  1. Anyone else notice that the programs have been reduced to free pamphlets? Have had a tradition of buying opening day (and other big game) programs since the first season and could not find any for sale until I finally asked at a team store counter at halftime and the woman pointed to a stack of small pamphlets. She said something about them wanting to make them free so had to make them smaller.

Curious - anyone think this may have to do with the free wi-fi available? I'm the first one to admit that I can get any stat or info I need from the gousfbulls.com site so perhaps my collection is moving in the same direction at stamp collecting.

Anyone know of this movement at other programs?

  2. Thought college was about preparing you for the next level. I'm letting the coaches worry about getting them ready to compete against NFL-level talent, and I'm taking care of getting them ready to accept NFL-level fans yelling their displeasure when they play bad enough to result in the worst defeat of a FBS team by a FCS team.

I personally don't agree with obscenities since players (and families around you) don't need to hear that, so when you think about it, booing is probably one of the best forms of communicating your displeasure. It's general enough in nature that those that are screwing up get the message, and let's face it - a bunch of people in the upper levels yelling different things won't make it down to field as a discernible message but that same number booing will.

I can't believe any of those kids walked off the field last night wondering why they were hearing boos and other things. If there were I hope they're not playing next week.

And to the psychiatrists on here that think I yell or boo to make me feel better about myself, I have to tell you I still feel like crap this morning.

  3.

Good point DZnick  If you are in Tampa and are gonna be watching the game you should be watching it from inside RayJay

some of us who go to the games like to also have the game on our DVRs for future viewing

Exactly - my Sunday morning routine (when possible) is to watch the game I was at the night/day before.  Always like to see the replays and how the announcers called it.

  4. "While being evaluated by Tampa Fire Rescue personnel, Mitchell "became agitated," according to the report, and "twice attempted to bite an EMT (against the will of the EMT)."

I'm glad they put that last statement in parantheses - I really thought for a minute the EMT wanted to be bitten.

  5. Bought thur USF.  We were giving an option of Side line or Endzone. With Two price points.   You were told to go thru ur Account Manager on the website.

I'm assuming you meant "through" and not "Thursday".  The only reason I ask is I was told we (season ticket holders) would be given another chance to up our request for this game.  I haven't heard anything official, so I was worried that if you meant you bought some on Thursday maybe I missed the second round.

Of course where the sideline seats are still hasn't been mentioned.

Hopefully I'll have time to give my rep a call today to find out...

  6. Mine dumped on the porch while I was gone this evening and, don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, I got my first choice in Parking Lots (#5) for the first time .... May have to see if I can switch them out, though.

Interesting.  I've always thought I could get Lot 5 but have asked for 7 because I don't believe others that park with us would have enough points to get there as well - and I didn't want to have to try to trade out if I was the only one that got it (I realize giving away a 5 for a 7 is not as hard as the other way around, but still just another thing two worry about two weeks before the season stars).

Regardless, that means some upper priority point folks have not renewed which means we all moved up a little.  Would rather have more people in seats, but that's a small silver lining.

  7. I go to graduate school in TN and there are several students in my class that are USF grads.  They show no love for USF.  For them, it was just a school they attended.  They do not follow the athletics or even talk about their time there.  There is no loyalty.  Most of the students in my class know about USF and I always talk about our program.  On the other hand, we have probably the same amount of UCF grads and they have nothing but UCF pride.  I just don't know what we are doing wrong or what they are doing right.  We need to get that feeling of pride instilled in USF students.  Start at the source.  I truly believe we can be a powerhouse program.  We just have to work hard, get everyone on board and believe, and win games.  The rest will fall into place (P5 invite).  GO BULLS!

I'll bet if you were in graduate school 5 or 6 years ago it would have been the opposite.

  8. I know the excuse will be Thanksgiving weekend, but if we don't have a fan base that can travel an hour-and-a-half to Orlando and back on Friday to at least sell out our allottment, give me a break.

I bought 2 tickets.... still haven't decided if we're going... That fan base is the nastiest in the state and I still remember my last trip there 5 years ago. It's not the distance... it's the conduct of the crowd at the destination.

I swear I must have gone to two different games. Went to the citrus bowl and the erector set and had not one problem either time. And no where near any amount that would make me want to stay away.
