Can someone explain this to me like I am a UCF grad? I don’t understand what this means

Let's put it into applied mathematics for the UCF grad.

    According to:

    REALMENUPRICES.COM

McDonalds is arguably the biggest name in the global fast food industry and they serve an astonishing 68 million customers each day. This company has grown substantially...

    The price of a large fries is $1.89.    So for $30MM you could get 30,000,000 / 1.89 = 15873015.873.

On your cash register, you'd have to hit the button with the picture of the large fries over 15 million times.  That's alot of fries!

So T-Mobile is paying USF enough money to buy 15,873,015 orders of large fries, and you'd still have some change left over.

The same basic mathematical principle would apply to say chocolate shakes or hot apple pies.

  2. Just had a conversation with my neighbor about the portal and how it seems like the good ole fashion HS recruits and FCS/D2 kids are still the most reliable and turn out to the be best diamonds in the rough.  There are exceptions.  But I don't get as hyped about the p5 portal transfers as I used to.  I remember the last year of CJS with all the hype that we had the best incoming portal class.  We went 1-11.  I know the coaching was bad, but 1-11.

    Yep my thoughts exactly.

However I've been thinking and it would be somewhat entertaining for us to be the game they worked for all season after thinking they finally left us in the dust.

Buuut it wouldn't be so cool if they go ok st on us.

Well.  That's one way to fill the stadium.  UF would work, too...oh wait, forgot, most UF "fans" are incognito this year because their team isn't winning.

im just going to venture a guess that getting our teeth absolutely kicked in by FAU at the last home game in front of a packed crowd didn't exactly motivate the masses to come down to watch us play Temple at noon.

I posted something similar right after you...you beat me to it.  But yes, I think it really is that simple.

What in the world happened with the students this weekend?  I get a huge drop-off cause of FAU result and noon kick-off...but that was crazy...was there a technical issue requesting tickets?  Kids go home for Thanksgiving holiday already?

A few excuses (from the perspective of an old guy):

    • We lost to Memphis last week.
    • We got blown out at the last home game (homecoming) by FAU.
    • Who the F is Temple?
    • Many students are too lazy to get up early (noon game).
    • Many students are too lazy to stand in the hot sun.
    • There were P5 games on that were more interesting to them.
    • There were many more students there than it looked like, but most of them were in the shade or in the club area.

I think the 2nd one listed above is the biggest reason for the drop off.  Every once in a while, the students really show up and impress like they did for FAU...but they are always let down.  I truly believe that stringing some home wins together would keep them coming back.

Its been a tremendous first year for Golesh so far, but I would like to win one of these where we go in as big underdogs. If we do that  it would be a great step forward for the program.

I’m fine with just beating the ones were supposed to - the ones that are worse than us.  Anything else at this point in the program would just be a bonus.

It would be nice to get that bonus, though.  I can't remember the last time we beat anybody as a big underdog.  We've had so many chances.  I don't think we've had one (that I can remember) since the CWT days.  It sure would be nice to have one of those to make this first year for Golesh more special.  In other words, a bowl game would be amazing, but to get bowl eligible by beating UTSA instead of having to save the must-win game for Charlotte would be that much sweeter.

Heck yeah!! What makes this great is these two home games should be winnable. UTSA on the road USF can give it the ole! College try but in reality they are not ready for that shootout at the Alamo Dome in SA. USF should not ready for a shootout at home against Temple. We should expect a win! Go Bulls!!!

Gameplan for this Saturday:  Don't spot them the typical 14 free points in the first quarter, and I think we can pull this off.

That loss to FAU was kind of expected. Losing to Temple at home where USF normally crushes is a serious eye opener about the current coaching staff. Basically USF gave that game away last weekend against Memphis. If USF goes downhill against Temple than this team may only win five games all season. Missing a bowl game because USF couldn’t beat Temple at home during a noon kickoff will go down as one of USF’s worse losses in history. And I have been following this program since the opening kickoff against Kentucky Wesleyan. Losses hurt me more than others. And I am telling everyone now that I will have a melt down if USF finds a way to lose to Temple at home.

This is where I am, too.  On top of this, I think I have been searching for any indication that we are "headed in the right direction" under the new leadership.  Part of me looks at the 4 wins so far and the fact that we seem to have much more fight in us--and that is a huge positive.  Part of me looks at the quality of the opponents we are facing compared to previous years, and that somewhat cancels it out.  A win over Temple will keep things going in the right direction, but I'm afraid a loss to Temple will put me into the category of doubting that there has been much progress this year.

    Go Bulls.

  9. Ok.  So really if you are a true Bulls fan, every game is a "must win."  You can rationalize why for whatever reason you want to depending on the circumstances.  Maybe because it's a conference game and you need to win the conference (that ship has sailed).  Maybe because it's on national TV and you want to show the country that we are not chumps (that ship has sailed).  Maybe because it's a home game?  Maybe because it's a game against a team we should beat, or we are favored to win?  Maybe it's that we need 2 more wins for bowl eligibility?  Or maybe it's just so that we can take some relief in knowing that we are heading in the right direction (because I think we need this win to be able to confirm that fact).  So yes, I can find a few reasons why this (and every other game we play) is a "must win."

    Go Bulls!

  10. Defense has been disappointing.  What’s strange is that they looked like they were really gonna turn the corner earlier in the season.  They plain looked better.  Making tackles they would have missed last year, etc.   there was a thread on here showing how our stats were on pace to blow last years stats out of the water.  I guess the opponents watched film and recognized that they just need to attack us through the air.

With the inconsistent play on both sides of the ball and the flaws being exposed I still think we win 2 games.  I think we upset  at least one of UTSA/Memphis and let Temple/Charlotte beat us. I got a feeling we will punch above our weight against of UTSA/Memphis and let a lower tier program like Charlotte/Temple blow us out.

This is seems to be our MO.  I’m not going to attempt predicting this. 3-1, 2-2, 1-3 all seem like realistic outcomes.
