The breakdown

(1) Each conference will receive $300,000 for each of its schools when the school's football team meets the NCAA's APR for participation in a post-season football game. Each independent institution will also receive the $300,000 when its football team meets that standard.

(2) Each of the 10 conferences will also receive a base amount. For conferences that have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose or Sugar Bowl, the base combined with the full academic performance pool will be approximately $54 million for each conference. The five conferences that do not have contracts for their champions to participate in the Orange, Rose or Sugar Bowls will receive approximately $81.32 million in aggregate (full academic pool plus base), which the conferences will distribute as they choose. Notre Dame will receive a payment of $2.65 million if it meets the APR standard; the other three independents will share $928,503.

(3) A conference will receive $6 million for each team that is selected for the semifinal games. There will be no additional distribution to conferences whose teams qualify for the national championship game. A conference will receive $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the arrangement (in 2017-18, the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls).

(4) Each conference whose team participates in a playoff semifinal, Cotton, Fiesta or Peach Bowl, or in the national championship game will receive $2.25 million to cover expenses for each game.

I can't put much stock in DJ'd comments. I could have told you he was frustrated from the beginning, No player likes their role to change when they find success doing something one way.

For the first time in my season ticket life I'm considering not renewing my USF football season tickets as is my seat mate.  My non-renewal thoughts are for lots of reasons, not just the level of inequity on the field.  Your latter option is a very real possibility for me. 

I can’t hate you for that choice. I choose to shut up take what they give us. Let’s play their game and dominate it. I love taking 2-1’s because we get three games to prove our point the right way, by beating them on a consistent basis. Yes we travel most of time , yes it takes a long time for this to make an impact but I think it’s worth it. They have to expand at some point, let’s be the ones who shook their hands and competed with them, not the ones who called them out and claimed their titles as our own.

Its hilarious that you believe the P5 cares what the G5 fan base thinks or wants. They will just take their ball and all their money and tell us to kick rocks. They have the money and college football is a business. Be valuable to them, shut up and take what they give you or leave, that's the only options.

What did all the publicity and solidarity get him? a contract? The big money in the NFL looked at his cause for justice and all the publicity said no, ill pass on that. I agree from a social stand point its great, but if your goals are football related, sticking it to the man is not going to do anything but turn the man against you. We can't get to where we want to be by turning the P5 against us and making it an "us" against "them" situation, because they will win, hands down.

i'm not sure Kap is the example the G5 wants to follow. Not diminishing his stance or his cause but I would rather avoid the blackball result. Which is why this move can be considered stupid. props to Kap for finding a calling higher than football but maybe the G5 should go a different route. Taking  2-1's with  P5 teams to get them on the schedule is a great step in the right direction, claiming a false national title is the exact opposite.

That's not necessarily a good thing......There'e no need for a P5 label if they have their own division. 

I think if you were to compare USF/UCF to Alabama, then yes, I can blindly agree that there is a significant difference in resources. But if you're comparing USF to UCF or vise versa, I would need to see the numbers to show a significant difference. One could say that they have had more of the greatest resource of all, time.

If it's only money, cite the budgets. They got tv money and conference payouts too, might not have been what we got but the idk how much they get in donation every year either. Again Idk who has had a bigger budget, but the idea that we had more money because of our ties to the BE is a little flawed.

Senior Levi Borders will receive the heartiest ovation when he makes his first home plate appearance.

A unanimous first-team All-American Athletic Conference catcher in 2015, Borders — sidelined nearly two full years by various physical ailments — is back on the active roster. First-year coach Billy Mohl confirmed Borders is on pace to return to action.

Borders, who started all 61 games at catcher (throwing out 26 runners) and hit .291 in '15, made 16 starts the following year before being sidelined with a bacterial infection. He took a medical redshirt last season, and re-joins the team as its oldest player (25).

His role for 2018, or how effective he'll be in it, remains uncertain.

Borders had limited action in fall workouts, and the Bulls return junior Tyler Dietrich, who made 39 starts at catcher last season. The Bulls do have a designated-hitter job vacated by Borders' younger brother, Luke, who hit .338 with a team-best 53 RBIs last year.

We expect to have a more extensive talk with Mohl about Borders' 2018 outlook as early as Friday. Stay tuned.

college playbooks and off season workouts have a way of humbling athletes. Also the person fellow students see and the person that teachers see, can often be two completely different people.

I know in an earlier thread his fortitude was questioned. given all the preseason hype for SM. Do you guys think his play will regress?

Losing Merrell will hurt. But you gotta hope the three all conference players will build from last season and take over as leaders. AP coming back is nice. If Mohl has the bullpen going, we will be a hard team to beat.
