  1. NO!!!!!  The football team started loosing when it started playing against REAL 1-A TEAMS!!!

Something the base and softbulls have been doing all along!

Dude, you really think the baseball team loses when it plays REAL 1-A teams?  It is actually the opposite. They usually play well or beat the REAL teams and lose to the par or sub-par teams.

They swept Fl this year who is in the College World Series and had 3 one run games with the #1 team in the country!

Anyways, you can't compare a Div. II school's winning to a Div 1 school. Totally different scenario!

  2. There is always a chance until he officially signs with someone but not a good chance at all. Especially compared to the chance we were looking at a year ago!

Very disappointing to lose a caliber of player as he is considering how positive it was looking like last year!

  3. Fayson (6-foot-1, 191 pounds) is being recruited as a quarterback and as an athlete. He lists Florida and Miami as his co-favorites, but also is considering Auburn, Florida State and Oklahoma, among others.

I think this is where it says that!

We would be on that list if we had any realistic chance at him!

  4. Looks like we have no chance at him anymore!

    Terriers QB draws national attention

By KEITH NIEBUHR, Times Staff Writer

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TAMPA - Standout Hillsborough quarterback Jarred Fayson has been named by rivals100.com, one of the country's most well-known recruiting services, to its national top 100 list for the class of 2006.

"That's big time," Fayson said. "I'm definitely excited. It took a lot of hard work to get there."

Fayson turned heads locally during his sophomore and junior seasons (he had more than 1,500 yards of offense last fall), then burst on the national recruiting scene at a high school combine in Miami two months ago. That's when, according to rivals, he not only displayed strong passing skills, but ran the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds.

"The thing that sets him apart is that he has got great athleticism and a great work ethic," Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia said.

Fayson (6-foot-1, 191 pounds) is being recruited as a quarterback and as an athlete. He lists Florida and Miami as his co-favorites, but also is considering Auburn, Florida State and Oklahoma, among others.

He orally committed to South Florida last summer, but later backed out of the commitment. Fayson took an unofficial visit to Florida last week and will attend camp at Miami on Thursday.

"Jarred is a special kid," said Jeremy Patterson, a rivals analyst. "He wants to play QB, but Jarred knows his NFL future may be at cornerback or wide receiver. The thing is, Jarred is as good a QB as I saw (at the Miami combine)."

  5. what a waste of time recruiting guys that are baseball first

again this is the coaches fault not the kids fault

usf coaches don't appear to be tuned in

Dude you say some of the most idiotic things! What is the fault of the coaches?

If recognizing a kid has talent and having him committ to USF is a problem. Then I love this type of problem.  The only problem that happened here is that this kid developed in baseball over the past year!

Get a grip! Why do you call yourself a USF fan! You complain about everything!

  6. That's the most bogus list around.  If you need tickets you can get them, they're getting easier by the minute.

I don't think it is too bogus! Try to call the Bucs to get season tickets! You can't! I don't think it is 100,000 but there still is a waiting list.

Granted, in the last couple of years you can buy as many tickets as you want on the streets for almost nothing on game days.  But you still can't get any season tickets!!!!

  7. Yes, obviously this is why you don't see one hanging from my house yet.  Omni, I'm assuming that you are exactly like me and don't like the quality of the offerings yet.

The two flags that are out there are just not 'house-worthy'.  Like you said, one the logo is incorrect and the good one (the one that is like stadium quality) doesn't have the wording going the correct direction when hanging vertical as house flags do.

I think the trick would be find the sponsor that wanted to provide the flag, but didn't mind not seeing their logo on there.  I can't remember a stadium giveaway not having the sponsors logo on it and I used to love the giveaway nights as a kid.

    Freak,

There actually is a really nice house flag out there with the U and nice lettering. I have had it hanging at my house for the last 9 months and it looks awesome. I get a lot of compliments and props on the bulls flag! It actually looks a lot better in person than on the sports fan attic site. Try it out, it looks sharp.

The one on the site is a smaller version but if you go to the store they should still have the large one!

Check on the page that shows home/office items second row!

    Hope that helps

    Go Bulls!

  8. (February 23, 2005) Jacksonville, Fla. -- Three early runs and outstanding pitching led USF to a 3-2 win over Jacksonville today at Alexander Brest Field, but the win didn’t come without ninth inning drama when Jacksonville scored one run to close to 3-2 and left a runner on base.

But the day really belonged to USF (6-5) freshman starter Daniel Thomas (3-1). Despite early inning control problems that led to several three-ball counts and three walks, Thomas threw six effective innings, allowing just one hit. Twice in the first three innings, Thomas had to get himself out of situations with a runner on third, but he went on to retire eight straight Jacksonville (7-2) batters at one point, and he didn’t allow a runner past first base in the fourth through sixth innings. He was was relieved by Yuri Higgins in the seventh.

“It was one of those games that’s great for the winning team and tough for the other team,†said USF head coach Eddie Cardieri. “It was just good enough to win. It wasn’t anything special, but it was a good game of baseball. I thought Daniel Thomas did a great job without his best stuff. Defensively we played very well. We just threw the one pickoff away.â€Â

Matt McHargue gave the Bulls an early 1-0 lead when he led off the second inning with his third home run of the season over the 375-feet marker in right-center field. It was the first earned run allowed by Jacksonville’s Kyle DeVries (2-1) in his third start of the year.

USF increased its lead to 3-0 in the third when Jeremy Bellotti scored from third on a wild pitch, and Jeff Baisley singled home Hierlmeier, who had reached on a fielder’s choice and advanced to second on the wild pitch that scored Bellotti.

Upon relieving Thomas in the seventh, Higgins was greeted with a double by Gordie Gronkowsi on a line drive misjudged by rightfielder Brian Hierlmeier. But after a single by Alex Jamieson advanced Gronkowski to third base, Higgins struck out two straight before an inning-ending fielder’s choice at second base.

Higgins left for freshman James Rowe with one out and runners on first and second in the eighth inning after Pete Clifford singled and a bunt single by Justin Young. After Rowe walked pinch hitter Jon Galui, Gronkowski drove Clifford home on a sacrifice fly for the Dolphins first run. With runners still on second and third, Rowe got Jamieson to fly out to center.

Rowe allowed a second run in the ninth with two outs when Daniel Murphy doubled off the right field wall and pinch hitter Zach Haniff singled him home. But Rowe earned his third save of the young season when he induced Pete Clifford into a ground out to second base.

  9. Vader and Jewbull, are you guys drunk? You guys are already all over CRM after one freaking recruiting class.

You guys are a joke or just trying to get some attention!

Get off Greenburg's jock! What in the world did that guy ever do here! Yeah he was nice. Yeah he is a great speaker. Yeah he was funny. Bottom line though, he got nothing accomplished.

How in the world can you expect CRM to change this thing around overnight.

Are you guys clueless? If you guys are as big Bull fans as you say you are, than get off your soapbox and support CRM and the Bulls!

Just my 2 cents, no harm intended!

  10. It is not unrealistic to expect more than 4 conference wins in 2 seasons and better than 12 points in a HALF of D1 college basketball.  If that is good enough for you try raising your expectations.

Dude are you kidding me? Last year doesn't count. CRM was left with crap!

This year the team has been very competitive and ejoyable to watch knowing the lack of depth and talent. Give him at least two more years to show what he can do with a team full of his own recruits!

Stop complaining and just support you team and school!!

  11. Freshmen Trio Pitches USF to 3-1 Win at Bethune-Cookman

    Box Score(html)

    Box Score(pdf)

(February 15, 2005) DAYTONA BEACH, FLA --Daniel Thomas, Ty Pryor and James Rowe, three freshmen pitchers on the USF staff, combined to face just 32 Bethune-Cookman batters through nine innings to lead the Bulls to a 3-1 win today at Jackie Robinson Park.

The trio allowed just nine base runners all afternoon, and four of those were erased on two double plays and two pickoffs. Bethune-Cookman managed just four hits and the Bulls’ pitching trio struck out six.

“Three freshmen, what can you say?†said USF head coach Eddie Cardieri. “It was pitching and defense. We just mustered enough runs. We only scored in one inning, but three freshmen shut them down. I’m really, really proud of them.â€Â

USF’s (4-3) entire scoring output came in the fourth inning, when Tim Orlosky walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch to open the inning. Jeff Baisley brought him home with his fourth double of the season, and Matt McHargue followed with a home run over the left field wall for the 3-0 lead. Bethune-Cookman (0-8) scored its lone run in the bottom half of the fourth.

But the three USF runs were all the freshmen pitchers would need. Thomas (1-1) started and picked up his first career win, facing just 18 batters in five innings. He gave up three hits and two walks, but he erased two of those runners on pickoff plays – one at first base and one between second and third.

Pryor pitched 2.2 innings and faced nine batters while allowing no hits and two walks. He too erased one of those runners by inducing a double play ball. Rowe came in to get the final out in the eighth and after allowing a two-out double in the ninth, he struck out Jon Roberts to end the game and pick up his second save of the young season.

USF plays a three-game home series Friday through Sunday against Eastern Michigan at Red McEwen Field.

  12. I attended all but the Memphis and Pitt games this season for football.  I attended almost half of the home basketball games last season and all but one football game last season.  I am not putting this school down, but all I was trying to say is that for many students, USF comes second because we are not winning and we play in a weak conference be it either C-USA or the Big East.  If USF were in the ACC or SEC, then things would be different.  If some of the football players were not punks around campus, then things would change.  I like many see no more excitment in playing the likes of Rutgers or UConn then playing Memphis or Southern Miss, actually the Memphis or Southern Miss games seem to have a better connection than those northern schools.  I understand that we are building a tradition, but I did not decide to attend USF based on its athletics like many other students, but I decided to attend USF to obtain a good education.  I support the Bulls, but I cannot help it, I still will be a FSU fan.  It is in my blood, I am sorry that I can't please you guys, but that is my take on it.

Student, are you fricking kidding me about the teams we play is the reason you can't get excited about the games.

Who in the heck until the last 2 years have FSU been playing in the ACC? When FSU went into the ACC they won every single game! Nice competition! That didn't stop you from going to their games. Don't give me that bull!

Just admit you are a little front running FSU wantabe!
