This may have been posted earlier in the thread but Rivals is saying it won't be Willie T. Take that for whatever it is worth. He may be just trying to sell subs but in the comments he claims "he has well placed source".

Maybe I am nit-picking but she wasn't "dismissed". Her contract wasn't renewed. To me there is a big difference there.

We've been expecting to hear this one for a while now. Definitely in line with what MK has been preaching. You have to wonder how much this War on I-4 trophy has to do with the sudden interest in getting all of these other sports competitive. I have heard more about Women's Basketball and Soccer, Men's Soccer this year than anytime I can recall in the past.

Note in that TDS article "Sources close to former South Florida Bulls head coach Willie Taggart told The Daily Stampede that he’s very interested in returning to Tampa as the next head coach." You see where this is coming from correct? Confirms this doesn't tell us anything about which way MK is leaning so this is just noise. I am sure sources close to Steve Spurrier could say his visits to Tampa were the happiest times in his life in order to get Scott Spurrier a set up gig. Media noise.

To be fair, names like Larry Scott or Willie Taggart don't really matter so much as who they have on staff. Both would appear to be figurehead coaches much in the mold of CCS and CSH. CWT had some success as a HC and has had some failures. It seems most of CWT success comes from his recruiting. He isn't much of a game day coach. CWT's defense looked great under Tom Allen in 2015. They then promoted Raymond Woodie in 2016 and it looked like garbage. We haven't seen a lot from Larry Scott as a HC except for his time at UM. I would think he also would be leaning heavily on his staff. I am hoping that the next HC is more than just a figure head but is smarter than most of us and has some energy. Someone young who maybe can relate to the kids a little more. To be fair, whomever MK chooses is whom he chooses. He will have to own the results.

If CWT was here Evans would have been the QB instead of a McCloud and yes you would probably would have had at least 2 more wins. CCS was just baffling.

Heard JP Peterson trying to pimp Rich Bassacia to USF on the drive home today. Said if USF didn’t get into the Big 12 in the next 5 years we might as well shut down football.

Keep in mind JK tweet only said they were in contact. I would expect MK to reach out to Taggart. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything. What is more telling......who leaked that info to JK? Do you think MK put that out there? It just seems like more games and Slick Willie being Slick Willie.

No to Taggart. I just saw an unmotivated multi millionaire Coach come in here and further milk this program. Why would I do it twice? Someone hungry like Taggart from WKU....Fine. A retread Taggart downgrading from his dream job to be his fall back plan? No thanks.

I am real hesitant to see us bring in some big name assistant from one of these big schools where they have every advantage. I’d rather see someone who has been able to have success at a lesser program.

It's certainly possible. Only Jim would really know. I think for anything to happen, MK would have to reach out first.
