  1. No Terry Im not going to meet you in Vegas to watch you lose your $40 bankroll playing 5 dollar blackjack all night. Did you just say you're you moving back to Tampa?
  2. IS BECAUSE WE HAVE NO RUNNING BACK! The offensive line is doing the best they can considering that opposing d lines can just pin their ears back and rush the passer because we are not a threat on the ground. Rod Smith is doing the best he can manufacturing a semi-balanced attack. He has no one to give the ball too. If we convert that 4th down, or if they dont make they ridiculous call on the long Amp Hill pass, we win the game. We also game planned for a different QB the whole week. Leavitt, Smith, and Frey are doing fine. We are halfway to bowl eligible. The loss hurts, but really what we really need to do is make it to 4-2 until we get Ponton back and well be okay. Look at the big picture. We are coming off our first bowl game and cannot sneak up on anyone anymore. Our offense works. Ill bet we at least 7 games this year with a freshman QB and go to a bowl. Thats progress towards building this program.
  3. The guy called a very good and balanced game with absolutely no running back. That's hard to do. When you play teams like FIU and UCF you try to only run basic stuff to keep things off film. So you can't blame him much for that. Good job Rod.
  4. He is the most bashed man ever, and whenever he we lose people blame it on him. Well, what about this week. He called a near perfect game. Tough to put up 400+ yards with your third string running back.
  5. Further, WVU's record over the last 15 games or so is very impressive. The only team they;ve lost to was a very good virginia tech team. By the end of the year they could be 24-1 over their last 25 or something like that. Got to give it to those guys.
  6. I love our team. Realistically, we have no chance against these guys. I will still watch and hope for the best. But we have no chance. People knock Pat White;s throwing ability but every time he needs to make a throw he does. He's over 70% in completions for the year. He is sick.
  7. These injuries are not that out of the norm.. You have one guy (Howard) who had a freak injury and then got reinjured. Everyone knew Zaronn Cann's problems with his knee before he got here. And then Curry gets injured. Its not Mac's fault these guys got injured, its Mac's fault we do not have recruited more depth. Which is why it is more noticeable on our squad.
  8. Minotaur you are a moron. I heard from another booster that the appeal to go from 6 to 2 will be decided the Thursday before UCF.
  9. As long as JL keep winning who cares? Why do we want to micromanage these guys?
  10. I don't know Sherriff last time I saw you there you were broke, lost all your money, couldn't get a girl to talk to you, and I don't think you had any weed. I saw the articles, my point is this: Does anybody know for sure? Have they made a ruling yet? I am terrified about the UCF game
  11. What is the status for Ponton and Julmiste. 2 games? 6 games? Or is it being kept top secret and no one knows for sure? Thanks
  12. I mean I didnt even know there was a difference between a Beef Stud and a green and gold guy. But why are people paying attention to how other people cheer or who shows up and when? Don't you people go to the games to watch the games? Weird.
  13. Who cares? Why fight over who is a better fan? Small time mentality.
  14. Smazza-Woolard does not need to sit Leavitt down. I want Leavitt to win games. And he ussually does. How he gets along with the media really of no is no concern to me. The only real way to make these papers cover us/expand there coverage is to keep winning. If we win 8 games, we will get more coverage. If we upset Louisville or WVU we'll get more coverage. The fact is that this is USF v Mcneese in the opening weekend. We are not going to get a ton of coverage this week no matter what, especially with the UM FSU matchup. If we lose any of these first three games, well then maybe its time for a sit down. But for now, who really cares. Our season begins week 3. It will be the first real test, first game the media cares about, and the suspensions will only really matter if they end up carrying into this game.
  15. Bob, What is your prediction? Maybe your optimisim will be contaigous. Mike, Actually the opinions of fans and boosters alike should and will matter. Woolard is only here for the duration of his employment. Juxtapose, affiliation to a USF should be a lifetime commitment for our fans and alumni. We are the stewards of the university. If he has another bad season, the decision will be made for him.
  16. Bob, Where we disagree is that he doesn't get a pass since guys are not healthy. Everyteam loses guys throughout the course of the year. You ahve to count on it. That's why most schools try to be 3 deep at all postions, hence the 15 man roster. The problem is when you have a 10 man roster, losing 4 guys is a lot more detrimental than when you have a 15 man roster. Also the less guys you have, the more succeptible they are to injury, due to wear and tear. I would say our biggest failure the last three years has not only been lack of talent recruited, but lack of depth recruited as well. Accountability for that goes to the coach I'm sorry. If hope we are good this year. Sigh...
  17. You can be pro-usf and not be in favor of Mac. Give me a break. What is wrong with wanting to be good at basketball? The logic is that since we have been really bad at basketball since Mac got here, maybe a new coach would change that. What's so bad about feeling that way? It's not like these people are sabotaging the program, they just think the coach is not very good. Coaches come and go, anyways. Mac would leave for the UF job or several others in a heart beat. The only coach that deserves the type of loyalty you are showing Mac is Leavitt. By excusing Mac, you are contributing to a culture that is not conducive to winning. Im not saying rip the guy, but please do not say he deserves to still be here if he wins 5 conference games in year 4 (doubt he will, but still) and has recruited a roster with the least amount of talent in the BE. We need to set expectations. He should, and I bet he does, expect to feel some pressuret this year. My view is simple, the last three years have been very dissapointing and I am not happy with the program. If we have a good season (not just a season that is better than last year), all is forgotten and he needs to come back. If we have another pitiful, bad, or mediocore season- I WILL BE SCREAMING FOR HIS HEAD. And if they keep after a season like that this year I will earmark my donation for football and women's basketball. This is because I love USF basketball and we deserve better. Ill show up this season and hope for the best, but if doesnt turn out that way, and really it looks like an uphill climb when you look at our roster, I am going to lose it. I can only take one more season of this. THIS IS FREAKING BIG TIME COLLEGE ATHLETICS PEOPLE-WELCOME TO THE PARTY. WIN WIN WIN
  18. Triple B- We do not have more talent than last year. We lost our two best players- Jones- who was an NBA draft pick and Holmes, our leading scorer. While we do have more depth, it is still relative to our competition, just like talent. We don't have the players to win. Take the time and look at the roster for the other BE schools. It is not even close.
