  1. Never seen a USF coach interviewed at a lightning game... very cool!
  2. The man is from Clemson.. the people who won the College Football Championship in OUR home field stadium two years ago I can assure you, he's being mentored by his former bosses, including Dabo Swinney. He's not leaving on bad terms whatsoever They WANT him to succeed here, the folks at Clemson WANT him to be successful here. Clemson won the College Football Championship in 2016 and 2018... and attended it in 2015 For the past 10 years, they've had an .800+ season win percentage... pretty astonishing number for the ACC What are we worried about? You can't put all the responsibility on a man to fix us, without letting him have his own program. His own assistants, his own recruits, etc He's been here.... a week? Not even? Let's get through April, let's get into June... then we can see what we are dealing with. If he took any notes whatsoever while at Clemson, I think we'll do just fine
  3. How we all hope it goes down- Everyone at USF Football - "Hi Coach Scott... welcome... so here at USF Football, we like to..." Jeff Scott - "shhhhh..... don't talk...."
  4. The guy is from Clemson... one of the top, absolute ELITE, absolute peak National Championship teams going back nearly 10 years The road to the College Football National Championship, goes through Clemson. Look at this tradition... we don't have anything that holds a candle to this
  5. Anyone at the last home game would 100% agree with this
  6. I have a gut feeling that pic was taken at Sand Key Beach in Clearwater, or Sunset Beach in St Pete....
  7. That’s a Tampa bay sunset... I can almost point where it is at!!
  8. the best part of this... is you can actually get it from the only Publix located on a college campus... at USF! LOL
  9. Why we wouldn't put Larry Scott, over Taggart blows my mind. Larry Scott as more experience in the USF Football program than the last 3 coaches combined. 4 years as an OG Player, 7 years as part of the coaching staff. Larry Scott has been part of the USF Football Program for a combined 11 years! 11 YEARS! Larry Scott was on the field at our first ever USF Football game as a player, was a part of the coaching staff for 7 years when we peaked in 2007. Remember when we were ranked #2 in the country? Larry Scott was part of our coaching staff when that happened! He went 4-1 as UM's Interim Head Coach (University of Miami Hurricanes), 4-2 if you count the bowl game. The players loved him, the recruits loved him, the media loved him, the guy has got passion and he's an OG USF Football Alumni. Taggart BAILED on us! Then he bailed on Oregon! Look, I like Taggart. I watched him on the field in 1998 when he whooped our ass as a QB. Our reputation is in the toilet as a program. We've had 4 coaches in 10 years. Larry Scott has been on UF's Coaching Staff for 2 years, and the Gators are BY FAR the best program in Florida. Take Taggart back? After he left us, left Oregon, and pooped the bed at FSU? Seriously? Mark my words...Larry Scott is going to get hired as a head coach eventually, and he's going to be VERY good. So why not here? We've given 3 post-Leavitt coaches a shot at running our team, 2 were terrible and 1 quit on us.
  10. This doesn't sound like a Head Coach? You don't think this guy is good for us?
  11. Let's also not forget.. he went 4-1 as UM's Interim Head Coach 4-2 if you count the bowl game Larry Scott RAN the Miami Hurricanes for half a season!
  12. I posted my support for Larry Scott on the USF Football Facebook Page... Matt Grothe liked my comment I win (immaturely walking away with fingers in ears... la la la la la la la can't hear you la la la la la la la) LOL
  13. Dual Threat QB.... that's our bread and butter on offense Every time we get an OC that wants us to have a pocket passer, it all falls apart
  14. 100%% They've got 4-6 candidates ahead of him. Taggart, the guys from Clemson, Lane Kiffin, he's in the middle of the list
  15. Absolutely... but he's got 11 years of experience in the USF program 4 as a player, 7 in the coaching ranks He's been part of USF football, longer than the last 3 coaches we've had combined
  16. One thing you can't take away from him, and it's on his resume... he was here during our inception, and was part of the USF coaching staff at our peak Sep 6th 1997 - on the field 2007 when we were ranked #2 - part of the USF coaching staff 2018 - joins UF on two amazing Gators seasons That's gotta mean something.... that's gotta hold some weight or water in the eyes of the decision makers
  17. Brother... I 100% get your point and understand your point 1) Any coach we get, is a temp job. Including Larry Scott.. they are gone in 3-4 years (noted) 2) Since they are going to leave in 3-4 years anyways, it's silly to give that opportunity to a previous player and coaching assistant from USF. It's better to give that money and opportunity to a candidate from any other college (LSU, Clemson, FAU, etc)... but not one that was on the USF football team (noted) Got it... loud and clear
  18. This is a good article- https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bulls/2019/12/01/who-replaces-charlie-strong-at-usf-heres-our-list-of-possible-and-impossible-candidates/ I didn't mean to piss anyone off. I'll bet anyone a $13 beer, that the next coach we hire, as soon as we have a winning season... is gone. We will all be left in limbo after our winning season, as he searches high and low for a better job. Turn program around, get to a winning season... leave the only person, who won't do that in my opinion is Larry Scott. Larry, out of EVERYONE on the short list of potential coaches, has the greatest possibility of staying. I have no doubt, that any of the other coaches from Clemson, LSU, Lane Kiffin, etc could get us back to a winning season. But they'll be gone the instant the program is turned around. We need someone to STAY. Larry Scott has the best indicators, based on him being an OG for USF, will stay. Larry Scott was with the coaching staff of USF for 7 years. From 2005 to 2012. During our BEST YEARS!!! He played for us for 4 years, and coached with us for 7 years. He played for us when we didn't have a program, and was part of the staff when we peaked. And he's KILLING IT at UF right now. Look at UF's program... you don't think he's learned a few things in the two years he's been there? He's got my vote.... 100% my vote
  19. Well, we could have used him here at a TE coach. We had one of the best tight ends in our program history (Wilcox) and we used him as a quasi-fullback with blocking assignments, for our option reads up the middle for 0 yards.
  20. https://floridagators.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/larry-scott/1026
  21. And to update everyone's stats on Larry Scott He currently a Tight End coach at UF... and they are currently ranked 7th in the nation. And the Gators are EASILY the best team in Florida by a lap. We need help on Offense. Larry Scott was Offensive Lineman at USF when he played here. https://floridagators.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/larry-scott/1026 Players love him, he recruits amazingly well... but we don't want him at USF? Well they sure are loving him at University of Florida with their amazing seasons they've had since picking him up in January of 2018 BTW... he was part of our coaching staff during our "#2 Ranking" years. To not even give this man a marginal shot at the job just blows my mind. How's UF doing this year? How did they do last year? UF went 10-3 last year, so far 10-2 this year. He is part of that program! Please read this- https://floridagators.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/larry-scott/1026
  22. Logically I 100% agree with you. 100% agree with everyone We all want Leavitt, right? Well we will never get Leavitt back, so why not someone who played for him? Who built the program and played for him? Played for us? 4 different coaches in 10 years... And we are 0-3 Post Leavitt, with not one of them gave us a winning record and sticking around. We aren't a destination school, there is no soul or tradition in the program... so why not gamble on an OG player, and see if we can get some of the soul back in the program? Think he'll do better than finishing a season going 0-6 like we did last year (first team in history to do that after going 7-0)? Think he'll loose 14 out of 18 games? That's my only point. You want soul back into the program? You want a little bit of Leavitt on the sidelines? Hire Larry Scott
  23. I completely agree with that. What do we ultimately want, as a fan base? A coach, that puts on a winning path AND sticks around Win games and stay as our coach... right? Say that again.... we want a coach that WINS GAMES, and also STAYS with the program Anyone who wins here, is gone in a year... Who, out of everyone in the college coaching pool, is going to help the program win games AND will hopefully stick around? That's my point. We need someone who will win games and stick around. Taggart didn't do that, nor will anyone else. But MAYBE... a former player will
