  1. Well played Taco Bus, well played.

Did you notice the coupon on the back of the tickets?  Apparently you can get a free chips and guac from Taco Bus IF the Bulls win AND ONLY on game day.  Let's see, three of the six home games have been scheduled as night games and the other three have a very good chance of being at night as well.  That means IF they win, you have about an hour to get over to a Taco Bus location (I think there might be one that is open that late) before game day is over.  Well played.

    Fine print

The above post is purely sarcastic and in no way should be taken as a complaint.  The ticktes could certainly contain no coupons, so any offers by sponsors is generous and appreciated.  Just thought is was funny how perhaps they didn't think how limited the window of opportunity would be.......or did they?

  2. Got my tix today as well. Pretty angry with my parking pass situation though. Have been in Lot 6 the last 2 years and tailgate with a large group. Was told by my ticket rep that we'd all be in Lot 6 again. Filled out my survey requesting Lot 6 as my top choice. They gave me Lot 3 parking passes and people in the same donor level with less priority points in my group got Lot 6.

WOuld definitely call and make sure it wasn't a mistake ...
Yeah I plan on it. I'm just waiting for the other 3 cars in our group to get theirs, so we can see if everyone needs to call and try to exchange out, or just me. I'm not really convinced Lot 6 is full, given that it wasn't last year and season tix sales are lower this year.

I don't know about the north lots but they converted all of Lot 7 into a gameday pay lot so there's one reason that Lot 6 could now be full.

I'm not thrilled that gameday parkers will be as close or closer to the stadium than me, but I guess I'm getting a discount per game by buying the season.

    Jesus, I hate these threads....

If only there was a way for you to know beforehand it was going to be about Publix so you wouldn't accidentally stumble across something you didn't want to read.
I still have the read the title Pubilx boy...

You wouldn't have even had to read the title if this totally non-sports related topic was put in the proper board.  But no, like me, you might have thought that maybe, just maybe, Publix was funding a practice dome or something else that was actually related to sports.  Nope - open it up and it's about someone's Publix salad fetish.

  4. I always feel like I'm some kind of great fan just because I've been a football season ticket holder since day one and have had basketball season tickets until I see posts like this.

Maybe in a few years when my life is less busy I will be able to invest more time and go to some of the other sports in order to get to know the athletes better and get a little more emotionally involved.  Because they do deserve it.

I did branch out a bit this year by following the women's basketball team on TV and attending the last tournament game earlier this year so perhaps that will carry over to next year.

But before you call me a bandwagon fan, go back and read my first sentence about still being a football season ticket holder... :GoBulls:

  5. So I'm one of the "Since-Day-1-Grandfathers.  To be honest, I used to feel a little guilty during the heydays about only donating $100 to be in 113 when others had to pay $1,000, and I always told myself (and everyone grandfathered should have told themselves) that it would not last forever.  Like someone said earlier, If you want to complain about the team not meeting your expecations lately, then be glad they're doing it when the team is down and you don't feel "compelled" to renew - totally your choice.

It's funny because I recently got a nice promotion at work and was planning to go to Green Jacket level this year before this news hit.  I thought I'd be able to slide over to 112 and only have to pay $600 (4X$150) in donations to get the club access.  But now reading the fine print in the parking section, I will still need to pay another $400 to be able to purchase a second parking pass (well $495 if you include the $15 per game cost as well).  But again, this hopefully will get me an upgrade into Lot 5.  I've been in Lot 7 forever, but it looks like that lot has moved to daily cash parking.

By the way, looks like no more Green Jacket - it's called Green Bull now so take good care of the green jackets if you got one.

  6. Interesting that it seems the east-side sections are the same price as their respective sections on the west side.  Weren't they always less expensive due to the sunburn factor?  Wonder if the Easties will make a mad dash to the west.  If that happens, we may still have a visual attendance problem on tv...

That would have been a question better asked of whoever you were talking to, wouldn't it? Were there any incentives for putting down the deposit now?

The pitch was to reserve your seat for the new year and get to choose your new set locations first, but im not one of the large donors.  I make small donations  ie.. Lunch money for the week type donations. So my seats would not be between the 30's anyway.  Im also trying to resale this to the Mrs. as why buy now before we even know the new price structure. With the closing of the upper bowl will there be a ticket that will even fit in our budget anymore?

Are you in the upper bowl now?

Yes - that would be good to know.  I would imagine if they are thinking about closing the upper bowl they have to worry how many people they will lose (not want to pay more to move down to the other levels).  I would think they would want to reach out them first, try to at least give them first choice at any open seats to entice them to pay the difference.  That would be a tough sell after the last few seasons.

Is there a reason we haven't inquired?

Who says we haven't? Did you talk to the QB and he said USF hasn't inquired?

According to ESPN, when the announcement was made it was like a coaches convention in Birmingham... coaches from around the country descended like vultures to pick the best kids and leave the scraps.

    God that sounds horrible

I believe the same thing happened when the NCAA ruled the Penn State kids could transfer and play immediately.

We coached one of the PSU RBs in Junior football. He told us that some of the recruiting coaches were stalking the kids in the parking lot as they left the practice facility.

    Talk about predatory sharks.

Horrible is hearing your program is evaporating.  I'm sure the players appreciate any interest they can get!
