It marks the second-straight year that Victor has been named to this prestigious list. Earlier this week, Victor was named a STATS Preseason Third-Team All-American. He was also named Preseason First-Team All-CAA at the league's annual Media Day on July 26. Victor enters his final season looking to become just the second Towson running back to rush for over 1,000 yards in three-straight seasons. Victor currently ranks fourth on the all-time rushing list with 2,955 yards and second in rushing touchdowns (34). He is coming off a season in which he battled injuries, but managed to rush for 1,021 yards and 15 touchdowns. He had four 100-yard rushing performances, including a career-high 207 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Holy Cross. He also scored at least one touchdown in nine of the 11 games. The Tigers report for fall camp Aug. 7 in preparation for the 2016 season opener Sept. 3 at South Florida. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3. That Jabroni is a self-admitted Towson homer. Not saying we should take any team lightly but his case for a good game/possible upset, or "research," as he calls it, is nothing but transitive property nonsense. It includes the fact that they only lost to ECU by 8 last year, beat 3-9 UConn in 2013 (Hey! So did we! And with our worst team of all time!) played LSU close for a half in 2012, and some nonsense about barely missing the I-AA playoffs. I know he's trying to polish up this turd of a game, but talk about the impact players on the team (the aforementioned Darius Victor?), the style of play, etc. That's the way you hype a game. The way this is done is a sloppy, sloppy, narrative. Talking up their National Championship in 2013, when they've gone 11-12 since then. Bragging that they're "the only college team to qualify for post-season play at each level of NCAA football...in Division III, Division II, and in Division IAA." Apparently IA doesn't exist. Pestering Michael Clayton to talk up Towson at some paper-plate dinner because, although he left LSU 8 years before Towson played them tough for 30-minutes, he did watch the game on TV. But the Tigers did not garner similar respect from within their own conference. Towson was picked to finish sixth in the league as revealed during the CAA football media day at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Tuesday morning. For a program that went 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the conference to find itself behind Villanova and New Hampshire in the poll despite finishing ahead of both teams in last year's standings, the slight is sure to be a topic of conversation in the locker room. But it's the footage of -- and not by -- Towson senior Darius Victor that USF defensive line coach Eric Mathies can't put down. Seemingly crafted from the Ray Rice mold, Victor (5-foot-8, 227 pounds) seeks his third consecutive 1,000-yard season operating behind the same offensive line from 2015. Last fall, he ran 207 times for 1,021 yards and 15 touchdowns, including a monstrous effort (28 carries, 137 yards) in a 28-20 loss to East Carolina. "A horse," Mathies said Monday. "I've watched every game he's played at least three times since the summer to now, and every time he impressed me more and more because of his ... Rotating RBs and WRs is going to be a bear for any team to handle. I just hope our O-line is on top of their cardio fitness. A good analogy in my mind would be the 2010 game in Gainesville (rolls reversed of course).
