  1. ACC minus FSU, Clemson and maybe a couple more will likely get a worse deal than the Big 12 (even though I would argue it is just as good) ..... so I don't see WVU or Cincinnati leaving ..... unless, there is a brokered deal, as the Big 12 wants to drop that Eastern tier to focus west and take more PAC schools, but I don't even think a deal like that could happen, really hypothetical.
  2. I think ESPN actually likes the ACC deal as it is now, with the teams in it now. It represents value, where so many other deals they over paid for. Of course, once the money teams leave, then ESPN will want to blow it up.
  3. The Brett eye emoji is one of 2 things (in my opinion) he thinks Arizona is leaving for B12, or he saw projections of the PAC media money. Both of those stories/rumors were sort of breaking at the same time as his tweet.
  4. If the PAC collapses today, don't you think the B12 would love to give back the 3 AAC schools in exchange for 3 more PAC schools.
  5. Nebraska does a lot of agricultural research, and the AAU metrics does not prioritize that.
  6. Absolutely. Va Tech was Big East football only and Metro along with USF in everything else. I remember Ace now that you said his name, but I couldn't have come up with his name 5 minutes ago.
  7. It's wild to think about Va Tech. When I was a student they were in the same conference as USF, the Metro. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but I would have them further down the list.
  8. Ah ok - I did a good search of conference realignment rumors and good said the article was less than an hour old, but I now see the 7/28 date on it. They must of made some small change (maybe just fixing a typo) ... my bad.
  9. New USF to Big 12 prediction. collegefootballnews.com COLLEGEFOOTBALLNEWS.COM
  10. Everyone named there are all great people. I haven't seen Steve in years since his part time retirement gig with Veterans Services ended, I'm guessing he is up in Athens, as I knew that was his plan.
  11. Last 17 seasons (yes, i did cherry pick that number) Colorado has had 2 season with a winning record. (4-2 in 2020 was one of those winning seasons) Same time frame, USF has had 9 seasons with a winning record.
  12. What does the AAC look like if we don't apply, and the PAC takes: SMU, Tulane, Memphis and ECU for an Eastern division, and the AAC fills in with FIU, Texas State, Ga State, and Marshall.
  13. Is it what I want, no. Is it better than what we currently have, yes. Whatever the PAC becomes, it will likely be the 5th best conference, we are currently in the 6th or 7th best conference. We need to take steps up, so yes, I'm in.
  14. Let me also say this, the money situation at individual schools is going to be rough because TV money will dry up, and donor money is reduced as donors are giving part of what they used to give the school to NIL. (I'm not saying that is bad, but NIL is competing with the actual schools for donations)
  15. If I am Oregon, Washington, Cal, and Stanford - I am calling the Big 10 right now and offering a deal where I take a 10% share in year 1, 20% in year 2, 30% in year 3 ... etc.
  16. Miami is AAU, FSU is not. I am not saying it is a deal breaker, but remember, Presidents make the decision.
  17. My gut reaction to the idea that Colorado may announce a plan to move today is that in general we want stability for a while, to allow us to win some games and bulk up our resume. The more movement now, the more likely our home gets less appealing. I don't think Colorado by itself changes much for us. Just concerned that it is the start of more moves, and not only might we get left behind, but our league could lose more off the top.
  18. Major is the term we hear for basketball more. I would simply say: Power 5 football schools, plus Big East - if you want to draw a conference line. If you want to look at individual schools, you would need to add Gonzaga for sure, probably Memphis too. There are others, but those two year in and year out act like they are Major basketball schools (so I am not just talking about winning or short term stuff, like FAU as Final 4 team is still at the kids table).
  19. So, I am not a fan. Biggest non-conference name at home, Central Michigan. 3 HBCU, but not Bethune Cookman or FAMU? No Florida schools at home. I get new coach, lots of change, but as our conference gets weaker, our non-conference schedule should get tougher. If you would have told me 10 years ago, we would have this schedule, I would have laughed at you. With no Memphis game in Tampa, FAU is literally all we got for the home slate.
  20. You are right, and they are invited, I take it back. Their logo is red and black, and the black washed out into the background, that is why it looked so weird to me.
  21. Whoever the E logo is next to Cal is not invited (Eastern Washington, I assume) ..... the military schools are a great add for football, but they would struggle to be all sport members.
