guest - It will only be an annual series if the 12 game season is implemented and if so then all games will be in Tampa.
  18. Howie, a potential one game good deal if it sells out still isn't worth it.  You've now set the bar at $250,000 for what you are willing to pay a I-AA team to come to Tampa.  Other I-AA teams will exploit this and I-A teams will laugh and demand an extra $150,00 or more. This was a TERRIBLE deal.  While we may benefit in one game it will cost us a hell of a lot of money in the future.  Remember we only get 3 or 4 conference home games per year.  That means we will have to have 2 or 3 OCC home games per year.  Our future bills just got a lot more expensive. You can certainly mark this down as the first bonehead move Woolard has made at USF.
  19. That is one hell of a deal for FAMU. I think Woolard may have made a mistake in giving up that much cash. You know other teams are going to try to hold us to a higher dollar level now. If you'll pay a I-AA a base of $250,000 then you'd have to pay much more for a I-A opponent. I'd love to play poker with Woolard.
  20. I don't think USF will be the host team every year. I think FAU will be the host team next year vs FAMU.
  21. 10 wins is my expectation. 15 wins and I think Mac should get a 1 year extension.
  22. If I'm not mistaken the 5-8 rule is gone or on hold. Texas Tech signed 6 in the early period if I'm not mistaken. I think the only thing that limits us is the 13 scholarship total.
  23. Fortunately I'm one of the few who actually go to the games. I hate the fact that so many buy tickets and don't go. But there is no way they can open up those areas. I pay my donation for my right to sit there. You start letting everyone sit there for free and we'll all stop paying our donations.
  24. I've heard he's really improved since last year. Still having trouble keeping his weight down below 250. In fact, he has to weigh in to play. Above 250 and he sits. Below 250 he plays.
