Too busy absorbing reporting on alleged Spring Game attendance...

For real though, I used to be harsh on Jk but decided to lighten my stance against him as I realized that his hands might be tied on some things, but as a beat writer for a school how does the biggest offensive threat for the baseball team get suspended for five games and you not have something on it?

  2. The Bulls also lead the AAC in hits (385), runs (249), RBIs (225), doubles (98), triples (14) and total bases (604). It ranks fourth in the league with 31 home runs, but junior 1B Joe Genord is tied for second individually with nine.

"We've got a veteran group," first-year coach Billy Mohl said after Tuesday's 7-1 home triumph against North Florida. "They're all juniors in our lineup, that's what we expect of them. Coach (Chuck) Jeroloman and Coach (Chris) Cates have done an unbelievable job with our hitters."

  3. "Babers raved about Culpepper's positive attitude, on and off the field, before and after the diagnosis. Culpepper is in New York City getting treatment, but he has also been splitting time in Tampa.

Babers said Culpepper's prognosis is good, and he could eventually return to football, once the doctors clear him."

Hoping for continued progress towards recovery.

  4. TAMPA — His collection of skills seems to ooze NFL draft jargon: hip swivel, burst, agility, leverage, active hands.

Over the past three or four months, most — or all — of these attributes have been affixed to USF defensive lineman Bruce Hector.

"Most people talk to me about my athleticism," the former Robinson High three-sport athlete said. "My hands, quick feet, good hips. My ability to get upfield — when they watch that on film they like that."

To be sure, the Bulls' 2017 sacks leader (seven) is neither the fastest or even fiercest of his team's draft prospects. Most would agree those titles belong to wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling and fellow interior defensive lineman Deadrin Senat, respectively.

But consider how Hector lined up at nose tackle and three-technique in the Bulls' four-man front. Ask his high school basketball coach about his gracefulness  girth aside — on the basketball court. Let his position coach — also Robinson's wrestling coach — tell you what a force of nature he could've been on the mat.

One might come away convinced that pound for pound, Hector could be the best overall athlete of USF's 2018 prospects.

Does Bruce go first for the Bulls?

  5. Hurts will leave if he doesn't win job.

"Coach Saban's job is to do what's best for his team. I have no problem with that," Averion Hurts said. "My job is to do what's best for Jalenand make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. He loves Alabama, loves Coach Saban and everything about that place. But he wants to play, and he will play…"

Averion stops mid-sentence because the idea of his son not playing for Alabama isn't one he takes lightly. What if Jalen doesn't win the job, he is asked?

He shakes his head slowly, answers begrudgingly. "Well, he'd be the biggest free agent in college football history."

No chance he comes to USF but who would be set to gain if he leaves? I kinda see him in burnt orange.

What I found humorous in the Comments section was a reply to a nonsensical comment about building a soccer stadium instead of a football stadium ... He counters with the state of college football and how "UCF packs 'em in at its on-campus site". The Kanigits only averaged 5K more per game than we did, 36K-31K, 5K under capacity .... and that included sell outs of their last 2 home games.

that is funny. I can't see the comments section for some reason. Was the person saying we should build another Soccer stadium or that we should had built a football stadium instead of soccer stadium?

Yeah, went back and read the release on gousfbulls.com and that's what it said. My email message seemed a little geared towards being a Bulls Club member but hopefully it will go out to all members of the Alumni Association also.

I got an email yesterday from the Alumni association about it, but it went straight to my promotions folder.

That’s true and I thought about that when I was writing the post. I wonder if there is a significant amount of injuries that are life threatening compared to the other side of the ball....or is this simply a point of the “possibility” being greater?

Shazier is the only person I can think of that has broken their neck in the last 15 years that wasn't off kickoff, but there is probably a few i'm missing

Yeah, but UCF has 2 wins against UF (1) and 1 against Stetson (28).  Not that I'm complaining about them projected to be on the outside looking in

Well, UCf has been hanging around that 25-30 spot too. A series win against us would probably put them back in. i would be willing to say the winner of this weekend will find a spot somewhere between 20-25.

I would like to see the statistics on the number of players who get hurt on KO and compare that with players who get hurt on offense and defense (using statistics as obviously there are more opportunities with the later). I have to say, at least for USF games, I don't remember seeing a lot of injuries on KO returns.

Is it about sheer number of injuries, or the number life changing injuries?  KO hits are more likely to to bring those awful neck injuries.
