There is a lot of truth to this. However, Taggart never had the momentum behind him during his recruiting cycles that CCS does currently. We are positioned as the top G5 program in the country as well as being ranked preseason top 25. Combine that with the attention QF has sparked and having 3 players drafted in the off season. CCS is in a much better position than xCWT ever was. Not to mention the reputation and track record of xCWT during his tenure verse what CCS has accomplished. Point being, I don't think it is fair to either coach to compare the situations as if they were carbon copies.

I'm not saying you will see an influx of 4 star prospects in this recruiting cycle, however if it were ever to happen this is our best shot to date.

And this is where my thoughts were going to.

Our stock is at its highest in years and if we are no able to start pulling in a couple 4 stars now, when will we? Maybe if we hit on another good QB to keep things rolling?

  2. Teams in better conferences can get away with cupcake games. This SJSU stuff needs to stop and we need to play serious teams for all of the OOC games.

We don't need 1-1 games. Just take the one away game deal and go with it.

Serious question - Who has he added? I think he got Illinois and Texas then a bunch of mid range schools.

Am I that off base in thinking that's pretty much what he's supposed to be doing for the most part? Wasn't he elected by the owners?

The recap shows, and game night coverage, by NHL Network and NBCSN are head and shoulders above what ESPN used to do. It's just sad that not as many are able to see them .... but by no means will the NHL be destroyed but ESPN's non coverage. It just leaves a ton of sports fans out there unenlightened.

Honestly, I'm kind of glad NBC took it over. Otherwise, ESPN would be playing up the concussion\fights\hard hits angle up so much the casual fan would grab their pitchforks and demand change. Bring back the old NHL, but keep the 2 line pass and trapezoid please.

The NHL left ESPN and went to Comcast/OLN/Versus each team got $1million more per season.  The bad news was half the country didn't get Versus channel.  A short sighted Gary Bettman almost killed the NHL.  If you remember, ESPN and ESPN2 had NHL games on every night during the season.  Then suddenly had zero presence in half the country.  Then the NHL signed a slightly better deal with NBC Universal for 10 years.  So ESPN wants to fill the massive programming void by losing the NHL (and their pissed at eachother) so ESPN goes down the path of "creating" programming.  Every stupid kind of Texas Holdem tournaments to giving half hour slots to idiots like Steven A Smith...

The NHL is a great product and in the 30 or so cities that have a team most are financially stable.  I just think the NHL lost the casual fan who tuned into ESPN to catch a game.

I hope the AAC doesn't do something shortsighted that will piss off ESPN.  It will be like when the 3 Amigos get fired by Harry Flugelman

Ugh and the terrible NBA contract. That sport is hot garbage. Even the ESPN "analysts" are saying how bad these playoffs have been.

NHL on the other hand has been great. I think they are in a great position for the coming implosion of tv contracts.

While I can't speak for everyone, I am not sure it is an issue of being mad.  More so the feeling/thought that he accomplished so many great things while here.  Yes, he did pull us out of the Holtz dumpster fire, BUT, zero CC championships and technically, zero post season wins.  CWT lives a charmed life, UWK to here and here to Oregon with probably the lightest resume ever for a coach taking over a top 10 program (arguably).

    But the mofo can recruit.

BJM is from Apopka.  Charlie Williams coached for the Bucs for several years under Dungy as well as coaching at Miami in the early 1990's.,

Add King along with Bell and Strong and I would say we have very strong FL ties on staff, with a couple spots still left to fill.

BJM is from Apopka, yea, but it doesn't seem like he has recruiting ties here.

I like King, but he seems more known in Tampa than across the state.

I could very well be wrong about both though...

I'm not sure what UCF games you attended, but in my 7 years of attending games, the students are the most reliable attendees and its not close. The student section is almost every game, full during the team  pre game festivities. They even moved the band this year to increase the space available for students.

Don't agree with this at all.

They had to move the band into the student section to make it less embarrassing.
