  1. I don't remember this for some reason but was everyone joking how it looks like Oregon's colors?
  2. Our offense doesn't make sense. We are 21st in Total Offense and Points per Game. But Brady has a great QBR and T-to-Int ratio. Our team rushing yards per game is dead last but Leonard Fournette is 20th in individual rush yards. I genuinely don't understand.
  3. The offense has been atrocious. I think the more we play this limply, the higher the chance he retires in season.
  4. Have we ever done an all-black jersey? My mind is drawing a blank but all-black is always a winner (for night games lol)
  5. No sarcasm but how can we acknowledge something exists and not make it feel like we are excusing/overlooking his record? That's why the question was more "Does SoS matter to recruits?" Again, SoS is subjective and might not have much value, but our rivals to the East have the 88th ranked schedule and are 5-2 and we have the, now, 27th ranked schedule and are 1-6. We have played two mutual opponents, which were losses for them and us.
  6. You hate to see it, I'm sure they'll bounce back.
  7. I hope this is true. Whether we believe SoS is important or not, a reality or an excuse, the recruits and the current players believing in our scheduling matters
  8. I understand and I am not justifying the losses. However, as @Brad mentioned, our best USF teams have lost to good and bad teams. I think it is realistic to be upset about getting our doors blown off by ECU and Louisville.
  9. With Tulane now in the Top 25, I was curious what our current SoS is. One metric ranks us as having the 28th hardest schedule in the country (see here); I think another was at 34th. Does that justify our record (i.e., injuries + SoS = current record)? Does any of that matter if the perception of us is so low with recruits and fans? Sincerely do not want this to be a CJS bash thread since we've done that ad nauseam. Just some existential rumination of realistic vs. unrealistic expectations.
  10. I think CJL would come back if he could have our current run game and an Iowa State defense.
  11. Not the quantity but we have the quality of frustrated maniacs to make it happen
  12. Hypothetically, if CJS is fired this year, do we think the board will crash? I vaguely remembering it happen during/after the Rutgers game but I could be mistaken.
  13. We were screwed by that overturned fumble for a TD before half.
  14. Yeah last year we had HS recruits from MI, NC, SC, TN, and GA. This year we have commitments from a recruit in MD and AL. As for the Bay Area, I never felt like we recruited well here, at least not any of the big name recruits.
  15. I think the answer is mostly have good luck or the talent to convince people to play above their ability. It can't be personality because there have been coaches that have ranged from maniacs to gentlemen that have won. Places like Wake Forest have been successful and their recruiting class rankings are consistently paltry; you can't control it someone comes to your university anyway. Different offensive schemes have been successful from Air Raid to Triple Option.
  16. I don't have any proof but it definitely feels like CJS gets more commits from players outside of Florida compared to past coaches. It hasn't translated to anything worth much but still interesting that he has reach.
  17. It's both surreal and not surprising considering this season.
  18. The offense and defense seem like they have potential at times. But our 101st ranking on offense and 127th ranking on defense make me think I have rose colored glasses on.
  19. Our defense does great when we control the time of possession. They had the ball 13 more minutes than us. That's a big ask with all the injuries.
  20. I understand what you are saying and there is truth in the idea that if you are going to be this bad on the field you need to have a selling point like being a player's coach. I was just pointing out that people seem to suggest that this is the last straw as if there isn't enough evidence to pull the trigger on firing him without anybody questioning it.
  21. It sounds bad on the surface, but if we were winning, would anyone care? Do other coaches come across as empathetic and caring? His record is bad enough to get him fired without any assistance.
