  1. 1. Give a small amount to family members, MAYBE donate a bit to USF, then hoarde it. I'm greedy. 2. No more Hobbie. Maybe I'd use #1 to help get somebody good here. 3. I would probably just go back in time and buy stocks in companies that had extreme growth rates. Screw meeting any people. 4. I like ET's idea. 5. I form. Play action to the FB, then pitch it out to the tailback on a backside sweep. Andre Hall can make people miss and this play puts him in the open field. A lot of yardage potential with very little risk.
  2. We need 7-4 or 8-3. 8-3 guarantees an invite, 7-4 and it's probable, especially if one of our remaining losses is Pitt (meaning we did very well in conference play). The season is not over, if we upset UL we could still win the conference, however unlikely that seems. If UC won it in 2002, we could win it now.
  3. We saw USM was beatable last week, where we racked up over 100 penalty yards and turned it over 4 times, but only lost by a touchdown. Houston has a lot of young talent, similar to us. They need to develop it, similar to us. Do not compare Kolb to Banks. I would take Kolb in a heartbeat (he can actually run, too!).
  4. If UL beats Miami, then loses to us, recruiting could change just a bit. We might get that one guy we wouldn't have. More importantly, that would be another win for us, which we need. We win @ UL or take out both UAB and Memphis and I like our chances to go bowling a lot.
  5. The penalties have gotten ridiculous. It's not one game or even one season at this point. It's not worth firing the coach over, but it needs to be addressed because it has cost us games.. There are many things the coaches can do about this, some have been suggested. I just want to see a story here next week showing us that SOMETHING has been implemented (and the story is true).
  6. This is the wrong attitude. At some point you have to make a sacrifice to get it right. The penalties are insane. Put the younger guy in. He's not as bad as you think most of the time, and will play hard and avoid penalties. It doesn't have to be forever. This team needs players with focus and discipline, that are willing to show it!
  7. Offense has been horrific except vs one of the worst D's in the country.
  8. He did one thing very few college QB's have managed. He had 19 TD's and 2 INT. Without those picks thrown, we were +21 TOM. #1 in the nation. It's not a huge surprise we won games when our QB back then never turned it over.
  9. What are you talking about? Arm strenght is ALL he has shown so far. He throws the ball at the ground so hard I'm surprised it doesn't burrow in. Have you seen his deep ball? Has it ever been too short? Not nearly as often as it was too long! The other posters are likely trying to tell you that Gachette probably looks like PJ and Banks in practice only worse. Since We keep PJ a while, and he's the best we have until we get a QB who, in your words, "has it", we might as well go with the best (albeit still crappy) QB in our arsenal. The rest of the team is growing up quick.
  10. Bain, Peyton, Hall, Nicholas, etc not good enough for you smazza?
  11. I saw that replay, I had reasons I could not attend the game in person. It was not interference, and kept this game from ending in a legit fashions. Many of the calls on our ensuing drive were, in fact, obvious makeup calls. But those didnt get us a touchdown. Still, we were in their redzone twice, and only came up with a TD once there. The ending upset me a lot. However, this team is moving in the right direction, unless we lose to army.
  12. We won't be Miami but we'll be ranked. Harris won't be fired because of us. He might be fired when his team wins 5 games the whole season. They just better not lose to Rutgers and Temple. Hell, even SU managed not to do THAT.
  13. They are an average team, not a bad one. I can think of one team that I would consider bad though ;D.
  14. Yes, the secondary and PJ are the two reasons they won.
  15. Lou G may not be ready. If he were he'd have gotten a shot by now. We could put him in and beat army but, if he can't run the offense effectively he could be a detriment. Julmiste has a chance to settle down and win us 6-7 games yet.
  16. Were you watching the same game, smaz? USM beat Nebraska in Lincoln. Alot of our players, true or redshirt freshmen, had a great game tonight. That's one of the top defenses in the country. Julmiste looked awful however. We don't have anyone better though so better groom him quickly for @ UL.
  17. He'll be there, and after an embarassing loss to South Florida will probably lose his job (if they finish with a losing season...looking very possible now). He's done ok for the conference, he deserves 1 more year after this, unless spurrier inexplicably wanted to go there.
  18. Pitt might take a stab at spurrier, they're not too happy with Harris. If Willingham had gummed up this season, ND might have too. An interesting one is if Bobby Bowden retires. Iowa State is in painful need of a good team. Washington would consider him. Could Vandy take a shot? That would shock me. Tennessee is not going to fire Fulmer anytime soon.
  19. Yes, jerseys tucked wont necessarily reduce penalties. Leavitt HAS to find a way to reduce those though.
  20. I'm dragging out more people this time. Nothing like the tailgate now that I'm 21, too!
  21. I'm sure he's emailing from somewhere else. WAIT.... you HAVE a USC soda tumber! HERESY!
  22. Thats a message for his players. We need more Andre Hall in this one, to keep turnovers down early.
