Conference realignment "Rumors" "tweets" "etc"

I could be wrong but I just don't see any expansion happening for the next 3 years. The big 12 was left out last year mainly due to the big 12 not naming a champion and leaving that up to the committee. It also didn't help that tcu played Iowa state in the last game whereas had they played Texas or Oklahoma while Baylor played ksu it might have been enough for tcu to jump osu even though osu had an impressive slaughter of Wisconsin. Since they will get their title game next year with 10 and they have already announced they will name a champion I just feel like the big 12 will wait at least 3 years before making any expansion decisions. So if I'm Harlan and Usf I'm doing whatever it takes to get the program turned around with or without Taggart and making us into an attractive candidate whenever the next round of expansion occurs -
MBB USF to Play Albany, Boston, NJIT Next Season ...

They usually release the non conference schedule in mid July through mid August. They're probably waiting on 1-2 teams to finalize the schedule -
Win, and they will come....right?

No matter that others have proven this to be a completely false statement. This. People in Tampa (Florida) don't go to football games just because it's on campus... they go because they want to root for their team to win. And remember - for 2015, the capacity of RayJay is 41,000... I can't see an OCS being smaller than that. p If we don't get out the AAC and into the P5 we won't need half that capacity. If USF wins consistently we will... remember, winning the AAC still means a chance at a New Years Six bowl... and if we can be like Boise State - winning a lesser conference for few years in a row - we have a chance to get into the CFP. Yes, that is a lot of "ifs" ... and I am not saying anythigng about when it will happen ... just pointing out that if USF is a consistent winner (8-4+) then we can sell out a 50,000 seat stadium with great ease... If we lose, then we wouldn't fill Corbett Stadium. The days of being able to play the ND's and Auburn's of the world and score a big upset are coming to a rapid close. The P5 are moving away from scheduling G5 games because it hurts their standing with the playoff committee. That's why the Independent teams will now count as P5 schools for scheduling. ND, BYU, and even Army will all count this season as P5 OOC matchups. The SEC is mandating teams schedule OOC games against other P5 schools, so is the B1G. (They can still schedule 1 G5 or FCS team but not for long). So the point to all this for USF used to be 1: Schedule great OOC games ( we will play anyone, anywhere philosophy like Boise State used). 2: Win all your games. 3: Be in a position for a BCS bowl. I can promise you NO conference bound G5 TEAM WILL EVER qualify for a spot in a 4 team playoff. (BYU maybe could have a chance if they went 11-0) The AAC champ may make some quasi high level bowl game but no shot at the title because our schedules against each other are too weak. That has to have an effect on the psyci of the teams. In any other sport you can start the season at least dreaming that if everything magically happened to fall in place you "could" be playing for the Natty. Not in football anymore. 11-0 in the crappy AAC won't get you ranked by the humans that now control the rankings into a top 4 spot. I'd agree that no g5 school would qualify for a spot in top 4 but what if they expand it to 8. At that point I'd give a non p5 school at chance but they we would have to be undefeated and play a extremely tough non conference schedule -

Wasn't ou against going to 12 after mizzouri and Nebraska left since they got left out of a title game a few years before where they were unbeaten going into the big 12 championship game but lost the game? I recall reading something about that and ou swearing they would never let the big 12 go back to 12 due to that very reason -

I happened to check wvu boards and they don't want the conference to expand. They don't feel there is any team worth it and would lose the big 12 lots of money http://westvirginia.forums.rivals.com/threads/the-big-12-still-needs-to-expand.1044/ -

All the talk about ucf being favored over us can change in moments notice. The only thing Usf needs to do is start winning and get the fan base to around 50k and we will be right back in front of the pecking order -

TV won't matter? TV is the only thing that matters. Well, not really. But very nearly. Aren't Cincy and USF the biggest TV markets left unaccounted for? Per Nielsen , it's Houston @ 10 and us at @13 of the names that have been thrown around. Cincy is lower than Hartford ...That is surprising. Nobody will argue the TV market size for Tampa. It is really more does that translate into viewers for USF or are they still going to watch the other Florida schools? That argument is silly. Only die-hards will tune in to watch USF play (Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, ECU, SMU, Temple [pick one]). USF will easily carry the market playing B12 teams. Playing the big 12 opponents will only help if we are winning. Right now if u put us in the big 12 we might sell more tickets with Oklahoma, Texas, or wvu playing here but that would only be a year or two fix before fans don't show up again cause the team is losing all the time. So let's get the program turned around whether that is Taggart leading or someone else and put a good product on the field. Then we will be able to carry the Tampa market But even if we start winning, are people really going to turn out in droves for that big Temple game? They won't for anyone in our conference but they would for Oklahoma or Texas or wvu -

I just don't see either Florida team getting an invite to a p5 conference soon. One has to ask of oleary decides to become the permenant ad and the football team starts crashing would the p5 conference even want them anymore since they would add nothing in either mens or women's basketball. As far as the other sports no one would care since they are not sports conferences would even look at for expansion consideration. I think if the big 12 expands it would be either cincy and uconn or cincy and byu since they would offer the most in terms of overall athletic prestige -

Let's start winning first before we start talking about an ocs. Had we kept the momentum from 2007 and built on that we would be able to build an ocs but we can't afford it when we keep losing and fans don't show up. -

They installed GOL as AD on the basis of name recognition? What is he known for by P5 athletic staff?! Lying through his teeth on an application to Notre Dame and then getting fired before coaching a down? Using slurs towards his players routinely? Potentially contributing to the death of a player? Oh he's had a few good seasons lately... yeah that's all they'll remember about him. Be real. Mention the names George O'Leary and Willie Taggart to the president of Texas. Which one of the two is he/she going to recognize? Otherwise known as: any publicity is good publicity. If u change the name from Willie Taggart to Mark Harlan would that change anything given that Harlan has a connection to Texas What's his tie to Texas? I thought I read that he is really good friends with the ad at Texas but I might have heard wrong -

The ucf shutout was the first home shutout but the third one overall. 2nd was at Rutgers 31-0 -
Here is the video of the incident. The incident looks really bad but one could make an argument( albeit a weak one) that it could be self defense since it shows the woman swing at him first. Personally I think Fisher would be better served to release this guy and at least she that fsu won't tolerate actions like this http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/7/6/8902327/florida-state-quarterback-deandre-johnson-arrest-assault-incident-video

So ur saying ur 100% ok getting shut out by our biggest rival on our home field and letting them hold the honor of being the first team to shut us out. Getting a field goal down 16-0 might just spark something as u never know what might happen on the next kickoff. What if they fumble and u recover resulting in a td? Now it's a 6 point game. Being down 41-3 that game is over Where did i say i was ok with it? Much less 100%. The rest of that is speculative bs. It just sounds like ur saying as long as we tried for a td but couldn't get it it's ok. Does anyone remember a play cincy pulled on us a few years back where they came out on the 2nd half kickoff and faked it into a onside recovery. Those are the type of plays that can turn a game if done correctly -

If ur the big 12 wouldn't u be taking a huge risk in taking only 1 school. Say u take ucf only and they completely fall apart. Now what do u do if your the big 12 unless u already know that the league is disbanding which in that case it wouldn't matter but that could be an entirely different matter all together -

How can u win by trying to tie. Could u kick the 3 points and get the ball back through a onside kick or turnover or 3 and out then score a quick touchdown and somehow get the ball back and win the game with a late touchdown? -
