  1. South Carolina @ UCF just got announced for Noon on one of those 3 networks, as well. Ok St @ WVU is also slated for the same time on one of the 3. I saw that.... a nooner at the WOK in late September? Yikes.... you guys better start stocking up on ice and water... that place will be an oven. doesn't matter, On Campus
  2. Controlling most of the game in front of 92K fans at night is not luck. UCF had 507 total yards and each team had just 1 turnover. UCF was just better
  3. I believe Bortles was a 2 star coming out of HS. Its not that they were able to get that kind of talent, it is more of the fact they developed him. BJ was a talent but never got developed and that is proved by becoming a NFL QB. Rivals rated Bortles a 3 Star. He is a really hard worker, heard about his work ethic even when it looked like Godfrey was going to be a 4 year starter
  4. some visiting fanbases have also organized setting up it that grass area that is just past meal plan when walking away from the Fitness Center(near Garage B and Lot B9 on the Gameday Parking map)
  5. The Tailgating rules changed after that 2008 USF game, Memory Mall is not a complete cramped free for all anymore. They made designated squares for the tents near the sidewalks and the middle is left open for throwing Footballs, cornhole, and emergency vehicles. I won't deny some of your fans having a bad experience but some of you act like you are heading to a third world soccer match. If you aren't drunk instigating in the middle of Greek Row or student section(front close to the UCF Arena) of Memory Mall you should be fine..it's a nice campus to tailgate on with a lot of space to avoid trouble. It seriously is way more tame now especially considering that the USF game is the day after Thanksgiving so it probably won't be the usual packed tailgate with fans driving in later from back home
  6. Orlando attempts to be a normal city, Vegas does not. Vegas is just on another level when it comes to adult entertainment with the density of the Strip.
  7. Daunte Culpepper's place opening soon on University Blvd near UCF. It's supposed to be an upscale sport dining experience http://culpeppersucf.com/
  8. UCF beat up on the weaker CUSA, while we struggled against the stronger BE. Depends how quickly the players pick up the new system at USF, but I still believe we have the better football players. UCF doesn't recruit well. USF and UCF have a common opponent from last season's schedule & only 1 of the teams has a returning starting QB
  9. Assembly was about 8 hours. Delivery video One thing I will say, it shows a certain flair in marketing that USF is sadly lacking... UCF & Athletics does a good job with its youtube channel to expose the University. Marketing is hit or miss, they have made a lot of mistakes there and some non affiliated people(UCF Nation, Axis, Knightnews) have actually marketed UCF better at times than the University itself
  10. Daunte Culpepper is opening a sports bar and grill on University Blvd by UCF that is rumored to be opening in August. So that will be added to a list of places to check out, it is rumored that it's going for 'an upscale sportsbar' look so it would probably be something like Champps or Bar Louie
  11. This video gives a rundown on the setup for the Football Program. This is basically a cliff notes version on what they show visitors
  12. That explains your opinion. Miami has 70 thousand seat backs and better luxury boxes but most neutral college football fans & media would rather attend a Saturday night ACC College Football game at FSU that is mostly bleachers.
  13. Unless you are one of the handful of fanbases like Ohio State, USC , or Michigan I've never understood the the romantic attachment to Bowl games and being anti Playoff . The Majority of them are infomercials with a meaningless game in the background that is used to fill programming during Christmas break. College Football would be much better with a real Playoff (16)that every Conference Winner gets in so that every program's coach can tell a recruit that even though we don't have a lot of tradition here there is a realistic path to win a Championship. All competitors want a shot on the field. If the majority of them still want to play in the SEC so be it but at least it would be a level playing field that doesn't use selection committees to determine a Champion. Or fans can be content with status quo and watch Florida State in the Orange Bowl 3 out of 5 years in the name of 'tradition'
  14. Lots of quotable lines ITT on your side as well:)...You can discredit Bortles but he jumps out on tape & in person and has Gabbert, Holman, & Dinovo sitting behind him so the QB Depth chart for once is a positive at UCF. Should be a fun season
  15. L O L You are delusional. C. Florida will 6 games MAX, and that's being generous. I have to see how the holes on Defense get filled in before making a predition on wins but UCF's QB Bortles is the most talented QB GOL has had at UCF. If he continues to develop he will be the best QB after Bridgewater in the conference this season.
  16. Credit Union For anyone that has been over by UCF, The Plaza where the bar Knight Library(moved down the street), Fubar, & Lazy Moon were in front of the main entrance to the campus on University Boulevard got leveled a few months ago and is now a construction site. It won't be ready by the USF game this Fall but when it's done it will be a mixed use residential with street level being retail and restaurants. Here's a video rendering of the project (Plaza on University) . The University Commons Plaza on Corporate Boulevard in front of the Greek Row entrance to UCF is the new center of activity for now while that project is getting built. The UCF Gameday site also has free parking and other information. Also an FYI on the list of places from the link on the 1st page, the MOAT is probably the most family friendly all UCF places on that list and makes really good burgers UCF Gameday for Visitors
  17. I really don't get this. I mean do you guys taunt them? Shout back at them? I have been to both games there and 1 bb game there too. Nobody bothers me and I'm decked out in USF gear. Go to the game. The Bulls need you! UCF usually rents the baseball stadium to the visiting team who do one of those paid tailgates and that is right next to the Football stadium. There is also so much space to tailgate on other parts of campus without issues. Unless you are walking through the middle of Greek Row or Memory Mall instigating you should be fine. The Church on Mcculloch Rd does an Alcohol free tailgate in their parking lot across the street. A Black Friday Tailgate will probably be tamer with the good number of students driving back into town that morning
  18. Um, yeah. I guess you missed the fact that Taggart has coached in the Pac12. I don't think he will find the quality of play in the AAC shockingly good. But keep dreaming your little dreams. As a position coach, not as a head coach which he has a losing record.
  19. Bianchi doesn't speak for UCF. He's a Gator fan that writes reaction articles for college fanbases, feeds the Tebow apologists, and his terrible NBA articles don't help the Magic retain or attract free agents. He occasionally makes good points but he belongs on Bleacher Report. Taggart has come off as too arrogant and if the wins don't come early he's setting himself up to be in a bad spot and have your fanbase turn on him a lot faster than Holtz. I think his perspective will change after the first game at UCF and a full season coaching outside the Sun Belt.
  20. 7 years for $3.5 Million. Better than everyone expected. The Orlando address helps
  21. Yes. Most of the free visitor parking is on that far side of campus across the street anyway so you are better off walking back after the game instead of sitting in traffic to travel a few blocks. Just make sure when you walk across the street onto campus that you cut through the middle of the circle(inside Gemini blvd) past the Student Union and not follow roads b/c that will be a lot longer walk
  22. the UCF AD talking about the power of the USF-UCF partnership and some planned upgrades to UCF's stadium exterior
