  1. I have visited the Bullring twice and both times the service was awful and the food was awful. I refuse to drive to Tampa to eat at a bad restaurant. I had high hopes for the place, it seems they have many factors to overcome to make it profitable, such as location, labor, and competition. I wish them the best.
  2. Crambone-the Wildcat lodge is "dorm" for UK Basketball players not a dining hall, they have a few non-athlete students live there to maintain "dorm" status, therefore, I don't understand the correlation between the dining hall and the Wildcat lodge.
  3. Sports Radio 1470-JP's Hot Lunch, had a nice segment on the USF Football team, mentioning recruiting efforts and the need for the Tampa Bay area to support the Bulls and how before USF got a football team, the Tampa Bay Area was the largest metro area without a college team.
  4. 1. Will you make the FL Atlantic away game ? Yes 2. What game do you see being the toughest? @ Auburn 3. Who will win Super Bowl 41? The Ponys 4. What HOME game will have the largest attendance? UCF or UL 5. What would your last meal be if on death row ? (Remember it can not exceed $20) French Toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, glass of milk and a glass of OJ.
  5. I received an e-mail from the president of the USF Cycle team, Joshua, here is what he sent me-"we will probably be placing another order this summer or early fall. we will place it whenever we get enough interest (the minimum order is 16) but they came out really nice. they are $70." Therefore, if there is enough interest from those on the board I can't see why we could not have Joshua place an order sooner.
  6. Mutt, That is a personal problem and has no bearing on how good the bike jersey looks, however, I am glad you stayed away from making a comment about the cycle shorts.
  7. http://www.usfcycleracing.com/store.aspx That is a sharp jersey!
  8. I also would be willing to pay a reasonable cover to help fund the cost of a Bulls together.
  9. I live in south Lakeland also and would enjoy a get together. Crambone, I'm a season ticket holder also, drop me an e-mail.
  10. Coach Gregory's other son is a football coach for a small school in WVa, nice guy I sat next to him at the UL Game.
  11. flipflop4900, there will always be the three percent that are off in some other world. The 46 e-mails concerning Matt are most likely from the 3 percent. Don't let the 3 percent bring you down, remember, the 97 percent are with you.
  12. A tragedy, I can only imagine what his parents are going through.
  13. Currently, FATHEAD does not offer any USF decals, however, there is an e-mail option in which you can suggest an image. I hope all BULL fans bullrush Fathead to carry at the very least the U Iconic image. A link is provided below. The reason for the request is that my son wants a Bulls Fathead, and hopefully by next football season they will be carrying something of USF, please help, thanks. http://www.fathead.com/fatheadsweb/FatheadRequest.aspx
  14. This is somewhat related, during our family ski trip this year, we went out to Utah. While in Salt Lake wearing a Bulls sweatshirt and hat a a guy approached me about the Bulls and their win over WVa. The guy was a BYU fan but was impressed with USF. I discussed the brief history of the program with him and for him to watch for the Bulls next season. This encounter illustrates the Bulls growing national recognition along with an increasing local presence.
  15. QB Simms says he won't attend U of L Other prospects to wait and see By Jody Demling jdemling@courier-journal.com The Courier-Journal The University of Louisville football program apparently has lost one major prospect in the fallout from head coach Bobby Petrino stepping down to become the Atlanta Falcons coach. Though many potential recruits appear to be in a holding pattern, quarterback Matt Simms of Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep reportedly doesn't want to wait. Simms is the son of former NFL star and Louisvillian Phil Simms. "I'm not going to Louisville," the younger Simms told The Record of Bergen, N.J. "As far as my recruitment goes, I'm pretty much back to square one." Simms, who didn't return calls from The Courier-Journal, seems to be the only player among U of L's 12 known commitments who is bolting, so far. Recruiting coordinator Joe Whitt and several other assistant coaches have been trying to hold onto the players who have committed and others the Cardinals have been pursuing in recent weeks. "It's been unbelievable, but that's part of it," Whitt said of the number of calls he's fielded. "Right now it's been more parents calling. The whole thing is, I've got to figure out what's going on before I can give any answers. I tell them to hold tight and see what's going on, and then everybody will know something." Coaches can't comment on specific recruits, but Whitt said he was unaware of any players who were backing out of commitments. One who remains firm is Male High School all-purpose back Douglas Beaumont, who was named Kentucky's Mr. Football. "People expect a lot going on to next year, and now that (Petrino) is gone people's minds have started to wonder," he said. "But I think with the talent U of L has coming in and the players that are still there that it still can happen." Beaumont said he wants to play for the Cardinals no matter who replaces Petrino. "(Bobby) Petrino got to see me play and has seen what I can do, and with the new coach I will probably have to show a little more what I can do and prove myself all over," he said. "But I will get through it and try to play next year." Longtime Cincinnati Anderson High coach Vince Suriano said he told offensive lineman Mark Wetterer, who has committed to U of L, to "stay put for right now." But Suriano said Wetterer is "very disappointed" with the situation. He originally committed to Michigan State before John L. Smith was fired. "He said, 'OK, I'll look someplace else,' and he really liked Louisville and the coaches," Suriano said. "He liked everything about it and asked the coach, 'Are you going to be there?' and he said, 'Yeah,' and so he commits. Everybody else stopped recruiting him. "Now they're gone. So the people getting short end of the stick are the kids. I'm not mad at anyone, but this kid is disappointed." Bolingbrook, Ill., standout running back Dale Martin, who committed to U of L on Saturday, told HawkeyeNation.com that he will wait to see how the coaching search turns out before making a decision. ESPN.com recruiting analyst Tom Luginbill noted U of L has a couple of days to make a coaching hire before things get desperate. It's a dead period for coaches to recruit until Friday, meaning they can make only one phone call to a potential recruit this week. "There's no doubt about it, this gives them a couple of days of leeway before it starts to hurt them," Luginbill said. "But now they're sitting here without a deep class and no head coach. They have a lot of work that needs to be done." The signing period will begin Feb. 7. Jody Demling can be reached at (502) 582-7176.

  20. A college football team watching a movie on a plane about how a college football team perished in plane crash is not a good idea.
  21. From Brett McMurphy's Blog http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/related/C127/ GREENVILLE, N.C. - During halftime of the University of South Florida’s men’s basketball game at East Carolina Saturday, members of the Pirates’ football team were recognized on the court. Coach Skip Holtz thanked the crowd at the Minges Coliseum for their support and encouraged them to make the trip to Birmingham for the Papajohns.com Bowl. Then Holtz gave the microphone to senior CB Kasey Ross. Ross, who played at Gainesville High School, also thanked the crowd for their support. Before leaving, though, Ross finished his short pep talk by telling the crowd to “come to Birmingham or watch us on TV as we kick South Florida’s behind.†With that quote, I’m heading on vacation this week. The blog will return from Birmingham the week of the Papajohns.com Bowl. Happy holidays.
  22. I don't think there is Rainey-UF Booster connection, living in Lakeland, Dreadnaught fans are just as fanatical as those for the gators, noles, and our beloved Bulls. In this case I believe it was a Lakeland Dreadnaught booster "helping" the kid out. You don't win three state championships without a little recruiting.
