Army talks continue, decision "upcoming" as it's been for 2 months.  Trey on CGT said yesterday he heard another stumbling block is who pays the $35 million in penalties and pay games for cancelling/moving 80 future games Army is committed to as an independent.

The AAC is considering adding Army to the league. Read more about Army's...

Hey, if we're going to be stuck in the AAC for a while, we might as well play more teams that people have "heard of" nationwide.  I hope they get this through.

Yeah but we couldn’t get to the reporting parts until this Monday. This week has been going by pretty fast lol.

OT MLB dropped the ball by scheduling the Rays to play at 3pm when tons of people are probably dealing with close outs too. No wonder they only had about 20k reported attendance. Maybe the Times will come out with the so called actual attendance numbers lol

I figured they put our games at 3pm because they know what happens to the Rays once they get into the playoffs.  ****.

I do feel like 35,000 is a tad too small for USF unless the powers that be know for sure that we are never going to a Power 2/3/4 conference. We have been called the sleeping giant a countless number of times. Imagine for a moment that we finally wake up, that CAG is a legitimate program builder, that we become the powerhouse of the AAC and win the next 3 conference championships in a row (remember we have BB for 4 seasons without him transferring for more NIL)..imagine that CAG doesn't bolt for the Next Playcheck™ and does in fact make USF everything we have always hoped and dream...USF admin is telling us that we won't need more than 35,000 seats? We have announced crowds larger than this at times at Raymond James, far from campus and while sucking. What happens if we are actually sustainably good and have the run of a lifetime...every game will be sold out and we'll be keeping potential new fans out of the stadium. I certainly don't think we need to bloat the stadium with 50k+ right now because it'll definitely look half-full for some time, but the options we are left with are to force an immediate second construction project for expansion OR not have enough seats for the growing fan base... My take is that the original build needs to be around 42,000 with expansion possible to 55,000.

This is why I think (and am hoping) that 35,000 is the number of SEATS, but not necessarily the capacity.  If we had 35,000 total seats not including standing or grass berm room that could allow 10,000 more people in (students), then we'd be ok for most games.

What was he calling them out about?

I'm guessing for leaving early when it looked like they had the game in hand.

Kind of the opposite, but I remember being there when we played them in 2008.  We were up by 2 touchdowns in the 4th, and most of the students left.  They came back and took us to OT...we still got out with the W, but you have to wonder if the outcome might have been different if all their students had stayed to get loud.

Just like the offense with the deep balls, when the D starts grabbing every opportunity on turnovers, it'll look a whole lot better. We're 3-2 and on track for a bowl game and it still feels like we haven't seen a complete game from this team.

Good point.  Still haven't seen the complete game.  And both of the losses (yes, including Alabama) were winnable.  I guess it's also fair to say that the 3 wins were losable, too, considering that all 3 of them scored points on us before we could score on them.  Winning teams figure out a way to win games--That's the difference I'm seeing here compared to the last 3 years.

Had this talk with people the other day.   If I'm making 2.5 mill and doing well at my job with little stress, why in my right mind would I leave to go to an SEC school knowing if I don't turn that program around in 2-3 years  I'm done.  I am living a great life making 2.5 Mill, my stress level is 75% lower than it would be at an SEC school.   But the difference between these guys and us normal Joe's is that these guys confidence is at such a high level that I can't even comprehend.   They truly believe they will win and win big at whatever school they are at.   I was offered a job making double what I was making.   I would have had to move. My fear of failure and being stuck in Austin Texas without a job was the reason I turned it down.   BTW it turned out to be a good choice as I found out later the comapnies management was awful and I probably would have been out a job even if I was uber successful

And there's also the uprooting of the family to move.  New town.  New schools.  Having to leave friends behind.  It's a difficult thing to have to ask them to do.  Coach referred to this in the post game.

Playing CU or UCF seems slim but possible, if this list of possible bowls is what's true.  I don't care who/where a bowl is when we make one.  First Responder Bowl is the only Big 12 possibility, and being in Texas I assume they'd spot more regional teams to that location.  Pac12 could be First Reponder or Gasparilla, and likewise with the First Responder Bowl, it would probably be a better chance for a regional team.

Thanks for this.  It just hit me how long its been since I have started thinking about the possibility of having to make bowl game travel plans.  Go Bulls!

  8. Between the muffed punt turnover and then failing on 4th down in our own territory, we basically spotted Navy 14 points.  We were able to overcome it and win, but it won't work when we are playing tougher teams.  Need to clean up the early mistakes.  If we don't lose the turnover battle, we beat UAB Saturday.

It would really suck for the team to be awarded a bowl game and you're playing at your home joint.  No travel, no new events, no fun!

That Marshall game was a horrible experience.

Partly because we lost badly though.  And we also had that winter storm that had them take down all the pregame parking lot stuff…and kept people home.  It sucked!

Agree about RJS coming up to major renovations again.

Once thing I found interesting in Coach Leavitt's tweet was the assumption that RJS is still that powerful of a recruiting tool. It certainly was back when he was coaching, but today's players do not feel the same way.

I think RJS was indeed a great recruiting tool for CJL, but there was a time when that was like the only thing he had.  No facilities.  No cool locker room.  No IPF.  No trophies.  The OCS is about the University as a whole and creating future generations of fans who can remember attending games when they were in college.  It brings the game day experience to the campus and all that.  That's why we need it.  I remember some great games in that red and pewter stadium, but I'll trade it for our own in a heart beat.  I can't really speak to how players feel about where they play.

Any bowl game, anywhere, any time. Haven’t missed one yet and don’t plan to miss one now.

    GO BULLS!

We haven't been eligible for a bowl invite in years, so I'm not going to complain about the venue of a bowl that we might get invited to if we win 4+ more games.  I'll be happy to go to a bowl game again.
