  1. Bien, Here's another take which rests on the Qb's shoulders as well as the newly departed Hobbie. IF the offense had been more productive, the other teams offense wouldn't have bben on the field, meaning less scoring opportunities and less chance for our defense to give up points or get tired and make mistakes. The double edged sword.
  2. I didn't see this posted anywhere, and perhaps Howie or someone can pull it out of the Ledger Website, but Brent Schaeffer was dismissed from the VOLS along with team touchdown leading receiver Smith for assulting another male student that got into an argument with Scaeffer's girlfriend. They picked up bats and started to go after him but then dropped them and picked this guy up off the ground and slammed him to the floor. He was taken to the hospital where the wounds to his head were closed with surgical staples. It was partially caught on tape. I'm not sure if the suspension is permenent or not at this point. Just another case of kids not making smart decisions (meaning coming to USF) ;D ;D ;D

  4. Yeah, I bet I own the newest BULL of the Year 01/02/05. Can anyone beat that????  Actually, She's a Bull-ette. But still the first of the year. She'll  have her Bull gear come football season. Oh ET and NAM, congrats they'll change your life and you'll love them more than anything in the world!
  5. c'mon peolpe this is all in fun, but let's be realistic and act like we know about sports, education and real life!
  6. Look at the box score again..... Dickson was 9-20 = 18 pts, 2-5 =6pts and 1-2 = 1pts for a total of 25pts but only credited for 21 hmmmmmmmm?
  7. Smazza, I sometimes find it hard to believe that you are actually competent.........................However you are right this time about the competency of our offensive coaching staff.  But like they say......... Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. The team will definitely be better this year w/  or w/o  Mike Suckie!
  8. Chitown, Are you confusing him w/ Garris? I thought it was garris who dropped way too many passes? Actually, we can say they ALL dropped too many passes.
  9. While do agree that people "get it" and turn things around, IMHO i think PJ is done. Denson will probably get the nod, with Grothe backing him up. I still have to question Hill's ability to play against higher quality opponents. I believe grothE will eventually become the MAN
  10. B diddy, you're not going to be the lone underdog, I'm taking the G-Man as well.
  11. Hobbie.........OFF with his head! But seriously, he needs to go. I used to be unhappy (sometimes) with Canales and look what we got. I don't see how we could be much worse off without Hobbie.
  12. smazz, 620 is saying that C HIll is a done deal.
  13. We should be nowhere near as hyped about getting hill as we are about getting Grothe. 1A schools are nowherer near the caliber of 4A schools. Its a lot easier for a player to shine in 1A than 4A. For those wondering, 1A vs. 4A has mostly to do with the number of students in your population or the area around your school. MOST 1A are typically private schools one or two standouts such as Hill. In a 4A school the competition is much more tough. Hill is a man among boys whereas Grothe is a man among men. I say if we lose Hill.......sobeit! We'll be fine he probably wouldn't haveseen the field here as a QB anyway.
  14. NFL bound in 3 years, you must stay through your Junior year, if you don't believe me just Mike and Muarice... ;D
  15. didn't shaq go to a D-1 school and stay all four years. I'm not saying the kid is Shaq, but he could a have a strong upside.
  16. RB is a completely different animal from QB. With a talented RB like Hall a staff needs to recognize the talent, gear the play calling around him, and adapt the offense. With a QB, it takes time for him to learn the system, learn what defenses are giving him, to learn how to read and react. Timing is of the essence for a QB, and it takes time for a QB. In today's complex offensive schemes its difficult to find a QB you can just hand the ball to, and watch him make plays. Most QB's take years to develop proper vision, a proper acumen at reading defenses and having the proper instincts to react appropriately, to adjust to the speed of the new game, and so on. Bien,.............really! c'mon! Complex Offense you are a beeter analyst than that. We didn't even start using Andre effecetively until the 4th or 5th game. Then he'd run for 85 to 100 yards in the first half and then get the ball 5-6 times in the second half. Every run can't be 25+ yards but keep giving him the rock. So you won't win that arguement with me. Also calling hand offs???? you can't give a coach credit for that its part of their normal duties. A good OC goes above and beyond and Hobbie simply doesn't. You have swayed me to believe that Rod S should also go as he has worked with PJ and his mechanics and poise are still spotty and that's a Qb coaches job is to get the most out them and I don't think he has done that...Final question why all this loyalty MH?
  17. MikeB, I goofed, Green jacket is is $1000, and yes they let corporate matches count. The contribution is made to the "USF Foundation" so it is accepted as a non-profit corporat6e match. They won't actually do $ for $ because you can deduct it from your taxes up to 80%. The other 20% is considered the "benefit" you get with having better seats. so for example you would have to donate $575 and the company would match 80% of that or $450 and that would equal $1025. You would then be a green jacket member and that would meet your basketball requirement and get you lower bowl (ends) Bball tix. Sov get a group together and split the $575 and tix costs and email me.
  18. I've been doing some research and I am planning the the sports extravaganza for the Penn State Weekend. We're flying into Pitt on Fri. morning and going to the Pirates V Cubs that night then driving up to State College for the Game Sat. and then coming back to Pitt (hopefully if schedule works out) for the Steelers game. It may not workout as all the stars must properly align but atleast baseball and college football will work out. Someone else might be able to accomplish this for the Pitt game, I just can't to every away game. Especially with my wife due anyday now. Anyway as schedules develope I'll keep the board in the loop and if you're interested you can contact me and get group seatas for anyone interesed. HowieP welcome back
  19. I believe with a $2000 donation or more you become a green jacket member atleast that's what it is for basketball and if you r a GJ for one your a GJ for all. I'll check with the office to confirm that.
  20. Zone, Tickets were $24 apiece and $22 when purchased as a season. Yes it is $1000 for the lowest club access plus the cost of the season ticket. However any of the donations are tax deductible and if you work for a company that matches donations you can get the club donation for $600 and your organization will match the difference. They don't match $ for $ because of the 80% tax deduction rule. I am volunteer ticket sales persom for the Bulls CLub so you want to buy tickets, send me an email Zonald or anyone else who is interested.
  21. Well, said Bully some of us don't post for the sake of posting. I'm not bad mouthing ANYONE, I enjoy reading everyone's ideas. Except idiot kanigit fans, which all are not. Happy Holidays!
  22. Do we really want Tommy V running our marketing Dept? Have you seen the guy's Resume? Tampa Bay Mutiny.....gone. Orlando Rage............gone. I believe he also worked for another sports team that is now defunct. Nice guy but marketing genius possibly not. Tom come on impress us!!
  23. Mike Benzer (5'8'', 185), senior kicker for Longwood Lyman, rated one of the nation's top 3 kicker, said he would verbally commit to USF today. He was 11 of 15 with 6 above 50 yards - 50, two from 51, 52, 54 and school record 55-yds. Looks like our kicking woes could be over, just hope he adapts to place kicking from the ground well.
