  1. I know the excuse will be Thanksgiving weekend, but if we don't have a fan base that can travel an hour-and-a-half to Orlando and back on Friday to at least sell out our allottment, give me a break.

I bought 2 tickets.... still haven't decided if we're going... That fan base is the nastiest in the state and I still remember my last trip there 5 years ago. It's not the distance... it's the conduct of the crowd at the destination.

I swear I must have gone to two different games. Went to the citrus bowl and the erector set and had not one problem either time. And no where near any amount that would make me want to stay away.

  2.

Has anyone with an iPad or iPhone been able to successfully get the banner to go away?  If so how?  I cleared the history but that only seems to keep it from appearing when I first go to the home page.  As soon as I click on a topic it happens again.

Cleared the history, cleared the cookies. Still under attack from the banner.

Yeah - I was trying to edit my post to add the fact that I also cleared cookies while you replied.  Hopefully someone can enlighten us.

  3. I remember a few years ago when a friend of mine had a son that was a top recruit. It was so crazy with the calls from recruiters and scouting sites that they encouraged him to commit and focus on his grades and graduation. He wound up de-committing months later but it turned out the kid had actually regretted the decision the next day but was too afraid to say anything right away (he hoped he would grow to like it).

So respect this kid for being quick to let us know what he's really thinking.

  4. I get my ADHD honestly...by the way its got nothing to doooo with IQ..It  thook them till I was 67 to get it diagnosed....miss spelling intended

There are two sides to that coin...

SattyBull  there is a great web site ADHD and loving it....Spelling just doesn't work for me never has never will....My thought process at times is SO FAST and conclusion come so quickly I can change word order in sentences....When I start to type,  my mind is already on the next few words....

My biggest wonder is what heights  I would have reached  had it been diagnosed and treated  early...

By the way took and passed my P.E. first try .1976 . the four hour morning session I finished in 2 1/2 hours...the after noon session the same.2 1/2 hours...First one out...Mummers in the room...He either aced it or failed it...

    Go Bulls

    ...

You tell 'em bull-71!  Posts need to be read for their point - not grammar, spelling, etc.

And Bullwinkle, before you decide to post a picture and try to criticize someone's use of the English language, think about simple mistakes you leave in your own posts:

Pretty darn close for back of the napkin without knowing how they were gonna treat incoming and the payola to the citizens of providence (should be capitalized) retirement fund. Oh and there is $68.8 million already in the bank. Not gonna be that long (missing a hyphen here) all the payments are due before 2014 I believe.

I love it. The 7 year (should be hyphenated) TV deal is worth $130 MM for 12 teams for 7 years. The exit fees are net $72MM+ for 3 teams payable within the next 2 years. We make 20 years of facacta TV revenue immediately. Too funnyt (mispelled). The laws of unintended consequences (not a complete sentence).

I, and many others, make plenty of mistakes when posting and am glad no one decides to take away from the conversation to point them out.  I'm guilty right here, but I thought Bullwinkle needed a mirror.

  5. I honestly have never understood how this can even be debated.  I would love to hear the arguments for anyone wanting anything less than the best outcome for our program each and every year just to hang onto a coach.  The better a program does, the better the candidates that show up at our door with their resumes, right?

  6. He owes Taggert now.   We now have him as a someone who will help us because of his decision.

    Sounds good to me.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Unlikely.

IMO, he'll now bend over backwards for the other Florida programs to prove he actually doesn't "owe" anything to USF.

He played us like a schoolgirl.

Agree that he owes us nothing - especially if he is staying for his love of coaching high school athletes.  He will try to guide his players toward the school that is best for them - or the school that called him and told him to sit tight for a year and will pay him double.

While I would bet his value just shot up considerably, I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think he "played us" to boost his value or for any other reason.

I agree that it was unprofessional, but just like we make mistakes with spreadsheets, we can make mistakes with professionalism and I'm not going to forever hold it against him.  I don't even know if he has ever been contacted before for a position in the college ranks (I can't see why not).  Yes, he should have asked for more time to consider it, but he's probably learned from this.

And you can bet he will get more calls now.

  7. I have a friend who's son was being recruited VERY heavily as a junior and they made the decision to committ early simply to stop the circus going on around him. Every single night he was getting calls from colleges and/or recruiting web sites wanting to know which way he was leaning. It was very difficult keeping his focus on his grades and his feet on the ground (you can imagine how the kids love the celebrity treatment). Unfortunately this also leaves too much time for things to change and minds to change. Tough position for kids that only recently started driving.
