SMU will take the 4th seed and Memphis goes to 5th seed after losing to FAU. This likely is best scenario as they would have to play the day before and we should be able to wear them down in semifinal.

Agreed. Here is an update to what I think will happen:

Hard to see a future where UNC and Duke are in different conferences; that said they are like the USC/UCLA combo in stature, albeit a basketball tilt rather than football. Have to think the B1G is not passing on Florida, and I do not think FSU will go to the B1G. If USF can win the conference at least once, make the playoff, and continue to build relevance in football/basketball over the next 3 years (increase our athletics budget to nearly $90-$100MM), I think there's a better than zero percent chance us and Miami are paired with UNC/Duke for the B1G. I agree with a minority people on the internet when they're looking at the tea leaves - there's a reason we were added to the AAU before schools with arguably a better resume. Whether that is to appeal to the ACC or B1G, I think we are in play for both.

Hot take: we are much more valuable to the B1G than both UVA and VaTech, especially if we make the playoff in the next 2-3 years. Large, public university that is easy to travel to, in the state of Florida, and surrounded by B1G alumni. If we win big over these next 3 years, I think we'll be in a better position than anyone ever expected.

The last time I was at a FAU game in Boca in MBB, the attendance was 8 (yes, me plus 7 other people) ..... they started drawing recently. I just don't want anyone who doesn't know them to think they have been filling that building for years. In reality, it has been less than 2 years.

This just goes to show you (at least in Florida) that it doesn't really matter who you play as long as you win A LOT. The local communities always show up to watch a winner.

Are you insinuating that Jose Placer or any of the USF players are points shavers because they had a tough game in what MANY would consider a trap game?

Their friends can bet all they want, just like every other person in eligible areas can. But you think a college player on a lower tier team who has never shown one iota of a lack of integrity is risking everything including his pride and integrity for his "friends" to win a few bucks? If you think that he risked the game by missing 1 FT, I have an insane asylum to admit you to. Not everything is a conspiracy, sometimes adrenaline, nerves, and just bad luck come into play and cause 18-22 year old players to miss shots. When someone shoots 84.6% from the FT line, that means of 100 shots taken, they'll miss 15.4 shots. Sometimes in averages, those misses can come in bunches, sometimes they occur sparingly. But the misses will occur, even if it's inconvenient for you. How about we don't accuse, without real evidence, our Bulls of cheating. Thanks.

I'm not insinuating that they were missing shots on purpose the entire game. I'm just pointing out how easy it would be to miss a free throw on purpose, when it doesn't matter at the end of a game where the point spread is 5.5.

Again, I'm not accusing anyone here directly, but you'd have to be foolish to think that it doesn't happen at all. The fact that it is not only possible, but actually very easy to do means that it must occur. Isn't that murphy's law or something?

The fact that sports betting exists, enables this type of thing to occur.
