2 and a grad transfer to me says a lot.  I've followed recruiting for years and the only time I see 3 QBs come in a class is when there is a QB problem at the school.  Not saying there is, but neither Kean or Oladokun is blowing anyone away... I also think they may want one of "their" guys.  I'm not sure they would have even recruited these guys.  Sounds bad but it keeps coming into my mind.

I don't think McCloud will be a QB.  Just my gut.

Ah...the joys of earning $8 per hour as a USF grad!!

That is something to be proud of!!

"But hey...I ski free and look I'm good!!!"

    Yeah...that will look good on a resume....NOT!

2200 posts on a USF blog by a UCF fan?  This...is sad.  I have clue where UCF's similar blog resides, nor would I lurk there.  Pathetic.

Ski lift operator, is that a major at USF?

She must have graduated with high honors at USF.

Oh relax, it was a joke.

Ah, the lure of a post that forces the trolling loser to chime in.  I'm sure every UCF grad goes straight into 6 figures (hey, if they can claim an NC, why not claim this?).

What's the big deal? So he interviewed our ex coach. He also asked questions about Q to Willie. Jesus, let the guy make a living. He also covered the road race in Tampa a few weeks ago. He is not property to USF. The way the newspaper industry is going all reporters are multitasking.

Truth...it's kinda slow for USF sports, there are Noles fans in the area and most importantly...as you noted, they need to keep these guys fully active, and trying to generate clicks and sales.

Never been a big fan if hyperbole...... biggest reason is having a hard time recognizing it.

Using N Korea as an extreme example, and given they have no college team UCF could play, I thought it was pretty obvious :-)

gonna be a loooooooooooooooooong off season.  Hoping to get some house tasks done by opening day so I can focus on the post-Flowers era.

Reminds me of some people I've seen saying that they root for all the Florida teams to do good .......WTF??? Is there some kind of trophy that I'm not aware of given to the state with best combined won-loss record?

I know plenty of people that don't have a true loyalty to a team that just want all FL teams to win.  That's not me.  UF or UM could play North Korea, and I'd be pulling for the Fighting Kimchis.

This is purely conjecture but it seems that Taggart never got over Harlan bringing in Tomey to babysit him and also that he was inches away from being fired. That's why he offered Strong a spot at Oregon - to stick it to USF. And I don't care if Rocky the Bull is coaching FSU, I will always root for them to crash and burn.

Yeah, I didn't think of that, but I do think Taggart left with a chip on his shoulder.  But has certainly come a long way from getting seal clubbed v McNeese State to being the HC for FSU.

Eh. Very few coaches are both great recruiters AND great with X's and O's. The good ones know their lane and surround themselves with people with pick up the slack where they're lacking either by hiring great assistants who can call a game, coach up kids, etc. or do the heavy lifting with recruiting. For xCWT's sake, he better have a good AD like Harlan who can tell him what offense to run when he brings in the players.

My theory is Harlan lost Taggart after the Ybor City incident.  Things seemed to take a different tone after that.  But that's my view from across the state.

Taggart won't need a Flowers to save his bacon at FSU.  He'll be loaded with 4-5 star players.

Unrelated:  I work with some TAMU alums, and they are VERY unsure about the big contract for Fisher.  Time will tell how these work out.  I do find myself pulling for Oregon, oddly, as I'd like to see Cristobal and Leavitt do well.

How does one grow up liking the Canes AND the Seminoles? That's like growing up and saying you're a fan of the Yankees and the Red Sox.

I was in incoming freshman football player at Sebring High School when graduating senior Ronnie Lippett went to UM (1981).   Canes weren't very good, but it was rare for a Sebring player to go to a big program, so I followed them.

I always liked FSU and Bowden...maybe in part because I hated UF.  Why the hate for UF?  Because so many idiot Gator fans (who'd never even seen the campus) wore me out with "Gators is the greatest!" babbling that it soured me.  Then when I started my job after USF, a few co-workers were Gator gams, and beyond obnoxious.  Frankly, with the Gators sucking so back the last 5-6 years, it's been hard to carry any disdain...they are suffering enough (though that may change w/Mullen).

I graduated in 1990, so I was thrilled when USF started the program.  80-3...I'll never forget.

I've got no problem whatsoever with Taggart. Left the program infinitely better than when he got here. Had opportunities to better himself career wise and not often can I fault someone for doing that. Thought it was cool for him to be able to go the school he was a huge fan of growing up ..... of course it helps that I was also a big FSU fan growing up so if he had landed a little further SE of where he is now would probaby feel different.

No argument...but I can't help the gut reaction I feel.  I grew up a Noles & Canes fan (always hated the Gators).  Stopped liking the Canes after USF's first game v UM at the Orange Bowl (after our huge win v Lville).  Canes fans were smoking dope in the stands and cussed up before, during & after the game, despite beating us 27-7. I decided then I couldn't pull for those dudes.

I love & appreciate what Taggart did, and I find it funny that the same Oregon guys taunting USF fans after Taggart left us pitched a fit & blasted him on Twitter when he did the same to them.

Time will tell Taggart if FSU was right to hire him.  My son graduates from FSU in May, so I've still got love for FSU.

JK is the main college football writer for the Times. It makes sense for him to be up there today with everything going on in comparison to here ...

Fair point.  I was hoping we'd have more than 2 signing today, but no excitement whatsoever.

I know it's not mature of me to feel this way, but watching Taggart hit the Tampa area, and seeing his antics at FSU just chaps me.  I think he's a mediocre coach, but he connects with kids, recruits extremely well and now has $$ to pay for very good coaches.  So that may help overcome his coaching weakness.  We shall see...but I can't be pulling for the Noles, even if that makes me a baby.

So basically there was no surprise.

It's on another thread, but the surprise was one of our "commits" flipping, perhaps to GT.

I bet he came to this decision after praying and talking to his family.

There must be a canned model these kids use.  Most include:  first I'd like to thank [bunch of folks, and the coaches he's about to dump], then "with that being said", followed by the new school he's "committing" to, and closing with "Please respect my decision".
