  2. Ricky, you need to add to that model of the athletic fields, your new 25,000 seat baseball stadium, your new indoor track facility, your new indoor football facility, your new retractable roof stadium and everything else you can dream up. ;D
  3. Sig, good analysis, but everything you said about UCONN could also apply to USF with the exception of the off the field issues this year.
  4. You are correct Triple, the article is not very wel written as it is confusing. It is not clear is all teams will get home and homes, or it all teams will just play ND and only three teams get home and homes.
  5. Spence read the article. It clearly says that ND is going to play either UCONN or Rutgers specifically for recruiting purposes. If ND is going on the road, it will be to play FSU or UM. They would do that to get a home and home series with a power team, not a team like USF who they can control by just giving them one game. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/trib/mostread/s_338723.html
  6. Cyber, I did not say that USF would not play ND, I said it won't happen in Raymond James. No where did it say where those games that ND agreedto play will be played.  All it said was three teams will get home and home series and one of those is already done with Pitt, the second is pretty much going to be Rutgers or UCONN, leaving the third to be fought out.  All others will play at ND.  So most likely USF will play at ND, great road game for you, but considering that ND is going to start to have seven home games a year, there will be plenty of other cupcakes on their home schedule as well.
  7. Oops, I guess I was right, again. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/orl-asecsportstown01030105mar01,0,1151033.story At stake long term are the futures of two Orlando-based bowl games, the Champs Sports Bowl and the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day; the Florida Classic game between historically black colleges Bethune-Cookman College and Florida A&M University; and neutral-site games involving Florida State, Miami and Notre Dame. The schools recently contacted Florida Citrus Sports Executive Director Tom Mickle, whose group stages the bowl games and the classic, upon learning the college football schedule is likely to grow from 11 games to 12 beginning next year. The stadium and its ability to generate revenue is a crucial part of the schools' decision-making.

  10. Nothing is worse than the Trib for UCF. When you look at the state scores for baseball, the Trib won't even put UCF baseball scores in it, yet they will put every other state and private school in Florida.
  11. I just don't get these types of posts. None of us here have anything to do with what is happening inside UCF. For you to say what the status of the project is, is just pulling stuff out of your butt. UCF said all along that is it could break ground in June, it could make it for 2006. As far as I know, its still May, thus, its still a possibility.
  12. UCF was only alloted 5,000 tickets so the real numbers of the game sales won't be known until gameday. There is no doubt UCF will sell its allotment, but how many others will buy them from ticketmaster or in front of the stadium.
  13. 83, as I said, FAMU plays in three show games a year. FIU - Orange Bowl Classic BCC - Florida Classic TSU - Atlanta Football classic Those are not regular games, that is like saying the Cocktail party in Jax is a regular game for both UF and UGA. In regular season away games, they don't travel to well.  You ask how much of a presence they have in Louisiana?  Its 386 miles from Tallahassee to New Orleans, its 277 miles from Tallahassee to Tampa, a whole whopping 100 mile difference.  You just don't get it.  Most of the fans that attend FAMU games are not alumni or students.  Can you tell me why the Florida Classic sells out of its 66,000 season tickets between BCC and FAMU, when together they don't average 22,000 between both of them together.  Can you also explain to me why there may be 66,000 fans inside the Citrus Bowl, but there are tens of thousands more outside the Citrus Bowl.  Its easy really, those games are events, almost bowl games for them.  The increase you speak at FIU was because FIU played that game in the Orange Bowl, FIU normally plays in an on campus stadium that they share with their track team.  The stadium seats 7,000.  Look, I am not bashing FAMU, but if you think they are going to bring 5,000 fans, you are probably reaching.  Now will USF sell more than 5,000 of their tickets, of course they will.  That is good news for USF, because you don't want to be a visitor in your own stadium.

  16. Interesting topic. Its kind of like the flavor of the month when it comes to new Div 1 teams. Back in the day when Marshall, Troy, Youngstown State and William & Mary ruled the 1-aa world, making the jump to Div 1 was not an easy thing. Today, with the dollars involved, all you have to do is look at the success of USF, Troy and the latest golden child, FAU. The problem becomes, what happens after the jump, two or three years down the line, after the "newness" wears off. USF is experiancing that now. I would say at this time, you either win, or fade to another wannabe.
  17. And what happens in two years when the basketball only schools split? It will happen, it almost did already, but those schools agreed to stay to keep the BCS status for the Big East.
  18. A point not brought up often is who that check was taken from. The "stolen check" was from the company owned by the Son of the head of the FSU national boosters. I smell cover up.
  19. What does it say when UCF administration talks about bringing alumni home to watch games, and USF's administration talks about moving games off campus?
  20. 83, I have seen him get kicked out of Bergman field once that I know of because he was drunk and screaming.  I have read about him getting arrested in Gainesville, I have read about him starting arguments with other people for no other reason than them going to UF and I have read about him and his sexual exploits with 18 year olds.  If this is the same guy that played college football when he was in his late 20's, I can only assume he is in his 30's by now but still speaks about picking up 18 year olds.  Sorry to dissapoint you 83, but that is a perfect example of 30 going on 16. Me, I am 33, not old, not young.  As for who or what I would say to anyones face.  I have never been one to mix words.  If I don't like something and I think its wrong and I feel it is impacting me in some way, I sure as hell would say something.  Now 83, go back to idolizing your boyfriend.
  21. I am not to concerned about the Sheriff. From what I have read, he is 30 going on 16. As to who could kick whos ass, lets just say I am not 30 going on 16, so I won't say who can beat who up, or who's father could beat up whos father, got that 83.
