  1. Rawlins is supposedly home sick and disappointed he did not play in spring game. Yes home sick when he is 75 minute drive away outskirts of Pittsburgh, drive may be part of the problem as he was worried about getting rides home on weekends and such, do not believe he has a car. Look for Pitt or small college near there, if Pitt I say he will end up at safety. As a QB he is a zone read option type, has issues passing, when QB Coach Jake Spavital left for Texas A&M OC he was pushed aside ALOT, Spavital wanted to use him like Manziel, our new QB coach (old WR and our OC) wants more of a Geno Smith. * Trickett was less about him because Clint is expected to start this fall and then next year. William Crest had more to do with Rawlins.
  2. Another WVian just creating rumors.No. Nick Saban on ESPN.com a couple days ago. Saban is from WV I believe. Hence the reference Oh thanks. I didn't know that. Yes a bunch of coaches grew up 30 minutes from me. Saban whose wife has family in my neighborhood, RichRod was brother was one of my coaches, Jimbo Fisher, of course The Bowden Boys, and Rick Trickett.
  3. There was a rumor a while back that the B1G wants to change that expectation. Mizzou would, would Vandy?
  4. I have not heard anything but if BYU and Boise I would have to assume its football only for $7.5 mil. Why would WVU push Cincy well locatjon and their AD Whit Babcock was our MAC guy doing Rodriguez years. If Cincy is one the other would be USF or UConn. If PAC ang Big 12 is being pushed to 14 to create 5 - 14s (70) and breakoff you would have to assume Pac takes BYU, Boise, SMU and Houston and Big12 takes USF, Cincy, Uconn, and UCF. Actually I like 4 conference with 72-80 teams.
  5. http://wvustats.com/football/opp/246 The series is actually one that was pretty good until Levitt went nuts. WVU does have a bit more history than USF, but again USF is a sleeping giant especially with Taggart, problem still remains AAC conference though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Virginia_Mountaineers_football Again I am all for USF/UCF in Big 12 for Florida now that FSU and Miami are no goes. But again then issues still remain the 9 Texahoma/Kansas states and the money. Big 12 schools eyeing $22-25 million in conference revenue payout http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/jeremy-fowler/22225933/big-12-schools-eyeing-22-25-million-in-conference-revenue-payout
  6. One of those WV guys starting rumors again.
  7. It would be very interesting to see what Bench is thinking about NC St because Jacoby Brissett went there in January but he has to sit out the year So Bench could start a year but then you have to go up against Jacoby next year for the starting job.
  8. Just catching up as i am in tpa airport after getting off cruise. Surprised he chose WVU because last Thurs he told everyone he waz not the coming after "commiting and working out transfer process" on WVU visit. From what I know and told charrisb Tricketts did not like something after talking at home. I think bulldinkle was a bit right on the William Crest thought. I also see Millard transferring this summer. I dont know how Aub or USF visit went and wont until i get back to WV Imo Trickett has a 67% chance of starting at WVU with Childress at 33%
  9. Its not WVU, may be Auburn we will see.
  10. Jtrue Good idea, they prolly will want a virgin. Sounds like this is a job for you.
  11. Bill â€@BILLREEF 42m @IamANole Well Charlton, how does your son know Mr. Trickett? Expand CharltonIrvine â€@IamANole 2m @BILLREEF works at the golf course he plays at Hide conversation Reply Retweet Favorite 10:01 PM - 24 Apr 13 · Details
  12. Link You know, until he got to this point, he was actually making sense. TX, OU, TT, and OSU to the PAC. Reasonable TCU, Baylor to the MWC. Reasonable Iowa State, K-State, and Kansas to the B1G. NAFCIH! They'd more likely end up in MWC or MAC. WVU could end up in either the SEC or the ACC. B12 is more likely to collapse than ACC now, IMO. All eyes on TX and OU. Whatchu two gonna do??? Kansas is/was being looked at to B1G, issues with Iowa ST and KST is they are already in a state the B1G covers (which does make them more money if they expand on how the TV Network is worked) and when compared to WVU in endowments Iowa St is $100 mil more and KSt is $200 mill less. Also WVU is adding research mainly in energy sector which is driving this area. NY, PA, WV, OH (Marcellus SHale) - Also not saying WVU to B1G but its chances would be better than both KST and Iowa ST. Yes, I know there is 3 states that are already doubled up but look at all new expansion, its about adding markets. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BigTenLocations3.png I still Think as posted in Conf Realign thread if Big 12 blows up its Texas's move to ACC 16 with ND's deal (semi - independent)
  13. Remember when I said Vandy, we all know Mizzou has always been B1G hoping, Kansas and OU would give a contigous line to Texas (UT) but they wont give up LHN with ESPN. Why I say that if Big 12 dies Texas is 16 with ACC with ND's sweet heart deal. http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2013/4/22/4255434/big-ten-expansion-oklahoma-kansas-vanderbilt-homework
  14. Yeah, funny he didn't commit while at WVU when he was very, very, very surely going to. It was a 95% certainty I heard. Who said he didn't? Not saying he wont visit USF but I do know exactly what was said. Also did you see this - @Iamanole:@jcameronshow Clint Trickett not 10minutes ago told my son that West Virginia is destination" Also family and friends here at expecting him to be here sooner than June.
  15. The ACC/Big 12 scheduling agreement being talked about is going to be interesting to watch.
  16. WVU has certainly signed the GOR for the B12. They are off the table for several years. Yes, WVU is blocked for about 11 more years (unless 80% vote to dissolve Big 12), and Tobacco Road will still block us if they can. (Votes may be different now since adding Pitt, Cuse and UL) I still say if Big 12 blows up or 11 years happen Texas is ACC's (ESPN's first choice). They blow up Longhorn Network and roll out ACC Network since they will own all of 14 regular schools Tier 1,2& 3 and ND & Texas Tier 2&3 and possibly their Tier 1s at some point. (ND still with NBC for a while now )
  17. This, also ALOT of the reason WVU gets a ton of NJ students as the academic requirements and cost of Rutgers is outrageous. It is cheaper for a NJian to pay for room and board with out of state tuition to go to WVU then it is to go to Rutgers.
  18. Right now here is breakdown with 10 teams, ESPN and Fox pay $200 million a year to Big 12 for the 10 teams $20 mil each for Tier 1 & 2 rights. The schools control their own Tier 3 which is breaking down from approximately $5-$15 million a year for just Tier 3 TV and other parts are additional (Radio, Marketing and such) Bowl money that is for Sugar Bowl (the new extra big game) and the BCS money (new way of paying) is guaranteed to pay the Big 12 conference approximately $92 million a year (~9mil a school per year) Note: This does not count other bowl game money sharing, and NCAA tourney (Bball) sharing Thus for a school like WVU whose Tier 3 (total package tv, radio, marketing) will be signed soon for approximately $11 mil a season will get a revenue of guaranteed money of ~$40 mil a year ($20+$9+$11) and not including a few more million based on other bowl games. Now the way I understand it in order to add teams value must be added and thus more money per team must be made. Therefore with a conference game and new teams to Tier 1&2 contracts Fox (and/or ESPN) must add some money. ($25 million per year is thought) because Tier 1&2 - $25 mil Sugar bowl and BCS bowl game is still guaranteed $92 mil but divided by 12 teams meaning each team gets $7.6 mil And Tier 3 remains the same (WVU $11 mil) Therefore the new amount would be $43.6 million dollars to WVU (an extra $3.6 mil per year) Therefore Fox (and/or ESPN) would need to poney up $100 mil a year to pay the existing 10 teams $5mil ($50 mil) more each and then the 2 additional teams (USF/UCF) $50mil ($25 mil each) *** That is why I posed the question if you were Doug or Judy would you take less - say $7.5 mil for Tier 1&2 TV instead of $20 mil if Fox only offered $65 mil a year extra***
  19. I think this will happen ^^^ It just makes sense. Also this has been talked about in the past and it would basically make the top 5 conferences into a minor league NFL. Instead of conferences you would have regional divisions broken up into 2 conferences, with 3-4 divisions each. So instead of a SEC, B1G, PAC, ACC, or BIG12 you would have a National College Football League (NCFL) with two conferences, most likely Eastern Conference and a Western Conference. Then within the conferences you would have 3-4 divisions in each conference... they would likely be a North-South-Central type breakup. It has been discussed before... the new NCFL would work like the NFL... it would have a preseason and a post season with a single championship game like the super bowl. All of the schools excluded from this elite new league would be left behind in the smoldering wreck that is the NCAA to pick up the pieces. I would stop watch CFB all together if this happened. This is exactly where we are aheaded, the question remains does the NCAA make a separate "Big Boy Football 64 league" and split from what now is BCS level in 2. Or does the Big 4 or 5 split from the NCAA all together and pocket the basketball tourney (March Madness) money along with possibly adding the Big East Basketball division. (This is where the NCAA gets the most of their money)
  20. Pondering a question Note: WVU and TCUs shares are 50,67,80,100% each year for next 4 years The Big12 Tier 1&2 TV contract is $20 mil a year and with Sugar bowl and BCS money it gets another $9 mil (based on 10 teams). Does not include other bowl money or each teams own Tier 3 rights. To get more money the Tier 1&2 money with championship game would need to be $25 mil a year with $7 mil (based on 12 teams), therefore adding $3 mil value per team, meaning $32mil a year not including Tier 3. So Fox would need to add $50 mil (10 teams $5 mil) for existing and another $50 mil ($25 mil 2 teams) to make those teams "whole" what if Fox does not make USF/UCF whole and expansion happens but the existing 10 teams get the $50 mil and USF/UCF gets $15 mil (7.5 mil each) for Tier 1&2 for next 11 years. Do you take it?
  21. I would agree with most teams not leaving the SEC, there would be a few that would because B1G is still the prized conference due to CIC as much as football. Most think B1G would look at Mizzou and KU as options but with GOR in Big 12 KU might be hard to get, therefore Vandy for contiguous and new state and basically if SEC would lose Vandy & Mizzou and got TA&M and get back out of the 14 team scheduling issue might be good for them. Then hope Big 12 adds USF/UCF.
  22. With ACC and Big 12 GOR, would B1G offer 2 teams from SEC, Mizzou (who would accept in a minute) and Vandy would be a good fit and still be contiguous (via Missouri) Florida would make a lot of sense with AAU but noncontiguous and I don't think they would consider it having to leave SEC.
