I am pasting the article here as he is clearly writing click bait. The only reason I would even go onto the site is to blast his du&#a$$. Comparing our attendance numbers to a game in Beijing, really!! You're a f'n idiot. How about you get off your high horse and stop trying to call out the local fan base (erroneously I might add) and turn that criticism inward and see what a $hit job you guys do  covering our local team.

Fennelly: Good seats still available to see fun USF Bulls at home

Saturday, September 10, 2016 10:24pm

Another night, another game of empty upper decks for the USF Bulls. Then we thought about the record college football crowd that saw Tennessee and Virginia Tech play Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway, more than 150,000 people. Martin Truex Jr. was leading that game at press time. I'm not even going to tell you how many people they had at the Beijing-Beijing State game in China. You'd just get depressed.

At least Saturday's crowd for Northern Illinois looked larger than the one for the opener against Towson, for whatever that's worth. Likewise for USF's reported double-secret in-person presentation to the Big 12 on Friday. Tony Dungy reportedly gave a video endorsement, and Lightning owner and Tampa mover and shaker Jeff Vinik apparently made the trip to the Big 12 meeting. Crowd might have been just as big if Dungy and Vinik had simply taken 20,000 of their closest friends to Saturday's game.

But the crowd looked better Saturday.

And the more eyeballs on USF, the better.

This team is fun to watch.

The Bulls were beating Northern Illinois soundly through three quarters, even without Marlon Mack at running back. It was USF's pre-bear-trap game before next weekend's real bear-trap game at Syracuse before the Sept. 24 game back here against No. 3 Florida State.

Got all that?

Anyway, USF receiver Rodney Adams ran for a touchdown. Quinton Flowers had 221 yards passing by halftime and threw four touchdown passes in three quarters. The defense stepped up, too. It was 41-7 late in the third quarter.

By the way, AAC juggernaut and college football flavor of the month Houston pounded Lamar in front of thousands of empty seats. Guess you can't play Oklahoma every week.

We're just saying.

Those empty seats at Raymond James Stadium are a reminder of what USF is up against.

Fannies in the stands and TV ratings might matter a very great deal in this expansion bid, or if there's a later one.

But this team is worth a look.

Northern Illinois was never going to be a pushover. The Huskies have played in a record six straight MAC championship games and went to the Orange Bowl a few years back, which is more than USF has ever done.

No matter. The Bulls controlled a game that we had once wondered about, especially with Mack on the shelf in concussion protocol. But the Bulls were taking care of business.

And they were fun to watch.

Next weekend's trip to Syracuse, at least at first glance, seems a prime suspect for a bear-trap game. A 3:30 game in upstate New York, indoors, on the way to the FSU game. A chance for USF to look too far ahead.

Especially since USF is 7-2 all time against Syracuse, including 4-0 at the Carrier Dome.

Don't get too comfortable, though the Syracuse game here last year turned USF's season around, Taggart easing off, letting Flowers go, and the offense, which put up 45 points in beating Syracuse, has never truly looked back.

USF has won six of its past seven home games. In its past three home games, back to 2015, USF has outscored opponents 58-3 in the first quarter.

Raymond James Stadium should be close to packed when USF and FSU come together. That's the next home game. It could be the biggest game in USF history. It might be worth a peek. I'm not telling people how to spend their time or money. But if you're on the fence, there's this:

They're fun to watch.

I thought the upper deck was closed for normal games. Apparently the student section was the largest in 5 years.

Was he drunk when he wrote that? Three sentences of "they're fun to watch".

I think the main takeaway is that they are fun to watch.

Is that the nicest thing he's ever said about us?

It wasn't that bad...but yes he is a dbag

Yes the article wasn't really that negative. It was a little stupid though and attendance is a sore spot lately. You can't compare a Tennessee Va Tech game to USF NIU. We are still a young program and have no history with NIU outside of the International Bowl.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
