  1. I enjoy reading these comparisons between the Big East and the AAC but they do aggravate me after awhile. It's like comparing old school football players vs New school. Players are faster, bigger, and more athletic now a days. Like Jordan vs Kobe, both are great but one accomplished all of his feats after the game changed, while the other ushered in the change. Both incredible but can you truly compare? What would love have done with his skill setin a slower, short shorts wearing, old school NBA? Same success, more... who knows, we can only compare stats. This lovefest for the Big East falls under the same category for me. Those teams were great for when they played, but granting them untouchable status bugs me. Especially when those schools still exist and aren't lighting the world on fire now. Different players, time, and teams, conferences...etc. but the same game. Stats are stats, if Q.F.'s is statistically better, he should be considered the better quarterback hands down. It's the same game and the same position... Shoot it's not like Keynon Reynolds t.d.'s aren't impressive because he wasn't in the sec... Just my random 2 cents.
  2. Yeah but not the busy deli has to check I.D.s or printed receipts. But i guess we do it for platters it can work.
  3. An open pickup counter with subs that say paid... No one sees a problem with this logic?
  4. How can our offense put up 35 points and it's still their fault that we lost to wku? I agree with your logic up until that point, the defense sucked it up in that game. No excuses can be made for that.
  5. Wish him the best. I like this thread because people who said that he wasn't the reason for the change and weren't calling for him to be our head coach have a place to congregate.
  6. Does the person who down voted you not see the obvious joke??? How many games did we play in December? 1 against WKU and lost Which in turn makes us end the year on a "losing streak" of one lol How many bowl games has CWT coached USF in? 1 that we lost to WKU Now that you get it you should take the down vote away because it was funny and meant to be so.
  7. I'll try not to argue whether or not White privilege exists. I will say that there is about a 200 year head start in America that some took advantage of. Looking at the judicial system and how it treats it's people of color is eye opening. Especially the disparity in how those laws are applied and who they protect. I tend to lean more towards systemic racism myself, when you look at who gets government assistance, government backed business and home loans, the interest rates attached to said loans... There are exceptions to every rule and opportunities are out there. But to say skin color doesn't affect how someone is viewed in America and what doors may or may not be open to them isn't entirely true.
  8. Thank you, I didn't want to have to argue this point. Ideally we would love for the whole world to just take people on credentials alone. If that were the case you would never have to network. There's a saying that a black man has to be twice as qualified as his counterparts to get the same recognition. I hope that isn't true but sometimes the beautiful "I have a dream" world we want to see doesn't exist yet.
  9. I believe people can tell the difference between true criticism and people stirring the pot. It's the same people all the time who never say anything nice about the program. The people who find the clouds on a sunny day. People get tired of hating just to hate. I've never down voted someone for an educated difference of opinion but someone who seems to troll... That's a whole different story.
  10. I'm also really proud of the way we were represented. Our coach out of all the others was chosen and looked cool while he was analyzing. Good look for the university.
  11. First sentence made sense and seemed rational. The rest seemed like a fact-less attack. That's how it read to me.
  12. 1.) It may not take a phenom but it does take a good quarterback. If it didn't we would have had 8 wins two years ago. Uconn fell short because of injuries, that temple game would have been completely different had they had their starting QB. There aren't many Marlon Macks in the nation, so any team would be better off for having him. 2.) I believe the comparison can start as soon as he puts on a USF Jersey and breaks season records as a QB. Record books don't care about what conference or opponent, they look at the accolades. I'm a former Grothe groupie, but with his many magical moments, he was a very flawed QB. In the big picture what did he accomplish here that makes him untouchable? Beat big names in their down years? 3.) This was addressed by a fellow Bull. I can promise you that I've heard commentators compliment him on perfectly thrown ball but I don't have the technology to give you video proof, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. 4.) Just used him to support my mechanics argument. Poor mechanics, great results. Thank you for taking time to respond though. I finally had time to follow up.
  13. I think the lack of defense lost us that game if I remember correctly. 30+ points in any game and you should win easily.
  14. I'm admittedly confused, how can such a limited QB set so many single season records and put up such big numbers? How can a horrible QB lead his team to an 8 win season? How can a horrible QB be on pace to surpass our legendary Matt Grothe? I mean Tim Tebow and his mechanics led his team to a national championship and he played in the NFL, if that can happen anything is possible. RESULTS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MECHANICS Shoot Teddy Bridgewater is throwing in the NFL with his sideways delivery...
  15. So he's a sophomore college athlete who's really good but has flaws, got it.
  16. So what's your point, I seen Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers do the same thing. Not saying they're in the same league but that's my point. Paid professionals throw horrible passes at times and this is college ball we're talking about. The vast majority of college level QBs miss throws. He couldn't have done too bad if he's a top 30 QB in the nation from what I've read.
  17. When people look into the record books they see the record, not the level of competition. I mean you can make the same argument for comparing Kobe to Michael Jordan. The only reason Michael Jordan was so extraordinary is because of the level of competition he got to play against. In that arena no one says that, so I would suggest we not say it here. Skills are skills, didn't hurt Western Kentucky 's NFL caliber quartet back at all did it?
  18. According to another poster, QF stats are better than ANY OTHER usf quarterback in our short history. How could he possibly be a lousy passer? Mechanics are irrelevant if you get the proper results.
  19. I mean looking at his stats in comparison to other "great" usf quarterbacks it doesn't seem like his play was horrible. Were there some bad passes sure. Did he single handedly keep us in the game, you better believe it. This loss is on defense, they didn't play like themselves. You aren't going to win many games when the opponent scores 45 points.
  20. Do you believe USF could ever have a candidate for the Heisman Trophy? After watching the Heisman program a couple nights ago I started thinking that maybe just maybe, if we continue our Cinderella story, we could sneak Mack or Flowers into the discussion. Both have beautiful stories, if they put up record numbers, and we go undefeated I Don't see why they wouldn't at least be mentioned. Is the green and gold too strong with me or do you think it's in the realm of possibility?
