I thought I remembered someone saying the administration directed the media to use South Florida instead of USF.

I must be missing something -- why would he be anticipating that? Is Willie Taggart going to interrupt the game WWE style by running through the tunnel, hit Sterling Gilbert over the head with a steel chair, give CCS a Stone Cold Stunner, and take over playcalling duties? Because that's what would need to happen for us to see the GCO on Friday...
I've been wondering when\if QF will speak up to Strong like he did with Taggart about letting him go.
If there was a time it is this week, QF. Get rid of this scared play calling BS.

I suspect they are coaching up the HB dive. They just need to execute.

they most likely didn't care what you wanted to do as the faster they got you out of the stadium, the faster they could go home themselves.
yep, probably would happen at an OCS as well.

I could see him getting hurt with this dive garbage. Good choice by him to get out.

Can someone get Harlin to call TJ Weist.
I honestly don't get people slobbing on weist's knob. They guy didn't call plays and hasn't been picked up by any team. We pretty much know Kinnan designed the offense.
Enough is enough.

I really don't get the no plays before half. it's literally the same as between quarters.
-
Time for the team or him to master the offense is my question?
I find it hard to believe it is the team when they don't have a playbook and run the same 5 plays over and over. Wonder have other teams with full playbooks can ever master an offense.....

woo finally!!!

If you have a QB that can actually do that.
Yea, he isn't a great thrower, but he is capable and we have enough talent on the outside to back teams off the line.

It is possible to throw the ball to setup the run...

Frost isn't interested in Nebraska.
Of course he is and Nebraska will throw just as much money, if not more than Florida.

Coaches get way too much credit for being smart. Sports are so mental they just need to be master motivators.

I never liked them and the black, "U" was ridiculous. The whole argument that the green looked black anyway was lame.
Completely agree with this. Not trying to offend, but they always looked cheap and screamed FCS to me.

I tend to agree. An athletic, mobile QB covers up so many deficiencies on offense that even a really good pocket passer can't. O-line failures, RB fails to pick up a block, WR runs the wrong route....there isn't much a good pocket passer can do to cover up these deficiencies other than throw the ball away or tuck it and minimize the damage. A QB like QF can turn what would be a 5 yard loss on 2nd and 8 into a 3 yard gain, making a 3rd and 13 a much more manageable 3rd and 5. Those are the subtle plays that lead to wins.
Agree with this.

You guys do realize that Tice's 45 yard TD in the 2nd quarter was a run up the middle right?
Yea, but I'm pretty sure that run was setup by two long pass attempts. Instead of the blind run up the middle then pass.

This is the scariest thing about the offense moving forward, both this season and next.
Before the season I anticipated a drop in carries for Quinton by about 5 a game. Both from a slightly more pro style spread, and from blowing teams out and not needing Q for at least 1/4 of every game.
I am worried what the miles will do for Q for the rest of this season, our schedule has been whack with the hurricanes so hopefully he won't be too worn down for the games that on paper will be more competitive.
I am also worried what it means for the O next season. Obviously it will be pretty hectic with basically new starters at all the skill positions, but I don't see Kean or Dunkin(TM) being the type of QB's who can lead the team in carries and the O be a success.
He goes down as soon as he feels somebody next to him. It's not like he's trucking people every time he runs.
Next year is gonna be tough.

Problem is, the only defense with a pulse is the last game of the season. Not sure how they are going to adjust after not having to do it all season.
Would much rather have things worked out before crunch time.

Maybe he is just staying vanilla unless he really thinks the game is going to be on the line. He allowed QF to change his game in the 2nd quarter of the SJSU game. UC pretty much was focused on stopping that inside run which I think is now the template. My questions are:
- No more screens. Why?
- Complete misuse of DJ. If you want to run up the middle, use Tice. I suppose you could use DJ as a decoy in that role once in a while but usually DJ up the middle = 2 yard gain. Is DJ in his senior year our power back?
- Why do most of the passes seem to go to the outside?
- Are RB's not allowed to catch passes in this offense? It never appears to be the 1st read.
- TE's? I know there have been some drops there but they seem invisible in this offense.
Man, if we just had a person or two to ask some of these questions and report on them...

Didn't need the points, wear down the defense, save QF and playbook, run the clock.

I was there too. In the early 2000’s until the most recent administrations, I would agree. We were stealth and calculated, while they needed to put on a big show to get noticed and in my opinion rushes their stadium, etc.
However, we didn’t capitalize enough on our early success and relied on the nostalgia of the “good ol’ days” and “sleeping giant” of young program. Our past admin gave bad contracts, did little to stabilize the programs, and burnt bridges with the community. The current one doesn’t seem to understand the culture and is not nearly as agreesive or proactive as we need. I’m sure I’m not 100% right, but TODAYS Admin of UCF is rubbing circles around USFs. And in college athletics lately is all that matters, especially since we don’t have history to sell.
This.
Q will have go throw to beat UCF

Um, when has he been accurate? He's a great college QB, but he's not a thrower.
