Sucks that we lose Spencer... good thing we have a quality backup like Selvie.
-
Personally I hope that we go 0-12... that way when UCF beats us its nothing special... beating an 0-12 rival has no honor in it, and not even those deluded trolls over in mouse town would feel good about beating us under these circumstances.
Just my 2 cents
Would better be even better if we went 1-12 and only beat UCF lol
2-10 with wins vs. Miami and UCF would be excellent.
I would gladly take this if it was possible... also it would not be a bad end to the season...

What are some of your real predictions for the Miami game? I really want to make it closer, but I honestly think it winds up being at least 38-6, if not worse.
Realistically... in all honesty... this is gonna be butt hurt city.
60-0 might not be out of the realm of possibilities.
All I have to say is I will be drunk by half time.

OK, game week! No more Mr. Nice Guy!
We Comin'! Prediction: Pain! (that's my Clubber Lang impersonation)
You picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue, and the wrong week to have family day!
I agree about the choice to make a family day... not a good idea on the part of USF Athletics...

For those of you/us that followed Greg Auman's Blog, with heavy heart I learned today that we lost one of the biggest fans we had. Steve O'Neal was a long time season ticket holder, ardent fan and outspoken supporter of USF.
Tragically, Saturday night, he was killed doing what he loved: riding his Harley.
Greg's blog was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed (and suffered) a lot of banter. Steve was one of the guys that never hid his real name, or his love for our Bulls. This year, he made Dickie shirts for Coach Taggart, and some of his close friends & family...and proudly texted me a picture of him posing with Coach Taggart, holding the shirts. I sat with Steve at the FAU game, and while I was stunned at how bad our Bulls were, he assured me better days were ahead and that we'd just have to make tailgating that much more exciting.
One week later, he was gone. I'd ask that we all take a pause to think of how blessed we truly are, and to appreciate that it can all be gone in a blink of an eye. Please join me in sending prayers to Steve's family, and in giving Steve O one final "GO BULLS!!".
RIP, Steve...we'll miss you, Bulls brother!
My prayers go out to the family... but as a fellow biker one should know not to be out after dark.
90% of motorcycle fatalities occur after sundown.

This was a dumb move... "Bow down to no one" is not a compliment... its light-smack talk.
Given our circumstances the one thing we had going for us was the hope that Miami would over look us entirely and have an excessive amount of apathy.
Now after this, I can guarantee that Miami is eyeing us now.
So much for the element of surprise.

I tried contacting this person, and so did my buddy... so far no response.
Wonder if they set the ad up right?

Should be fine... but you never know... the TSA is constantly trying to make USF tailgating a no fun zone.

http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=209264238 We are selling Vouchers at Cosco for reduced priced tickets. I think this is a great move by USF(Thinking outside the box), However it kinda diminishes the ticket value and the need to buy tickets from USF at regular price. (btw have season tickets so doesn't effect me).
Thoughts.
Diminshed value? You do know that a good chunk of our ticket prices go into Papa Glazers pocket... the only way we get a fair return is if we sell a bunch, then the % sways back into USF's favor.
Hence why we low ball our ticket prices.
-
Last year, I put up free tickets on craigslist for a game and someone asked if it included parking and that he would take them if I would pay for the parking... =( The tickets went to waste because nobody wanted FREE tickets. Fan loyalty vs. product on the field is a chicken and the egg argument I feel. Strong fan support leads to better recruiting, a more fired up team at kickoff, and can distract teams all of which creates successful programs. Alternatively, successful programs mean stronger fan support.
Well what causes this depressing apathy among fans and players alike?
This is what we need to work on fixing.
For me I think its just a growing pains issue that is partially caused by not playing on campus. This is just my take, I'm sure its a mixture of a bunch of things which includes not playing on campus to one degree or another.
We can't stake our future on "winning"... all winning does is attract fair weather fans... this does not help us when our program is in the tank.
-
Pretty nice... almost makes we want to buy it.
I've been holding out for an ambulance or school bus, but this... is pretty nice too.
-
I agree... you have the tickets, just use them.

Are we the worst team in college football? Well, a team that must be better than us if that is the case is FIU.. They just lost to Louisville by a score of 72-0... Saturday, October 26th may be a BAD BAD BAD day for USF football. Losing is one thing, but if we are anywhere close to 72-0, that is going to be hard to take in as we move to 0-7 and get beat down like this.
I guarantee that our game against Lousiville will be just as bad, if not worse then FIU's...

I just thought I would share an example of what it costs to be a fan when your school is in the big time.
I went to Auburn at LSU this weekend. Stadium seats about 90,000 and construction is under way on a new end zone upper deck that will add another 6,000 seats.
My seats were last row of the lower bowl, corner of the endzone. About 70 rows up. (nice view, I liked them).
Cost of each ticket, $70 a game (all games are the same price), plus you have to donate $250 per seat, so if you wanted 8, $2000 in donor money each year. The far away remote parking lots were $40 a car, not sure what the close ones cost. No club lounge, no donation carry over to basketball seats.
I am not comparing us to LSU, the product isn't the same.... but just sharing what tickets might cost if we ever became the sort of program we all think (or thought) was possible.
If we had a stadium on campus I'd gladly up my donations, pay more in parking, and more in ticket prices because USF would be keeping all of that money vs. the Bucs/TSA keeping most of it.

You can't build off of loses... only wins.
This is not some intramural beer league team...
Having fun and staying loose while losing builds apathy and a I don't give a poop attitude about winning.
This is Skip Holtz logic.
-
I remember when we used to win, and fill the stands... those were the days.
-
That is funny. Bob Costas recommended Woolard?
Woolie as a result must be media savvy.
Stick with the Knights, you know them much better.
The SEC commissioner and the former head of the NCAA did too. All I know about the knights is they are going to probably make up for that 64 point loss.
With this team we will be lucky if 64 is as bad as it gets... UCF will be out for blood and looking to make up for those 4 losses with an epic beat down.
At this point Taggart needs to be looking ahead to that game, and that game alone. If we lose to UCF then all hell will break lose.
-
Of all teams, Miami has the lowest percentage of fans who have actually gone to (any) college.
I'm sure that is a statistical fact
Don't forget they most likely have the fewest amount of teeth, most likely to have atleast one felony on their record, and most likely have not even graduated high school, let alone any form of a college.
Needless to say most UM fans are proud alum's of DeVry and Rasmussen.
-
"Dude! It's Tampa. Tampa struggles to get 40,000 fans to a NFL game. The Rays had 10,000 show up for a key AL game last night.
What makes you think people are going to show to watch a team play McNeese State or even worse watch a team that got their tits lit to McNeese State play FAU?"
This is the mentality and what Im talking about with out fan base. PATHETIC and full of excuses, Support the team thru thick and thin, win or lose. Not only when they do well.
Its simple y'all... Tampa is home to a transet population of migrants who have no connection to USF football, let alone college football. To make matters worse we are surrounded by adopted Gayturd and FSU fans, most of which have never been to college, let alone FSU or UF.
Its gonna take a few years of new alumni who went to school during the football era, some good winning seasons, and an OCS to get our program to where it needs to be.
Until then us diehards will have to tow the line.

USF's single biggest mistake was firing him.
I agree... Bobby Knight has remained a top 10 coach that remained in college coaching for doing far less... it was stupid to fire him and USF is paying for being stupid.

If he wants to run this power running/play-action pass game...he must start recruiting high-caliber offensive linemen. Pass blocking on play action plays require not only strength and skill, but technique and an understanding on who to block, especially on blitzes.
When I say "high-caliber", I mean in both physical tools as well as intelligence.
I agree but since we are stuck with Skips offense for another two seasons we need to play Skippy ball until Taggart can get his own guys.
The reason why we are failing is because Taggart is trying to force a square peg into a round hole.
that's not how it works. what do you do in year three with the juniors that only know skip's system?
Well you phase in Taggarts system between year two and three... its supposed to be a transition, not a cold turkey cut.
We will suck, and continue to suck until Taggart gets his team... given that Taggart refuses to bend to the team he has. Given this we will likely suck just as bad next season, and the season afterwards until Tag gets all of his players.
Tag is wasting his time and our time if he thinks that he can transform this current group into the players he wants to have... these guys were recruitied for a specific reason and skill set.
Look at how Holtz failed to force BJD into his system... and we sucked because Holtz would not let BJD play his game... well there is no difference between that and Tag forcing the entire offense to play his system.
-
What did Holtz do?
Well for starters he would win games...
