  1. We went to most of the home games this year.  The last 2 were mostly just tailgating events with the family and we weren't paying attention to when the game started (but somehow made it in for the seniors to whew) and left at halftime.

We will not be season ticket holders next year but will attend games ad hoc.  We have had season tickets since the 2nd season but all the joy is gone.

It has gotten harder and harder to justify going to the games.

Yes, another thread to rant about CCS.......we definitely don't have enough of those. But to answer your question, I assume he went back to focusing on our defense since it's his specialty. and you know what?....the defense is playing well. Once the offense gets better we should be a complete team.

I'm assuming this whole thread is being facetious.

This may be unpopular. But I dont think bringing back JL would take us to the next level.  We never won a championship with him here.  He did a great job building a program from the ground up.  But he has a ceiling.

He has never gotten a HC job since he left here.  Hell he is not even a coordinator.  And dont give me that ******** about his reputation ********.

That ship has sailed.  Move the **** on.

I love CJL but hard pass.  We need new blood.

    We lost our mojo.

There were 15 people left in the stadium at the end of the game.  This sounded like 5 of them.

I can't recall ever seeing the stadium so empty in the past 20+ years.

We brought a guest and I told him we once filled the stadium.  It was an amazing contrast.

It was like I was telling him how buffalo once roamed the plains.

    Willie Taggart  = Raheem Morris

Young up and coming coach who can connect with players, enjoyed some success early, creating a heap of praise that never was really justified with results.

This is how I see it too.

He is a great recruiter that masked his lack of coaching ability once he got to a level where there was immense talent and depth on both sides of the ball.

Maybe as his career progress his coaching would have caught up to his recruiting but it was not there yet.

    Anyway he got paid.

Willie bolted WKU, USF, and Oregon before the bowl games that he got them to. I really don't see it as that big a deal that he didn't stick around to maybe win any of those. Plus, how many people on this board have called these bowl games meaningless anyway? I seem to recall them saying that about UCF beating Auburn. Skip and Charlie have won championships elsewhere, but nobody has won one here. Taggart has exactly as many championships as CJL as a Head Coach.

But there is something to be said for actually winning things.

So he has never coached a team that won a championship at any level nor coached a team that has won a bowl game (his teams lost those bowl games).

CJL never won a championship but he won MANY big games against teams we seemed outgunned against and bowl games (4 total if you count the Clemson bowl).

To further the point, do we keep two TE ‘s one to block and one to escape for the pass? Definitely different with a solid blocking scheme this past Saturday.

As a spectator I don't see this as a collaborative process.

If a bunch of drunk grown ups had heckled me in college when I was getting yanked from a game, I’d have questioned their choices in life a lot more than my own.

I'm picturing that scene from Hoosiers when old drunk Shooter(Dennis Hopper) stumbled onto the court to yell at the team.  I bet he thought it had to be done.

I was in the Army one week after my 18th birthday, old enough to die for your country, vote and get charged as adult than you are a man  whether you feel like one or not.  Those men would definitely want to come up in the stands and beat the crap out of me and I would deserve it.  The decisions we make have consequences and this is a good lesson for those men, when you perform poorly and others pay to see this performance there are consequences, if you want to boo than boo, if you don’t than don’t.  I am too old to curse the coaches anymore but don’t see the big deal with others doing it.

Wow, what a load of ****.   I was in the army around that age and I was not a grown man.

I was 21 and even to me three 18 yo's were boys.

  11. The only thing he said that I take issue with is "I hope USF honestly shows up with the belief they’ll win."

They better show up that way!

I also feel he is not as sure of himself as his bravado suggests "The Bulls might be able to keep it interesting because the game is in Tampa, it’s on their home field, the weather will be hot in their favor but none of it will be enough."

Kind of feels like he is setting up excuses.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that they will most likely manhandle us but I am a fan and am prepared to lose my voice over every first down.
