  1. Since they already have California and Standford, what are the possibilities they pick if Oregon State and Washington State?
  2. I agree. I just want to see my bulls win games consistently again.
  3. Of our Big East bretheren who made out better that Rutgers? How comfortable is UCF about now?
  4. They all think they will play. They have 18yo egos and probably dominated in high school.
  5. Everyone has egos and that not a slight. We all do. These are 18-year-old kids. The jocks are trying to get into the most prestigious programs athletically and the nerds are trying to get into the most prestigious school academically. It's brutal because in both cases they could get squashed. Harvard has the bottom quarter just like every other school. Those kids have never seen a b in their life and now they're in the bottom quarter. Alabama has people that'll never see the field. Athletes that are probably freaks of nature. It's a rare 18-year-old that would turn down either school if offered.
  6. Yea that is exactly what I said. You might want to keep that strawman away from the fire.
  7. I am on a sports message board but I am not an ingorant knucklehead. I am the one advocating academics and student experience over P5 membership. You guys are chasing your tails. USF will never be invited to the big boy table for football. They don't want us there, it is all about money and we are like Oliver with an empty bowl of mush asking for more. There is a certain utility for having a football team at a college. It is a fun activity for the students to get drunk at and stumble around at. I went to Rutgers for my undergrad, we got killed every week but we didn't care. It was some of my fondest memories tailgating on a fall day and comisserating with my friends. I can't even tell you who we played. The ivy league school's figured that out. By and large the students don't care. Only some of the people on message boards care. Nobody in the real world pays any attention to conference realiment. My kids are in college now (UF/FSU) and the message is that they are preparing them to get jobs afterwards. I had to explain to them what a conference was and which ones they were in - they still don't care. USF's AAU raises it's the academic prestige. Gallagher called it "drive through U" back in the day. That was funny but it significantly diminished the value a degree from USF. AAU status goes a long way in repairing that reputation. There are only 69 members in that club. It is a shorthand for saying - nope its a quality school. You can bet your ass that FSU that is undefeated in football right now is kicking themselves. We are in an enviable position.
  8. I love when people are ignorant to something and project it on to others. "Hey I am too stupid to know about XYZ so you must be too" is really not the argument you think it it.
  9. The schools should be preparing them with the skills needed in their careers. The reputation of the school and the education they receive help to that end. AAU helps in that regard. The program should be for the enjoyment of the students who attend the school. It's part of their college experience. The OCS helps with that Beyond that, how the team plays and who they play only matter the fat middle aged men.
  10. I mean, come on now, you are not allowed to talk sense. I know it will not be a popular opinion on a football board but as much as I want my bulls to kick ass on the field I would take AAU over the success UCF has had recently.
  11. It would be great if the PAC2 can rebuild. I kind of feel like its a long shot. It sucks for the schools that were left in the dust. I think we all know what they are feeling about now. So where do we fit in? I would like to be in a conference with teams that want us. That like being in a league with us and vis versa. I don't know if such a league exists. It sure wasn't the Big East. The Syracuse board sounded exactly like many on this board throughout our shared membership. They couldn't get away from us fast enough. I don't think the ACC wants us, the B12 should consider us but likely won't, B10 - AAU baby! but nah, SEC - ha! Pac2 Rump? I am game.
  12. It would be great if they could have a league champ system with 4 at large teams. 4 - P4 4 - G5 4 - @ Large The @ large teams can play the G5 teams in the first round.
  13. I don't know but it's **** like this, having to be happy that our logo is painted midfield inside a white flag, that I won't miss.
  14. This suggests schools are added by their current rank in sports.
  15. Let's just agree that your plan is great and move on. Somebody get the SEC on the phone, or was it the ACC. The harsh reality is nobody wants to be in a league with us. If we get pulled into the ACC it's because better teams have left. Every team in that league will be heading for the door just like they were when we were in the Big East. We are not worthy of those leagues. Their fans would not want to watch their team play us any more than we enjoy playing and losing to UAB.
  16. Bravo, yes, let's move up now! Unassailable logic so you must be right about the OCS as well.
  17. Yes, I hope so too. These things never happen in a straight line.
  18. What, huh? Sounds like you are unhappy puc. Am I reading that right? I think your logic is unassailable, we would be much better off in a bigger league, better players, with more fans and winning all our games - including a league title. I think we should do that, let's do that! While I wait though I'm just going to enjoy watching us win whoever we play as we climb out of the chasm the program has fallen into. I mean, that's all I got.
  19. There's something to be said for watching a program rebuild or emerge. Probably one of the most exciting periods of USF football was when we were playing and beating AA teams.
  20. It needs a few more whacks around here I'm afraid. Ok second thought, it happening now so maybe we could leave the horse alone.
  21. The Notre Dame stadium felt very steep. The few times the fans erupted it was indeed a wall of sound. It felt oppressive, not sure how to explain it.
