  1. I don't know, but they better use a scholarship to make sure they get a guy who can kick. Walk-on kickers will absolutely kill you at some point in the season, usually at the most critical times.
  2. Yeah, that was the PAT that tied the game at the end of regulation. It looked like he duffed it.
  3. I can only think of two reasons: 1. The PD doesn't feel like USF has enough of a following to warrant spending a lot of time on them. 2. They're not 0-3 and we fans aren't screaming for any head still attached to a neck.
  4. Upside: TCU has very hot women. Downside: They're all sick in the head. More so than usual.
  5. Endzone, here's the thing that killed me. I took this picture 30 minutes before the game: It looks like they already played the whole game on it. Then about five or ten minutes after the game, out came the mowers. They started running along the goal line in the north end zone and it was like the football equivalent of the Zamboni. The field instantly looked smooth and perfect, like in your picture from last year. Obviously it didn't work, but I'm pretty sure the only reason TCU didn't groom the field before the game is because they thought it would play into their hands to have a crummy track since their running game is better than ours.
  6. No it isn't. That's what TCU gets for bringing almost every game for the last two years down to the wire. Eventually they won't be able to pull a game out.
  7. You got that right. The field looked like hell before the game. Then about 10 minutes after the game, they brought out the mowers and started running them along the field. The field looked a lot better where they mowed it. Makes me think TCU left the grass long and chewed up because they know they can't defend the pass and it would slow the WRs down. In which case, Sarosi and everyone else was just helping the grounds crew out by taking pieces of sod with them before they could be mowed. 8)
  8. MikeB, there was an awful lot of hospitality in that cup.  By the way, there was quite a stampede at the corner of 4th and Main around 2:00 am last night. We have these hedges shaped like cattle in downtown, so here you go.
  9. The TCU guys were saying the same thing -- ESPN's feed cut out. WFTS did not decide to pre-empt the ending for hurricane coverage. The only people who saw the end of the game were the people inside the stadium.
  10. The weather will be fine here on Saturday night. Around 80 degrees at kickoff and cooling off as the sun goes down. As for getting back to Tampa... well, that might be another issue altogether.
  11. Bleep J.R. Reed. That kickoff return gave them enough field position to kick the field goal that cost me my fantasy game.
  12. for not knee-jerking on the quarterback situation, like so many fans of the professional team in Tampa do. There are a lot of things that go into a stagnant offense, and it's not just the QB's fault.
  13. Yeah, you get two members of your organization down on the field, and if you can complete a pass to someone 30 or 40 yards away while they're standing still, you get to play a series at QB for the Bulls.
  14. There is no freaking way USF wins that game next week. And that's considering TCU gave up 70 points in about 2 1/2 quarters.
  15. And they're going to let Oscar Robertson "coach". What an absolute sham. They should have just hired Donald Little as the coach if they had no intention of letting the interim guy be involved with the team.
  16. The rumor I heard while I was in school is that Eddie runs his team like a good ol' boy network, plucking the kids of friends out of the same baseball camps and not really going after the big-time players. Heck, his own son is starting on the team, so who knows.
  17. Yeah, I'll have space wherever I'm living in September... although I have to say I'm disappointed. I thought for sure you could spend the weekend here without a hotel room with all the easy private-school coeds running around here. Believe me, from what I've seen, the "C" in TCU is a complete misnomer. 8)
  18. A renovated building also gets them back in the concert business. The Sun Dome's acoustics are horrible and they're going to start losing artists to that ampitheater out at the fairgrounds. So it's not just a consideration for the basketball, but for all the events they can hold there.
  19. Guys, I live five minutes from TCU so if you need some advance scouting on the area (where to stay, how to get around, places to see), let me know and I'll get some answers for you. If y'all want to do some sort of unofficial board event, I can get the ball rolling on that too. JEWBULL has already referred to Fort Worth as "my town", so no pressure there.
  20. Don't worry dabull, there's no one who wants to move the homecoming game against Army to another date. That one is signed, sealed, and delivered for October 16.
  21. Game over! Wade strikes out. Bulls 6, Knights 3.
  22. Bernhard grounded out to Baisley, but a run scored. 6-3 with one out to go and a runner on second.
  23. Yuri Higgins struck out Cooper, but Chandler Rose doubled in a run. 6-2, one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd.
  24. As Mike points out, Internet polls aren't statistically valid. For all we know, 29 people are against it, and one person who is for it voted 110 times.
