it's okay, but USF is seriously getting ripped off for how much we are paying.

Doesn't sound bad but wouldn't Miami be with the big boys?
I don't think so. They are kinda garbage since the Big East days.

Where does USF end up in this scenario? I tried to skim it, but too many words.
in some regional conference with Miami, UCF, and FAU (maybe FSU too).

universities do pay taxes.

Exactly. You will never please everybody but with 12 slots the magnitude of something like happened today reoccurring is fairly slim ............
If a team like USF went undefeated, they'd be in a 12-team playoff, regardless of being in the AAC. USF usually has good OOC games.

What is the effect of everything changing? The disappointed team(s) occur further down the line?

Yes, 12 teams get in starting next year. I guess if 13 teams go undefeated and win their conference there might be an issue still.

Everything changes with the expanded playoff. This is a throwaway year. Sucks for FSU.

BB would not be smart to leave this year. He would be smart to pad his stats for another year, maybe two and then collect that $1M+ payday. I don't see any P5 offering 1M based on a season of putting up number against a ****** conference.
Oh, and if someone offers him that much money (garunteed), he sure as **** better be packing his bags. I wouldn't be mad at all.
Agree 100%. If after next season, someone wants to lure him with $1M+, it means we done did good.

So glad they didn't go bowling. I know he brought a lot of money and attention to the university. The team seemed to only get worse and worse as the season progressed. I found it interesting several of the guys from JSU he brought over have left. His top recruits are decommitting. Rumors are saying Hunter is going to transfer to FSU.
That's the problem with Deion's brand of marketing. It draws the ire of many, along with the eyes. Combine that with failing and it's a perfect recipe for public humiliation. I am so glad that he didn't come here and make half the country root against us.

So a P5 starting LB that was injured and is currently rehabbing a knee will not be returning to that team next year and needs a landing spot as a grad transfer with 2 eligibility left. Can’t enter transfer portal today due to still rehabbing injury until spring. How can he let USF know he has interest.
telephone, email, fax.

If these guys have NFL aspirations, then playtime > slightly more NIL (temporary). I think the portal nets a positive result for teams like USF (if we do our job in securing players). It makes players who should be starting somewhere, but are riding the bench behind other 5* players at a place like Alabama seek out a new place where they can be the star.

Really liked GB, even though he didn't bring us wins. Seems like a solid human being and I wish him well.

why wouldnt fau get selected ahead of usf?
They ended up having a worse season than us. If on-field success is your supposition, why would they get selected ahead?

Hated them. Honestly kept forgetting USF was the grey team, especially with charlotte wearing our home colors.

would like another shot at ucf, if we have to.

Yes but I believe big ten will probably take GaTech & Miami if the decide to go down south….
This is why I would expect GT to go to SEC.
1. They already have history with the SEC
2. SEC would rather get them back than let them go to B1G
UVA seems like more of a fit for B1G. Makes more sense geographically and culture-wise.

Kind of wild to me that we're being projected at all, having only 4 wins and all.

Better academics? Is Georgia Tech AAU?
that's kind of hilarious to think that academics matter in the SEC. The B1G it is not.

No idea why the SEC would want UVA over GT

If CAG can get the best recruiting class in the G5 this year, that will be major. He's on pace for that this year. Win the conference next year and I would like to see him land some 4 stars for 2025 and out recruit FSU and UF on a few guys to build upon the momentum and set the stage for a natty run in a few years. It's time to be who we say we are and if we eventually want to be a national championship contender, you need to start winning recruitment battles with the big boys in state. That's where it starts.
Natty? C'mon. Let's win a conference first. Any conference.

The ACC losing FSU and Clemson is no where as devastating to them as the Big 12 losing OK and TX. ACC will still be a more attractive conference than the one with central.
