  1. this lightside/darkside crap is ridiculous! Coach Mac is the coach. "He has the toughest coaching job in D-1 basketball". He's going to have trouble recruiting the all star players. He can't recruit from the backyard like Leavitt does. Let him recruit the type of players he wants and give him time to impliment his system. A good coach can take a pack of blue chippers and turn them into a competitive team. And Coach Mac is a good coach. I've not paid too much attention to Western Michigan, but I doubt they were full of all star recruits. Give Mac some time. It takes time to recruit.
  2. Couldn't have said it better myself, USFCollin and BB2K. Although the call/noncall that got me was when USF was down by 9 with about 2:00 left. Loose ball, Memphis player gets it goes sliding and calls a timeout, when they had no time outs left. All game the refs were giving Memphis these time outs instead of calling traveling. But for some unexplained, mysterious reason this time they called the traveling instead of recognizing the time out and giving the technical! UGLY!
  3. That is one thing I was dissapointed about, the fact that me and my friend were the only students we saw.  Until we met 2 more that came up for the Memphis game.  YEAH! 4!
  4. I just got back from Memphis (love Beale St ) and I'm still rocking.  Driving 14+ hours there and back, crashing my friends car, going broke, losing my voice, season tickets, missed classes.  It was all worth it.  This being my last year as a student, there was no way I was going to miss this.  I got to cheer on USF as they pulled the first upset in the tourny and then beat another nationally ranked team.  I got to cheer on USF as they turned a 24 point deficit into a 9 point deficit. (which should have been 7!)  It would have been nice to see USF make the finals and win the championship (those refs were HORRIBLE!) but for a team picked to finish last in the conference, the final four is pretty dang impressive and a big step foward!  Anyone who says otherwise is mentally unstable.  Just thought I'd put in my two cents there. Next year: Same time, NEW PLACE!  MSG, NY!! GO BULLS!!!
  5. is that a joke?  if it isn't theres numerous threads devoted to this subject.  and we did "storm" the court.  Or you could say we entered the court in an organized, obediant, rapid fashion and celebrated (you'll probably have to read the other threads to get that)
  6. I was at the game and I stormed the court.  We went to the stairs because no one wanted to break any of the equipment in press row.  And we had to wait for Charlotte to get off the court because we were entering in their exit.  I'm guessing we could have stormed the court right after the game on the other side. Maybe during renovations they can make it easier to storm the court. Going to be a lot more opportunities next year. GO BULLS!!!
  7. ALRIGHT!!! Me too! I think you get some sort of benefit with season tickets though.
  8. I doubt that many people will show up, unless there is a serious campaign. This town just doesn't support teams or switch alliences until the teams start winning consistently. I wish I was able to go, but I have to be out of town, which sucks! So someone can have my seat right behind announcer guy for one game. I only saw the last 10 minutes of the game because I had to help my friend move, but it looked like the bulls put up a good fight. Never gave up. And Bryant seems to be out of that slump. This team is definetly improved from last year, no doubt about it. And they've either improved because of good coaching or eating more wheaties. So in the immortal words of HansCollinSolo "You Dark Side people can shove it". Go Bulls!!!
  9. I wonder.... we're they looking past saint louis? on another point. they had chances in the second half to get in the game but they'd miss the shot, throw the ball out of bounds, etc. And they let that dejaj guy put them out of the game near the end almost single handedly. just a horrible game, especially in the first half. I can't get over 12 points! 12 points!!! hmm.....didn't our new AD come from saint louis.
  10. I was going to go to this game too. I had a class though. Too bad, sounded like a good game to go to. only one more chance for me to see the lady basketbulls.
  11. the only name I remember is dobras. but I'm assuming that's ro
  12. "and the 3000 in the stands button up their overalls and head toward the exits" HA!!
  13. YEAH!! I love big league chew.  they used to have it in the campus convinence store, haven't been there in a while. by the way, leather was reinstated on sunday.
  14. yeah, the chant "hey tom.  shut up" was aimed at the writer of the original hooligan article.  but the writer of this article also takes a shot at the hooligans.
  15. my thoughts exactly.  40 points off turnovers!  !
  16. did you just call us morons! that's very classless jeff gooch! P.S. its just two threads, not the whole board. moron!
  17. maybe tom will use it as anoter example of the classlessness of the fans that sit in the front row.
  18. "Unlike Leather, USF's other leader actually looked like he wasn't scared crapless. Playing like a person who had to carry the entire offense, Brian Swift scored 27 points. He jacked up nearly half of the Bulls shots, 26 out of 57. Very appropriately Leather picked up a foul 12 seconds into the game, hammering a Cincinnati player recklessly while defending a layup try. Leather was shaky on his first couple of shot attempts, clearly intimidated by a physical Bearcat team." - 620wdae.com I know its not from another team or player, but thats pretty harsh.  Maybe Terrence will be inspired at UAB.  Extract some revenge. GO BULLS!!!
  19. right behind announcer guy, by the hooligans.
  20. In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic in my previous post.  I've been going to the games for the past year and a half and I am also one of the front rowers, Or I was until someone started sitting in my seat.  (for the past two games I was banished to the second row!).  I guess I'm not a hooligan though, since I don't frequent many women's games.
  21. I go to every game and I agree with the oracle column. These hooligans have been much too crass. I go to the games to enjoy a nice friendly match between two schools, and these guys have to ruin it all. They stand up for crying out loud! How am I supposed the see the game if people are standing up! And they make noise! We just can't have that kind of ruckus at our fine institution. So, remember this thursday, you will be representing our fair school on national television, and there may be recruits watching, so I suggest you hooligans sit down and clap politely when a fortuitous event happens upon your team!
