He can lay it on a dime at 60-70 yds..I had heard that arm strength was one of Matts weakness but to be honest with you I never saw it through high school. He always got it there fast and hit the long ball, and the good thing is with Fraziers speed it is no diff than college LOL!

Matt is sooo ready to get after it in the spring. Why would Matt , with the talent he has even still be in the mix? I mean the coaches had a whole year to look at him and if they thought he did not have a shot he would be playing somewhere else I mean with 4.59 speed and can read a offence or defence like he can I mean cmon. Now as I have said before Matts style of play, the type of high school teams he played and played for, and the smarts he has for football will push him to the top. If you cant remmember the plays or cant read a defence, what good are you? I have heard that there are 3 for the spot Grothe, Hill, and PJ now we have seen 2 of them and well IMHO if Matt hold on to the ball , hits over 60% of his passes, and showes his mobility, its clear cut!! all the talking is over now its time to prove it on the field!!

Yall have to understand Matt said he is not changing his mind and was a USF commit and thats it, no changing his mind......now I cant tell you the phone calls and visits tring to get him to change his mind. The visit at the school from Zook (Fla at the time) Uconn same thing but he told all these schools that he was a very very solid USF commit and word travels....so they all laid off after it got almost bothersome at times. But south carolina...Penn St. Ill. Indy,bowling green, wake forest, Florida, aurburn, clemson, cuse, N.C State, and alot more all tried like hell to get him to change his mind but no go and I respect him for that. Lets hope we made the right choice, we will know after spring where he stands. As far as smazza saying he could not beat out PJ last year that was not even an option. The red shirt was going to happen and last the whole season. Thats the way Matt wanted it so he could learn the system and get used to the college life. And boys he has done both and is ready to show why he is here!!!

CJL has told both Grothe and Hill that it comes down to them! and that the nameing of Hill to #1 is what you do when you take #1 out of the mix then #2 is named #1. But if you remmember who was #1 at Penn St. so I would not put to much into that. I still think that if Chill was good enough he would have played at QB last year I mean cmon, I as a coach watching some of these games would have put in the water boy, C hill had no redshirt to learn and was working with the starters and could not ask questions, it all was to much for him. He has not played agianst anywhere near this speed in high school. plus why not start a kid that has 4 years left and put the kid that has 3 where he can help the team WR.  Please none of the " you are his dad" or " its your son" posts I think everybody by now knows that!  But Grothe will be your starter for 2006!   Just wait and see!

As a junior he passed for 2,004 yards, 25 passing Touchdowns and 14 rushing touchdowns He was Class 4A Player if the year and finalist for Florida's Mr. Football, and The Old spice Red Zone Florida player of the year. He was also the Lakeland Ledger Player of the Year as a junior and as a senior.He also Was ranked 21st best prospect by the Tampa Tribune and 23rd by the Orlando Sentinal

Yea, people like to get a rise. The number change is correct but it is the way it is presented NOT FUNNY AT ALL!! as far as the jersey thing I can order a #8 game jersey just like Grothe's with the name and all in spring for my family...I have to pay dearly for them, but can get them...why cant they sell them for any player to the public I know people will pay for them.. I might check into that, hell if I could pick up a partener or two we could start something up. I know it would make the program money as well as someone who sells them HMMM???

why do people do that?? I can confirm that he does have #8 now, he has wanted it since he got there! It is amazing how people find this stuff out, when it was just done a week ago.

Well well, I love it when someone gets on here and says crap like I hear this or I heard this....all a bunch of BS for any one to get on here and say both Gregory and Hill are way better than Grothe then they really dont know what is going on, on the inside to even make a statement like that!! CH is not even a QB anymore doesnt go to QB meetings or work out at all with the QB's Wants to stay at WR only as asked by him!!! Now who did you hear that CH and GG are better than Matt??? Thats what I thought. Guys just let PJ do his thing and play QB Matt knows he will get his shot and is working hard to achieve his goal and he WILL! I still say...let Grothe compete for #2 and if he doesnt see the field then he redshirts use Hill for mop up or hell even Denson.... Matt is Better than all but PJ right now with no prac time!! maybe I am off base and agian I have no prob with him redshirting at all, but when I watch 2 and 3 QB kinda gets to me a little!!
