  1. From the USF Athletics Site: http://gobulls.usf.edu/Sports/News.asp?i=2003&s=Basketball USF Women Win Fifth Straight; Take Best Western Classic Title Tampa, FL (November 27, 2005) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team improved its record to 5-0 this afternoon with an 83-58 win over Robert Morris University in the championship game of the USF Best Western Roundball Classic. Jessica Dickson (Ocala, FL) capped off an unbelievable offensive week with her second consecutive 30-point game, netting 32 points on 10-17 from the field and 2-3 from three-point range. In addition, she was 10-11 from the free throw stripe in the win. For her efforts, Dickson was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. “It was a win and a win without two starters,†said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “If you had told me at the beginning of the year that we would be without Rachael Sheats (Marietta, GA) and Tristen Webb (Stone Mountain, GA), and that we would be 5-0 – playing Texas-Arlington and Robert Morris – I’d say you were crazy. This game was good for us today. We walked the ball up the floor and controlled tempo. We really played just five or six kids and didn’t even press, so in general I was happy.†The Bulls jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead just two-and-a-half minutes into the contest and never looked back. USF used a blistering 66.7 percent (10-15) clip shooting in the first 10 minutes of the half while holding the Colonials to a dismal 16.7 percent (2-12) over the same stretch. The Bulls would increase their lead to as many as 17 points three time in the first stanza, and would take a 45-32 lead into the intermission. Robert Morris would come out in the second half and tried to establish the tempo, and would eventually cut USF’s lead to six points using an 11-4 run which was capped off by a Psyche Butler free throw with 16:25 left in the game. The Bulls, however would take over outscoring the Colonials 34-15 from that point on en route to the win. In addition to Dickson, USF also got double figure scoring efforts from Nalini Miller (Capital Heights, MD), who tallied 15 points, and Jessica Jackson (Roswell, GA) who dropped in 11 points. Miller also turned in her second double-double of the year grabbing a season high 13 rebounds. For the game, the Bulls shot 49.2 percent (30-61) from the field, including an impressive 53.8 percent (7-13) from three-point range. Butler paced the way for Robert Morris with 17 points and DeSheyna Perry added 10 points in a losing effort. Joining Dickson on the all-tournament was Miller, RMU’s Butler, a Brittnie Hughes of UMBC, and Marquise Hasner of Loyola (IL). USF will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 2 when it faces North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are currently ranked No. 7 in the current Associated Press and No. 8 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 polls. The Bulls will return home for their inaugural BIG EAST Conference game on Wed. Dec. 7 when they face No. 17/17 DePaul at 7 p.m. in the Sun Dome. For ticket information please call the USF athletic ticket office at 1-800-GoBulls. USF Post Game Notes - USF’s 5-0 start is the best five-game start since the 2001-02 season when the Bulls went 7-0 to start the season. - USF’s win over Robert Morris in the Sun Dome is its eighth straight win on its home floor dating back to last year … In addition the Bulls are 19-2 on their home turf since the beginning of the 2004-05 season and 23-2 since defeating No. 18 TCU, 89-84, in double overtime on Feb. 2, 2004. - Jessica Dickson’s 32 points marked her fourth 30-point game of her career and her second straight … It was her fourth consecutive game of 20 or more points this season. - Her point total against Robert Morris was also Dickson’s fourth straight 20-plus point game and the 27th of her career … She has tallied double figures in 58 of 66 games, and 20-plus in 30 of the 58. - Sharon Cambridge got her first start of the season. - Rachael Sheats out with a right knee injury (MRI Monday or Tuesday) missed just her second game of her career Sunday … In addition she had her 58-game consecutive games played streak snapped … It was the first game she missed since Dec. 14, 2003 against Florida State. - With the loss of Rachael Sheats, walk-on Courtney Hunt dressed for the first time in her career and saw three minutes of action … She recorded one assist, one foul, and a turnover. Someone has to show me how to dress this up to look real nice like the other posts that articles, cause my posts look ugly
  2. from the USF Athletic Site: http://gobulls.usf.edu/Sports/News.asp?i=2002&s=Basketball USF Women Get 66-56 Win Over UMBC For Fourth Straight Victory Tampa, FL (November 26, 2005) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team faced its first tough test of the season this afternoon in the opening round of the Best Western Roundball Classic. The Bulls (4-0), who entered the game defeating their opposition by an average of 32 points per contest, earned a hard fought 66-56 win over the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (2-1) in back of a season high 33 points from All-America candidate Jessica Dickson (Ocala, FL), the BIG EAST Conference’s leading scorer. The win extends the Bulls’ winning streak to four games which is the longest since season opening streak USF went 7-0 to start the 2001-02 campaign. USF will now face Robert Morris at 2 p.m. on Sunday for the title of the Classic. The Colonials were 66-57 winners over Loyola (IL) in the first game of the afternoon. The Bulls found out quickly that they would be in for a fight early on. The two teams went back and forth with neither leading by more than four points during the first half. UMBC looked to get the first big break at the end of the first stanza, and seemed to carry the momentum into the locker room when the Retrievers’ Sharri Rohde hit a mid-court shot as the buzzer sounded to cut the USF lead from four points to one (29-28). The two teams would continue to go toe-to-toe during the second half until Dickson decided to take over with 4:54 left in the contest. With the two teams tied for the 10th time in the game, Dickson drained a three-point shot and was fouled by Rohde in the process. Dickson would go to the line and convert the four-point play. During the final 4:54 Dickson would tally 11 of her 33 points to put the game out of reach, all while the Bulls put together a 13-3 run during that stretch to close out the game. USF only shot 37.7 percent (26-69) from the field while UMBC hit for 42.9 percent (21-49). The Bulls, however, forced the Retrievers into 21 turnovers on the afternoon which led to 22 points. In addition to Dickson, who also tallied a season high 10 rebounds, was joined by Nalini Miller (Capital Heights, MD) and Ezria Parsons (Bushnell, FL) in the double figure scoring column with 15 and 11 points respectively. Parsons also shared rebounding honors with Dickson grabbing 10 in the win. For the second time this season, however, the Bulls left the floor with a bittersweet taste in their mouths after a win. Just 1:33 into the contest Rachael Sheats (Marietta, GA) would leave the game with a right knee injury. The extent of the injury will not be known until further evaluation. In USF’s first exhibition game of the preseason, against EA Sports on Nov. 9, Tristen Webb (Stone Mountain, GA) went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee ending her season. “We got our best player the ball in the second half and she made plays,†said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “We put her in the position to make shots and she made the baskets. But here we go again, another possible knee injury. I mean we won’t know until Tuesday.†“They’re a good team (UMBC) they make you defend, they spread the floor, and they run good stuff offensively. We were not shooting the ball well and it became a half-court game, but we squeaked out with a win, and right now, we’re going to have to find ways to win with eight kids and three of them being freshman. USF will face Robert Morris at 2 p.m. Sunday in the championship game of the Best Western Roundball Classic. Loyola (IL) and UMBC will face off in the consolation game at noon. For ticket information please call the USF athletic ticket office at 1-800-GoBulls. USF Post Game Notes - USF’s win over UMBC in the Sun Dome is its seventh straight win on its home floor dating back to last year … In addition the Bulls are 18-2 on their home turf since the beginning of the 2004-05 season and 22-2 since defeating No. 18 TCU, 89-84, in double overtime on Feb. 2, 2004. - Jessica Dickson’s 33 points marked her third 30-point game of her career and the first since Feb. 26, 2005 when she tallied 34 against UAB … It was her third consecutive game of 20 or more points this season. - Her point total against UMBC was also Dickson’s third straight 20-plus point game and the 26th of her career … She has tallied double figures in 57 of 65 games, and 20-plus in 29 of the 57. - Dickson has hit 14 straight free throws since the season opener … She was 5-5 against the Retrievers, 6-6 against Jacksonville on Nov. 23, and hit her last three shots from the charity stripe against Texas-Arlington in the season opener on Nov. 19. - Dickson started in her 65th consecutive game this since arriving at USF. - Dickson’s 33-point, 10-rebound double-double is her first double-double since an 18-point, 11-rebound effort against Saint Louis on Jan. 21, 2005 … It was also her fourth career double-double. - Dickson’s 40 minutes played was the 11th time in her career that she has played 40 or more minutes, and the 33rd time in her 65 collegiate games that she has logged 35-plus minutes. - Nalini Miller’s 15 points marks the second straight time this year that she had double figures, and the third time this year. - Miller’s two blocked shots marks the fourth straight game she has had a rejection … She currently has 89 career blocked shots, which is second all-time on USF’s career list. - Ezria Parsons’ 11 points is her third straight double figure scoring game of the year. - Parsons’ 11 points and 10 rebounds mark’s the sixth double-double of her career. Looks like the Lady Bulls are once again for REAL and deserves to have a LARGE CROWD at the games.  Lets hope that this season will see them consistently in the top 25.!!!
  3. Outcome aside....Terry you came through for me big time. Thanks for not letting the Canadian Contingency down with the game. I was **** depressed after your last text telling me the outcome, however I had to laugh a min for the way you told me. I felt the exact same way and had to explain it to my Contractor and his wife how BIG College ball is for us die hards. They understood and simpathized with me. My wife already knew and was upset along with me. To Bulls fans everywhere, This season is still a HUGE success, since we beat all expectations except for ours, which means that in everyone else's eyes (Media) we did well. and....... WE'RE STILL GOING BOWLING!!!!! FIRST TIME EVER!!!!
  4. Yeah, GM Terry and other die hards The only thing I will regret is that I won't be able to watch or hear the game today, as my wife and I have a very important meeting with our Building contractor and the engineer today (We are building our own restaurant Bar & Grill). However I will have our cell phone if someone were to want to send me text of the scores periodically (506 612-0227), I would feel honored to thank them in some way.
  5. Wasn't some poor schmuck killed by the goalposts coming down somewhere this year? I would sure hate to be that person. I am sure you would hate to be that person celebrating on the field close enough to those TALL goal posts when you are looking away at some hot chick right beside you and the goal post comes down and BONK......You're dead.
  6. You've got the Canadian contingency thinking about you in our thoughts and prayers. Stay focused and think positive thoughts.
  7. Unfortunately we lost in PK's Sudden Death. But it was a hell of a ride. Thanks to the Soccur Bulls for giving us a great season, and knowing that next season will be even better than this one. Thanks to Vicki for providing the PBP at the end. Awesome chat room people......Never seen so much support for the Soccer team from here. Feels great to be a BullsPen member and a Bull....
  8. We are losing the battle of the Shots On Goal though so We had better step it up a notch and get our shot on
  9. Hard to believe this is just the first half. This is an abnormal amount of scoring for a half.
  10. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/11/22/ugly.dog.ap/index.html From CNN.com 'Ugly dog' Sam dies at 14 Canine gained celebrity as winner of ugliest animal contest SANTA BARBARA, California (AP) -- Sam, the dog whose ugliness earned him TV appearances, limousine rides and even a meeting with millionaire Donald Trump, has died, the Santa Barbara News-Press reported Tuesday. The pooch with the hairless body, crooked teeth and sparse tuft of hair atop his knobby head died Friday, just short of his 15th birthday, said his owner, Susie Lockheed. "I don't think there'll ever be another Sam," she said, adding wryly, "Some people would think that's a good thing." Sam became an international celebrity after winning the ugliest animal contest at the 2003 Sonoma-Marin Fair in California -- a victory he twice repeated. The purebred Chinese crested hairless made appearances on TV in Japan, radio in New Zealand and in Britain's Daily Mirror tabloid, stayed in luxury hotels and met Trump on a talk show set. Lockheed marketed his visage on T-shirts, a calendar and even a coffee "ugly mug." At the time of his death, Sam was scheduled to be filmed for a Discovery Channel series on the world's ugliest species. Lockheed said she was initially terrified of Sam when she agreed to take him in as a rescue six years ago on a 48-hour trial basis. Although she fell in love with him, his appearance repulsed her then-boyfriend and prompted the man to break up with her. Later, however, Sam became a matchmaker by bringing together Lockheed and her current beau, who saw a picture of the two on an online dating site. Lockheed said she had Sam euthanized after a veterinarian told her Sam's heart was failing. She said she's felt a little lost ever since, and is sleeping with Sam's favorite toy -- a stuffed bear he picked up and carried home. "I have snuggled Sam under my blankets on my bed for six years," said Lockheed, who has three other dogs named TatorTot, TinkerBell and PixieNoodle. Sad day for Ugly Pets everywhere!!! Who was it that had this dog as their signature?
  11. Anyone know if there are any links to follow the soccer game tonight? The last game had a gametracker of sorts. The USF athletics site doesn't have anything listed for Audio/Stats this time around.
  12. HOWEVER... All the in-fighting and macho BS that has gone on here including the Name calling, and attacking people MUST stop.  I think we all don't mind the light bashing (with tongue in cheek) of our opponents and rivals, but Personal attacks and Dumb retorts against our fellow bulls, made in anger are just JUVENILE.  That drives people away. So keep it family friendly and gentlemanly.
  13. I know we all see great things coming from these Bulls. They have given us GREAT reasons to cheer. But never look past ANYONE. Case in point. Oct. 16, 2004 ARMY 42 USF 35
  14. The "Watch Party" denotes to me that the game will NOT be played at USF? If we won the Conference why wouldn't the remaining games be played here? What was the approximate attendance for the game?
  15. For Game Audio, online you won't be able to use the link of the USF sports website. You have to go to the radio station website and click on LISTEN LIVE! Here is the link http://www.970wfla.com/ Then on left side is a listen live link. Enjoy
  16. Just wondering how the attendance been at the Soccer stadium. The Bulls are playing for first place and are actually unbeaten at home (When playing Big East opponents). I remember going to a few games when I was in school and the attendance was about a few hundred on a good day.
  17. You tell em Mag....I have never seen you being territorial ;D
  18. You aren't a registered user so this is the only way I have of contacting you.  Woodstock is 2:30 hours away from Moncton, and 1:30 from St. John.  If you took I-95 all the way to its end, it ends in Woodstock New Brunswick.  The bordering sister city is Houlton Maine.  If you or ANYONE are up in our neck of the woods (and I do mean WOODS literally cause NB's main export is lumber), feel free to let me know.  I check the board every day several times a day. ;D
  19. Dobras - Continues to be one of the most popular players ever to come out of USF athletics. Also one of the classiest. ;D
