It is absolutely impossible for me to believe we made a mistake not building until someone can show some proof of that. And I'm not sure what you're getting at about the "emotional response regarding Central Florida U". My calling it a piece of **** stadium isn't because it's their stadium, it's because it's a piece of **** stadium. I do fully understand why they had to build it when they built it and why it was done on the cheap ..... and you are absolutely right to blame them for some of our views. It showed what you get when you have to go bargain hunting for a stadium and after growing up at RayJay that just wasn't going to fly.

And just to be clear, I'm hoping now that the ball appears to be really rolling, we're on our way to getting a USF worthy on campus stadium. My biggest complaint in all this is those who appear to be using the no ocs thing as a crutch for narrow minded thinking that we can't get to where we want to be without one. We can ....

Curious how you know we can without one?

For starters, as Colin mentioned, this is basically a rough draft or place holder until this thing gets real legs. Secondly what kind of shade are you looking for? Rajay doesn't have any shade either during a noon kickoff.

    And Ray Jay is brutal.

Someone posted Baylor's stadium that has an overhang or something in the fashion of some soccer/dolphins stadium. Also, I believe FSU has done something similar in one of their end zones.

I understand it's a mock up or whatever, but I would imagined with the cost of an over hang it would have been incorporated.

In any case, I would be still be more than happy with $200 mil pad.

I believe we win but think it will be closer than most think.  We'll be ranked so we have that bulls eye on our back.  Even though we have a talented and deep team, we're still breaking in a new offense with an entirely new coaching staff while traveling across the country.

They make a look a little shaky in this game but will get better as the season goes on.

    GO BULLS!!!

Experienced team, experienced coach and Strong brought a bunch of his staff with him, so they know each other. Offense is not dramatically changing scheme. Defense seems to be staying close to the same scheme.

The only part I would worry about is the team buying in to the coaches, but I don't feel like that is gonna be a problem.

    USF Yoda Retweeted Nathan Bond

This is why recruits shouldn't get caught up in how many stars they have. Judson was a 4* athlete but can't make the UO squad. fit > stars

    USF Yoda added,

    Nathan Bond @BullsNathanSBN
One-time @USFFootball commit Bruce Judson isn't listed on the Oregon Ducks roster for 2017. Life comes at you fast.

Doesn't sound like a skill or fit issue. Seems like he was partaking in too many non football related activities based on his tweet.

As someone who truly loves any efforts to get our brand out there and more visible on the street, I can't help but wonder why if it's a "Green and Gold" day where the theme is the colors of our school, do they order T-Shirts for the kids that are not our green?

The only thing I can think of is maybe they wanted the kids to stand out with a brighter color to keep a better eye on them?

Just curious - not a slam.  Looks like it was a great event!

I'd imagine the brighter green is easier to keep track of the kids in case one is wandering off. Also, I think kids might like the bright colors better?

3, If you look closely, you'll see a patern by ESPN. ESPN owns all the major rights on the eastern seaboard, and south eastern US. They kept some fingers in the B1G so they could maintain control over NJ, PA and Maryland specifically That was by design in my opinion. If there is a chance of losing control in one of their states, they will purchase that property. I honestly believe that USF, UCF and possibly UConn will be carved out of the dying husk of the American.

4, I have faith in both Keen and O. Just gotta have faith.

    3. I've seen the articles on what ESPN did, but where would they put us? ACC and SEC will block USF\USF combo. We don't fit the BIG 10 although I could see them dipping into FL or TX at some point in the future. BIG 12 doesn't want us and who knows how long that will last.

    4. I hope they can fill at least half QF shoes, but I don't have blind faith.

1, If you think the realignment wheel is a decade off, you'll be blindsided along with the rest of the Big 12 crowd.

2, Strong will be here for at least three years unless Miami opens up.

3, If you look at what is in play with TV rights and Live sports content right now, you'll see that either the American gets a huge step up or it gets obliterated. It will be one or the other.

4, USF already has two QB's on it's roster not named Flowers, that can win and win now.

I don't think realignment will be a decade off. For us to get a chance at making a new conference we need to win consistently and I think the best way is with a coach that will stay.

Strong will be either in Miami or UF.

I have been looking at the rights deals and the streaming companies are not dumb. I don't see them giving us equal money as the BIG 12 when they know they can give us a few extra million and we would take it.

Kean and O havent played a single game. Not sure how you can say that.

I still don't see it and here's why; If USF does go undefeated this year, Chances are that either the American gets told they're in for a huge raise or realignment wheels spin again. Either way, USF will move towards a destination job in my humble opinion. If CCS is smart, he sits three years and reaps the rewards of a long term contract and stability for his family.

Phew, I think all of that is a stretch.

We need about a decade or so worth of winning IMO. I know it's not a perfect comparison, but I like to think we are in similar situation as TCU was in the late 90's. Second tier school in a good football state who can get some athletes(minus the long history of TCU). We need to find our Gary Patterson and win for about a decade before we can sniff becoming a destination job.

If we get triple the TV contract money in 2020 we sit around 10 million per school. That is close to half what the BIG 12 got for each school received last year and IIRC lower than our BIG EAST days. I'm not sure a huge raise would be enough to helps things.

As for Strong, I think his most important job is finding a QB after Flowers. If he can't win after QF leaves he won't win many games and then he is gone. And if he gets fired from here he can join Skip in CUSA.

Not necessarily gone.  He has an ability to bring up his win loss record almost blindfolded this season.  And hes getting compensated by two schools right now at about 5mil per year.  I dont see it .  2 weeks before camp.  Reporters are idiots for suggesting it IMO.

They said 2018, not this season.
