There is no guaranteed spot for a specific conference. I've lost track of what's been finalized for the 12 team playoff in 2024 and 2025 but, depending on what happens with the Pac 2, there will either 9 or 10 conferences fighting for 5 or 6 guaranteed playoff spots ....

So is the Pac2 going to be considered as eligible for one of those spots?

From what I have heard, no they would only qualify as an at large

  2. The latest for 2024 and 2025 is

    The top 5 Conference Champions

7 at large. So basically if you aren’t in Top12 in ranking you aren’t getting an at large.

    What this leads to is

SEC/BigTen and ND basically taking those 7 at large.

The chances of the ACC or Big12 having another school outside their champion in Top 12 is minimal.

Another reason that makes ACC schools paying a big exit fee for a similar media deal in B12 to also compete for one CFP spot there, not a real good decision.

I totally understand where you're coming from however it's one thing to lose a game and it's another to look utterly inept. At least that's why I'm taking this loss extra hard.

When we lost to WKU, there were flashes of a good team who still needs to grow. Yesterday was complete mierda. The team from yesterday triggered our PTSD from past years teams as we looked utterly outclassed.

I still don't think the coaches need to be fired by any means but goodness we can't let whatever team showed up yesterday show up again. Our coaches need to help the players come prepared for the next one. Go Bulls!

Completely agree. The team did not look good yesterday and was certainly outclassed. I expect our coaches to ádrese that. Missed tackles and bad angles can be addressed. Other issues can’t be diminished but will need to be addressed in offseason. Lack of breakaway speed at RB, WRs that can consistently get open and catch the ball, corners that can cover WRs.

We aren’t as good as we thought after the two wins and aren’t as bad as we looked yesterday. Now let’s see how coaches and players react to that.

When speaking of attendance woes, we must include our new conference mates as part of the problem.  What was that yesterday?  The attendance at UAB was pitiful.  Is that tied into our team's performance?

UAB announced attendance was 23792, somebody should inform the Times.
and Miami announced 58,000+ at theirs

UAB ****-show won’t help for next week.

No doubt. This team is better than past three years but it’s not as good as most fans thought after those two wins.

Im hoping for 20k in seats and announced 33k. Reality is that many that have tickets will watch on tv instead.

  6. Funny to read the mood of this board after a win and a loss.

We win 2 in a row and people are talking about winning AAC

Lose a game and coaches suck and should be fired.

Here is a reminder we are a program with 1 FBS win in 3 years and 4-21 in that period and were dead last on defense last year. We are now 3-3

This team still lacks talent and that was shown yesterday, UAB had faster and better WRs and RBs than we did, And defensively we still to get better up front and in coverage.

Good news we are recruiting well, if we can get those kids signed and get help from portal we will be fine.

At the beginning of season, I thought 4-8 would be our record or 6-6 if things bounced our way.

    Basically this.

it’s all about eyes and number of fans.
all of those Texas and fly over schools In the big12 are football hungry. For that reason, it might be a better conference for our football program. (I also think our rivalry with UCF is good for both university, and we should cultivate the rivalry to increase ratings if we are both in autobid conferences).

Is the big 12 better than the ACC for non-football sports? For academics? For the athletes?

A gutted ACC without Clemson, FSU, UNC…. It might be worse than the big 12.

Ok, everyone needs to take a deep breath nothing has happened yet.

    1. Facts are that USF won’t get in ACC as long as FSU is there.

    2. The Big12 took ucf and is at 16 members if they add schools ACC ones will be looked at before USF

    3. The SEC has 16 members, the BigTen has 18, really doubt any of them goes over 20. So that means at most 6 ACC schools get raided. And honestly other than FSU, Clemson, UNC and maybe Virginia as both SEC and BigTen would like a member in that state. I don’t see any other that those two would want and increase or match their payout.

    4. The ACC has 17 schools not counting ND. Even if 6 left for SEC/BigTen, that would leave 11. Even if Big12 took 4 so all three would have 20 that still leaves 7 ACC schools.

    5. So it really looks that if the ACC would be raided by those three, they would still have 7-9 schools and would probably add schools like USF, Navy, Tulane, Memphis, Air Force, Colorado St, SDSU. To get to 16

is that better than Big12, maybe not, but it’s better than what we have now.

    Example:

    East

Syracuse, Boston College,Wake Forest, Duke, UConn, Navy,USF, Georgia Tech

    West

    Tulane, Memphis,SMU,Air Force,Colorado St,SDSU,Stanford,Cal

This is the way you got to think. USF is. going to have one of the top 10 highest payments on stadiums in the country so you want it full as much as you can.

Exactly which is why you don’t waste that on opening game. That game will be a sell out regardless of opponent, everyone would want to be there.

I’m all down for a fixed dome for Florida. On average the Marlins have the roof open for 11-12 games out of 81, waste of money.

Problem is that if we are building a stadium that we might be expanding in future, a fixed dome roof wouldn’t work. I’m fine with starting with an overhanging roof over the sideline seatings
