Smazza, Don't mess with this! We are very proud of the St. Pete campus!!! We will be having many exciting events in the coming months to complete the 40th Anniversary. I don't see how we are diluting anything! BTW, Gators have satellite branches and that doesn't seem to dilute their resources! I could go on with the list, but need to get back to Valentine's Day with my class!! :-*

What Mutt should have said was he was told by someone high up in USF football that he would not have the grades and that we chose not to take him.

Being fairly new to message boards and not knowing a lot about them, how would one put the football icon on a new thread?

I was hesitant at first, but now I LOVE the iconic U.  I'm getting a small tattoo of it on my ankle.

I agree in some aspects, that we could make the Spring Game much more entertaining. However, we do have FAD in August for us to meet the players, get autographs, pictures, etc. Do other schools have FAD?

Not necessarily....  Kristen was married in December and Rick is getting married this weekend.  Also his new wife, Joanne is a Pharmacuetical (sp) rep.

Coach spoke to Rick this morning and is in shock!!! All I can say is that he was offered a very nice package and was wined and dined BIG time! I do also know he would like to be head coach someday. We just can't believe it because he just bought a huge, beautiful home and was redecorating. His wedding is this weekend so it will definitely have a different tone to it. If we hear anything else, we'll let you know.

The weather is horrible here! Our kids had to wear their emergency tags all day. I had to have another class share my room all day since they were in a portable. (We had 8 classes have to do that.) So much for the Choice plan to lower student TPR and get rid of portables. Our back and front patios are flooded.

Oh bummer....I don't get to be compared to a mentally ill woman....gosh darnit.   Oh wait, I am a mentally sick woman. ;D

You and Sheriff are sick!!!  I say that knowing I would NEVER look at a "HOT" 17 year old boy...he's a kid for crying out loud!!!

We talked to Andre at the banquet. He said he really wanted to be there so he'd turned down the Hula Bowl, but would definitely be in the Seniors Bowl.

We had a great time! We sat with Tim Jones and his family. What a wonderful group they were! And guess what! If he doesn't go pro, he wants to be a middle school math or history teacher!

This is all I will say because I am too emotional about this subject and it's way off topic....1. Obviously both Ari and Rueben have NEVER been teachers and can only speak as an outsider. 2. I agree something needs to be done about our school system, however making a pay for performance is NOT the answer! You would be punishing the teachers who have children in their class that are slow learners, have learning disabilities, etc. The staffing process in place takes forever to have a child tested and diagnosed with a learning problem, then if the child even does qualify, parents still have to agree to the special classes. So if a child is in your room and doesn't score well on a test due to a learning disability, you're telling me it's the teacher's fault and they should be penalized.-OK NOT a good idea, you'll lose more teachers. 3. Pay- you're telling me that a teacher who works in a poorer neighborhood works harder and should therefore earn 50% more?? Oh really, come do my job for a day!!! I have the BEST class I've ever had in my young career and I still come in at least 1/2 before teachers have to be here and I usually on a no meeting/training day go home an hour after the kids leave. Some nights I don't get home until 8pm after a meeting or training. So DON'T tell me teachers in poorer schools need more money than the rest of us....we ALL need a pay raise!!! 4. Because I haven't gone back for my Master's degree does not make me any less of a teacher. 5. All teachers are paid on the same pay scale....the art teacher makes the same as the rest of us and should!!! Art may be the only thing a child is really good at!! OK, I'm done. I will not rant again, even if I'm tempted to by the uniformed public.
