Indeed, if you measure a coach's greatness by the number of W's posted and trophy hardware collected, you need not read further.
: I think the author is confusing the greatness of a man with the greatness of his job. CRM may be the greatest guy in the world but he has yet to prove to be a great coach. Why do we measure a coach's greatness with W's? Perhaps because their job is coaching basketball and the last time I checked the object of the game is to win. I wonder if the author and those supporting his position would feel the same way if CRM were their surgeon? If so you guys can have the great/nice/loving father guy, I'll take the * who gives me the best chance at living. I am sure Ghandi, Mother Theresa and MLK Jr. were all great people and inspired others to be better people as well but I would not want any of them coaching my team against the toughest competition in NCAA basketball. I hope that CRM comes out and wins every game next year but if we are once again losing to the B-CC's of the world and wondering if we can once again pull out a victory in the BE play, then I believe it is time to get off your soap boxes (the ones with the view of puppy dogs and rainbows) and recognize that, to most people in the world, in basketball success equals winning.
p.s. sorry for the run on sentance but it is a rant :-[
