If Scott can get solid play from the quarterback group we may be able to "steal" a few games in the front half of the schedule - 4 of our first 5 FBS opponents are breaking in a new starting quarterback with the 5th returning a QB coming off a terrible injury. A 4-2 start is possible, and with that momentum it may carry us into a tough back half where everyone is returning their starting QB. This team should be going bowling, at worst, this season.
at North Carolina State - Devin Leary returns as the Wolfpack's starting quarterback, but had a season ending injury in 2020 (broken fibula); not much depth behind him (POTENTIAL UPSET)
Florida - Emory Jones will be in his first year as a starter for Florida replacing Kyle Trask, but has seen action each of his first 3 years
Florida A&M - if we lose this game the rest if this list is irrelevant
at BYU - Jaren Hall (knocked out of the USF game 2 season ago and out last year due to hip injury) and Baylor Romney will look to replace Zach Wilson; both have started 2 games in their career (POTENTIAL UPSET, I fear no team that loses to Coastal Carolina with a first round QB)
at SMU - Tanner Mordecai (Oklahoma transfer but limited career snaps) and true freshman Preston Stone will look to replace Shane Buechele (POTENTIAL UPSET)
Tulsa - Davis Brin, and his 29 career passes, replaces Zach Smith (POTENTIAL UPSET)
at East Carolina - Holton Ahlers returns for his 3rd year as the Pirates starting QB
Houston - Clayton Tune returns as the Cougars starting QB
Cincinnati - 2020 AAC Offensive Player of the Year Desmond Ridder returns as the Bearcats starting QB
at Tulane - Sophomore Michael Pratt returns as the Green Wave starting QB
at UCF - Dillon Gabrielle returns but may give up some time to Virginia transfer RJ Harvey
