  1. That's good enough for me... Congrats usfbob83, please send me an email - bulliever@southfloridabulls.com
  2. I am only impressed with his alleged standing as a USF Alumnus if he is contributing heavily (relative to pay) to USF. Other than that, he's just another guy. By the way - an alumnus does not necessarily have to graduate from a school. Attendance = Alumnus.
  3. I think the best message in the story is how Bulls fans set unrealistically high expectations even in the light of concrete evidence things are not that good.  Who could have, after last year, thought we would be significantly better this year?  Answer: About 80% of the people on this board.  We're about the same (with a weakened defense) as last year, but we all seem to have expected a 9-2 campaign knowing we had no one in the QB position that could get us there and that we lost a lot on defense.  The poll on the front page still shows that fully 59% thought we'd be 8-3 or better. 78% thought 7-4 or better.  If we got fired for our baseless expectations and our incorrect polling decisions, none of us would likely be here.   Settle down.  Most of us grew with this team the last 7 years...we got teeth coming in now, and some growing pains, but I am sure there will be another growth spurt not too far down the road.  Sack it up and stay with the program.

  5. USF's Gipson on ESPN ESPN has announced that a piece they have produced on USF defensive back Bruce Gipson will air tonight (Friday a.m.) at 12:41 a.m. on Outside the Lines. The piece was constructed the week of October 4 and details the death of Gipson's brother while rescuing a family from drowning in Daytona Beach. USF defensive back Javan Camon, a cousin to the family, also interviewed for the piece as did the rescued family and Gipson's mother.
  6. Army is on the scroller - It has South Florida 00, Army 00 - the Louisville game follows as "next up." Simply waiting on Saturday to put in the USF-Army score - I mean, really Omni, who wanted to look at the USF-USM score for two weeks??? ;D

  8. No offense, but I think we said that three years ago after successive top recruiting classes. It is clear there is a significant piece missing.
  9. I'm a little late getting the postgame audio up this week, but it'll give us something to do while we sit out this weekend looking forward to the Army game. SFB Writer Matt delivers big with some great audio from Coach Leavitt and Andre Hall.  Coach talks about the penalties as well as PJ's knee.  Andre talks about his night and the team's pass/rush mix.  All in all, very good insight after the 27-20 loss. Bulls/USM Postgame Audio
  10. Yep, Sheriff...ever since Monica Lewinsky found an alternate use for cigars, they've become quite popular.
  11. I can tell it's time to have another talk with my adopted son.
  12. And if you haven't noticed, Mike is going in and adding informative captions to the pics - see the TCU pics for an example. I hope you enjoy Mike's effort.
  13. Some are available here, via a deal with CollegeJersey, but at a reduced rate.  Some may no longer be in inventory, but if you're interested I can inquire, I think my deal with College Jersey allows me to sell to USF fans via the site at about $20 less. The players get a chance to get jerseys.  I have offered in the past to use the auction site here as a way to auction off game jerseys for the school, but have not been given any consideration.  USF jerseys at THe Bulls Market
  14. From the USF SID Office USF-Pittsburgh Game Re-Scheduled for Saturday, December 4 (October 6, 2004) The University of South Florida and the University of Pittsburgh have agreed to re-schedule their postponed football game to Saturday, December 4 in Raymond James Stadium. The game is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Presently, there is not a commitment for television, but the two schools and ESPN continue to discuss live coverage opportunities for that date. Saturday presents the best possible options for television opportunities. The game had originally been scheduled for Monday, September 6 on ESPN, but Hurricane Frances forced a postponement. “Pittsburgh has proven to be an outstanding partner throughout the discussions regarding a re-scheduled date for our game,” says USF Director of Athletics Doug Woolard. “We certainly appreciate their cooperation and patience in seeing this process to completion. We realize it’s important for fans of both programs to be able to plan their December 4 weekend and we’re happy to finalize the date. We join Pittsburgh in continued discussions with ESPN to keep the game televised as originally planned.”
  15. RSS - thanks for all the nice words. We appreciate your compliments. BTW, No one should forget we play the 'Cocks in basketball in two months...hope to have some more dialogue with SC fans before we go up to Columbia again this year.
  16. BigMatt's latest look at the Bulls is uploaded and ready for you to read. Some great stuff including: Jim Leavitt:  “We had it. I thought we had it. I thought we had it all the way to the onside kick to be honest with you. Honest to God I thought we were going to get the ball and put it in the end zone. Go to overtime and then I’d breathe and see how we do in the overtime. In all I felt pretty good. I never had a thought that we weren’t going to win this ballgame until we touched the onside kick to early and they got the ball. That’s the first time this game I thought, it doesn’t look good.” Read the rest of Matt's Coverage
  17. I will be in Tampa, but would like to invite others not able to attend the game, to join fellow Bulls in the chat room as our Bulls take on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Go there!
  18. I'll use the "send topic" feature to send this whole thread to him - in addition to the personal thanks he will receive from some of us here at TheBullsPen.com.
  19. Good story...nice find...good to hear their angle on the job I think, until recently, many took for granted.
  20. I agree. I never saw this offered anywhere when we had that **** logo. Mine will be in Bulliever's Bulls Room at the new casa in AZ - we close next Friday!!!!
  21. Mat is made of 18 oz. face weight carpet tufted of high luster yarn and has been chromo-jet printed, allowing for unique, full penetration of color down the entire tuft.  Thorough inspection ensures this mat’s superior quality, resulting in an attractive, FUN item that any fan would love to own! Dimensions: 25"x39" ·      Officially Licensed Collegiate Product ·      Made in the USA ·      Plush surface ·      Durable Latex backing ·      Machine washable I bid on one of these and won not too long ago. A brand new perfect article for those that have a "Bulls Room."  I really like mine... 22. Well done BW, I'm proud to be associated with you. Best wishes to the Hixon's.
  23. Right...5K for us to paint the endzones. Do you really thnk the Bucs pay to have their logo painted? Do they pay for parking lotzis? Very doubtful...Community Stadium...Fooled citizens - you magnified the Glazers wealth at least 20 fold and screwed the rest of the community.
  24. I was fortunate enough to see the entire game with ESPNs GamePlan ONLINE...but... Many people here love to take shots at USF admin, AA, Marketing, etc. (I have too), but when the effort is made to provide this clip on the site they deserve many kudos. Like John Gerdes coming to the board to give all a heads up to the replay on Brighthouse. I couldn't take advantage of that in my market, but I thought that was a GREAT thng for John to do for the Bulls fans that have B-house. Thanks a lot Bulls Club and SID!!
